Yeah man... what a seriously bad contract. Every GM makes a bad move here and there. Chiarelli has made a lot of bad moves, everywhere, though. I had faith in him initially... I feel like he's now just guiding the titanic into every iceberg he can see.

Edmonton plays calgary tonight. Should be interesting. Calgary has lost their last 3, albeit getting a point in each one. Edmonton got hosed 5-0 in their last game. Somehow I feel Calgary will open Edmonton up like a can of worms, tonight. Yay!

This TSN analysis of the "me caveman, me tough" sort of team build is well, the way of the dinosaurs. So, Sharelli clearly has built his team like the LA Kings which well, didn't make the playoffs much after everyone around them got faster, more skilled, and well, smaller!

The Oilers were called "slow" right? Well, now it makes sense.

And now, to scrap it with all those players signed to deals is going to take some magic. Link: https://www.tsn.ca/the-death-of-heavy-hockey-1.978609

The oilers managed to scrape a win past Calgary tonight, though it was in a shootout.

It was actually a pretty entertaining game, but it started out looking really bad. Calgary scored with their first shot on net

Then they were down 2-0 and it looked like it was going to turn into another blowout, but they managed a win. Yay for the bestest worst team in the league!

Speaking of which, Calgary has earned at least one point, in their last 11 games in a row. Not too shabby.

What do you think about Coffeebeans coming back to coach the Oil...? Is it just moi or is this Katz's fingerprints all over again and bringing back the "old boys' club" and firing Todd soon?

Cuz, you should not fire Coach Todd.

Coffey is apparently a "skills coach". I have no idea what a skills coach is.

I also don't know what a 56 year old guy is teaching 20 year olds about skills on the ice. The league he played in is vastly different than today's league. I don't know how involved he's been with hockey since he retired from playing. Maybe he has something to offer. I really don't know. To me, it seems like they could've maybe found a better candidate.

I agree they shouldn't fire Todd. But I don't own the team.

I get the feeling (though with zero actual evidence) that Katz does pull more strings than he really should. I've heard rumors he was the reason we drafted Nail Yakupov. Not sure if true, but if so, he should've learned from that mistake and taken a step back. An owner should really have no influence on anything related to the club, besides owning it. That's why he has a GM, etc.

If he doesn't like what the GM is doing, or feels the GM could be better, than he can replace him. In my mind, that's the only thing an owner should get involved in because there's no one higher than a GM for a team.

The Rangers are so bad right now, I seriosly hope they don't make the playoffs. Almost every player has made numerous glaring mistakes every game for two months.

This was a pretty bad uncalled hit. Vesey was bleeding profusely.

Predators' Filip Forsberg suspended 3 games by NHL for hit on Rangers' Jimmy Vesey

Ricky Nashville gives the Rangers his no-trade list.

Want to guess if Edmonton, who badly need a winger, is on that list?

He isn't scoring, but he has been one of the better all around players they have.

So the Oilers played Tampa Bay last night... and spanked them 6-2.

Wait. Let me rephrase that- So the Oilers played Tampa Bay last night... and Connor McDavid spanked them with 4 goals and 1 assist

Talk about carrying the team that night. Though goal tending was pretty good also.

Yeah it could very much still happen. Though.. they're 6 or 7 teams from the bottom. That's a bit of padding still. For now.

I can't imagine them getting worse. Though... who am I kidding. McD will get hurt and they come in last place.

Ask Oscar Meyer Wiener Bom of the Oil how he's doing.

So, if Oilers do get Dahlin, they better pray he's ready to go from day 1. Then again, Oil suck at devving players in their system anyways...so, he's screwed either way.

Wait. You guys mean it's normal to have a star D man on your team? You can even have TWO of them on your team?!

I don't understand. I thought it was standard fare to have an average-if-they're-lucky D squad.

Even Charelli has to know this, right? His Bruins won a Cup with Chara with Seidenberg and Boychuk as "depth" guys...WTF is it making up a team with ZERO number 1 D-men? Is he on glue or just deliberately hating on Edmonton so much that he wants to destroy McJesus' prime years?

I get it. It must be like in religion, McJesus has to be sacrificed in order to save us and hockey.

Anyways, I know nothing about hockey. Just an ignorant American immigrant in Canadark.
