I've been pretty accurate so far this tournament.

Croatia over England.
Belgium pretty evenly matched with France. I'll pick Belgium.

England over France in the third place match.
Croatia over Belgium for the Cup.

Match could have gone either way, but France played good and deserved to win.

I read that France's possession time and defense dominated Belgium. Belgium only got like 9 shots on goal and they're usually a counter attack monster. They certainly didn't look like their normal dominating selves in my noob eyes.

Ok I got that one wrong too. England came out strong but lost their mojo after a while.

I thought Belgium started the game off really well, for the first 1/3 or so. They had some good chances. I thought they should have won

Croatia the darkhorse. Should be a good final.

Such is football when it's 1 game versus a series of say, best of 5 or 7.

It's not possible to explain, because it makes no sense. Modric wasn't even the best player on his team, in fact he barely did much at all during the last two matches, including a bunch of mistakes. Awards like the Golden Ball is really just a popularity contest.

How can there not have been a single reply to this in almost a year? Especially after this ridiculous set of Champions League knockout rounds and the conclusion to the EPL?

Damn.. I have been off my game.

Two epic comebacks on back to back nights.. I watched the games... incredible.

Should be a good final but IMO Liverpool is by far the better team and I predict them to win.

I also predict Chelsea to win the Europa League Final.

Also, great final day of the PL with Liverpool and Man City neck and neck. When Man City was down 0-1, I was like sweeeet. Then when they scored the first goal I knew they would win.

As a Liverpool supporter, I hope you're right about June 1! The League was beyond us, given the amount of points we gave away through draws. City is at a completely different level right now

So, UEFA Nations League Semis happened this week.

Portugal > Switzerland. Ronaldo hat trick (no surprise).
Netherlands > England. AWFUL England errors, their own fault they lost.

Also, Women's World Cup has started.

Also, Hazard leaving Chelsea to go to Real Madrid

And they looked absolutely awful vs Jamaica.

They are a shit show. No chance in hell of winning the Gold Cup. Better get their shit together.

I honestly do not know.

Anyone watch the women's team play yesterday? My job hosted a pizza party so we watched the 1st half vs Spain. USA looked good but a little sloppy. The first penalty was kind of bs and the lone goal we gave up was super sloppy. My God though the team plays so silky smooth. Passes are nice and crisp and the defense is aggressive.

Didn't see that game but only 2-1 vs Spain and both goals being PKs (the second PK was lol.. she dove), should be worrisome. The teams will only get better.

Also, I'm still not saying the men's team is any better. They SHOULD beat these teams by multiple goals. When they start beating good teams can we only say if they are getting better.

Brazil v Peru was a decent final. There were times the Peruvians came at them good and for the most part they did ok. But stupid errors vs a Neymar-less Brazil will still make you pay.

Yea, the men did have several good chances, mainly Altidore's wide shot in front of the net.

This should have been a blatant red card, but no VAR in CONCACAF....

Why no VAR in our federation? CONMEBOL has it.

"We are committed to bringing VAR into Concacaf. We know there’s obviously a lot to be done because VAR is not just the technology aspect, there’s a lot of the human aspect as well that goes into the training, the simulators. That’s where we’re committed to starting," Zubiria said. “Already we have a set of referees that’s familiar with it. At the World Cup, they’ve been exposed to VAR, they were actually VAR assistants at the World Cup in Russia, but we need to grow that pool of referees that then we can put in our major competitions to officiate using the technology. The technology is probably the easiest part. It’s more how to use that technology to make sure the right decisions are made.”

Even if it had it there's no guarantee it would be used. Copa was a disgrace, almost all of the games got out of hand and the refs refused to go to VAR

Blindside NFL tackles away from the play, elbows, shoving and this..
