I agree, until this year there was mostly good natured ribbing.
He & rounder have taken it to a new level as did I. Why is it ok for them but not me?
I don't believe I said the Hawks sucked & I know I said nothing until the Rangers dropping leads was brought up by someone & I said as did the Hawks.
Who knows? Perhaps the Rangers will pull a Kings & sweep the remaining 4. How poetic would that dream be?
:P

And sure...anything's possible. But, I don't see 4 straight wins against these Kings unless suddenly, ALL the bounces go NY's way and we're witnessing the biggest-choke job since well, the Sharks.
Possible...but, very unlikely.

Who knew?
Where the eff is that nutbar anyhow? Or is he so passed out from the euphoria-orgasm of watching Quick get a shutout that he is too spent to post in here?
Trolling Canuckistan
As for moog, definitely passed out, most likely in a dark alley.

Honestly, we should change the title to "the hockey troll thread" because that's what we all do. Every single regular in this thread trolls the other regulars. There's not a single regular who is innocent.

It is unfortunate & fwiw, I started to respond to ack with as this will be my last post (due to unacceptable content) which I thought better of & deleted.
So there is that.
Trolling Canuckistan
I'm thinking that there's a disconnect between hockey talk/trolling and what essentially works out to a live box score update. Everyone here used the thread to bitch and brag about the team they follow, only one person uses it to provide live updates in the team they follow.
I'm not saying that every bitch and brag bring something worthwhile to the conversation but typing the name of a player who scored a goal shortly after they did it doesn't bring much of anything to the conversation

cabby, there's nothing INHERENTLY wrong for you to use this thread as your own "Twitter" feed if you choose.
There is also nothing INHERENTLY wrong with Moog to continue to be troll-like in this thread and insist everyone else is wrong, broadstroke statements, and/or mis-quote us purposely so that he can "win" his nonsense.
And perhaps Ack was responding somewhat tongue-in-cheek since he's frustrated with seeing a "Twitter"-like feed.
But, with what I just said, you could be a good citizen and try to play nice...? That's all. Anyhow, last I'll speak about this matter as it's really between you and him. Settle like gentlemen.

I disagree about ack and rounder having "total meltdowns" other than when rounder tried to turn this into the hockey cawk thread.

Cabbie, this. ^ the twitter thing is getting annoying to be honest. Like he said, there's nothing wrong with it, but it's just bad manners so to speak. No ones perfect, we all make dumb posts and comments. Hopefully we all learn from the mistakes. That's my take on it anyway.
I hear you and going forward I will post with more consideration.
Having said that.

I never had a meltdown, nor did I ever flipout when my team was eliminated. I said it was time for change, because it was, you can look back over the last 5 years every year that my team was eliminated from the playoffs and you will see no sour grapes from me, just disappointment, and then moving on. What I have a serious problem with as I had said even before the playoffs began was the constant live scoring updates. I made light of it at first and even joked about it hoping someone would take a hint, but it has only escalated and gotten profoundly worse. Like BL said, the constant 3-4 pages of posting peoples' names every 30 seconds brings nothing to the conversation, and actually makes it harder for the rest of us to even discuss the game or what is going on around the league. I'm all for debate, and we certainly have ribbed each other over the years, and have had some heated debates as well, but I dont' see how posting posts every time someone scratches their junk or adjusts their cup is relevant to a Hockey Talk Discussion thread.
I defer to your omnipresence.
As I said, live updates have been terminated.
Hopefully there will be more than one game left for there to be updates (that will not be posted) about.

Drew Doughty: On the San Jose Sharks
"You could see it in their eyes and their team and their captains and leaders that they were worried about us coming back"
May as well kick them in the balls and call their mothers fat. Can't possibly insult them anymore than that.

Not that there's any surprise that Joe Thorton was a choker, has no heart etc....
But isn't it now fitting that rumors have him being traded to Toronto. Is there any better place for a choker with no heart to play? Its a match made in heaven.

If Thornton is in a situation where he's not the go-to guy (i.e. Pittsburgh, Chicago, LA, Boston)...I could see him having success.
So, yeah...Toronto is a horrid fit.

I'm seeing Toronto throwing a pile of $$$$ at Stastny...but, again, don't see how he's a solution. They need to be patient.

Keenan Destroys Rangers In Aftermath Of Demoralizing Game 3 Failure
1994 Cup Champion Coach Goes Totally Off, Deems Series So Far Unacceptable
http://bleacherreport.com/tb/ddgCz?u...w-york-rangers
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — Mike Keenan is in that rare position where his criticism holds weight. It comes off as a lot more than simple frustration or armchair quarterbacking that fans and many in the media are known for.
Keenan has earned the right to say whatever he wants — especially when it comes to the Rangers.
And speak his mind the head coach of the 1994 champions did following the Blueshirts’ disappointing 3-0 loss to the Los Angeles Kings in Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Final on Monday.
Keenan held nothing back, literally. He was especially incensed by the Rangers’ demeanor in the locker room following the defeat.
“I don’t like the tone at all. I want more resolve, I want them to be more angry, I want more determination. I’m not seeing it. This is the Stanley Cup Final,” Keenan said during MSG’s postgame show, according to SNY.
Keenan, who coached three different teams to the Stanley Cup Final, and made a total of four appearances, said for whatever reason the Rangers have been unable to play the type of ferocious hockey needed to vanquish opponents at this stage of the playoffs.
“If this goalie is on top of his game you need to do something about it. There isn’t anybody in front of the net. I was at ice level and they don’t hate each other yet. You gotta get engaged,” Keenan said. “Maybe it’s inexperience on the part of the Rangers who haven’t been here before with the exception of two players who have won the cup. The other team the entire nucleus has been there. You gotta step your game up.
“I’m talking whistle to whistle and within the whistle being more determined that what I am seeing right now,” Keenan added.
Owner of 672 career wins and 13 playoff appearances in 20 years as an NHL head coach, Keenan cited specific examples over the first three games where he said the Rangers’ response to adversity was unacceptable.
“You make a soft chip and it ends up in the back of your net with one second to go, soft chip in the neutral zone. You give the game away in Los Angeles twice, I am sorry, I am not buying it,” Keenan said. “You make the breaks by playing smart defense. Two goal lead, on the road, twice in two games, three times in two games and you need to find a way to win. You lock it down yourself.”
With the prospects of the season ending Wednesday night on home ice as the result of an embarrassing sweep, Keenan said there’s simply no excuse for the Rangers being in the predicament they are in, regardless of of how good the Kings are.
“You play with that determination and give them nothing and you need to win the game. They didn’t do it, inexperience and not ready to play,” Keenan said.

I dunno if the current NHL has any more "task-masker" types like Keenan...Sorry to say, it's all about the current flavor of that "players" coach these days.
But, then again, let me wait for Moog to chime in since I'm always wrong.

But I agree, the players coaches have gotten out of hand, Julien and Therrien come to mind non-player coaches, and dare I include BBQ Sauce Boudreau
