Alexi Lalas has my vote. I think he is nutty enough to get the job done and reminds me of the Italian Coach Conte.
I don`t have a clue who can replace Arena. Except to say that whoever it is will show how important it is for US Mens Soccer to succeed. Yea, a little bit of politics there.

Andddd Real Madrid wins the Champion's League. Gotta admit Juve came out and dominated the first 10 min or so of the game but Real came out and dominated the whole second half. What a goal by Mandzukic but overall Real was by far the better team and deserved to win.

After French soccer club Montpellier apologized last week for selling jerseys misspelling the city’s name, the team announced Tuesday that it would send the typoed batch across the Atlantic to Montpelier, Vermont.
The president of the Ligue 1 club and the mayor of Montpellier, where the team is based, announced the gift, according to a tweet from the club.
“Our office has been in contact with the mayor’s office in Montpellier,” Montpelier Mayor John Hollar confirmed to Boston.com Thursday. “They do intend to ship us the jerseys with the misspelled names, and we are enthusiastic about receiving them.”
In an Associated Press story, Montpelier City Manager Bill Fraser said Thursday tentative plans involve the Montpelier High School soccer teams wearing the jerseys during a game or two, then possibly selling them to the community to benefit the high school.
Montpelier has “a lot of soccer fans generally, a lot of participants in our schools,” according to Hollar. But because of the jersey incident, he recently learned that there are European soccer fans in the smallest U.S. capital as well — including fans of the French Montpellier team.
Hollar also said that Montpelier is named after the French city, though he does not know why an “l” was dropped.
“Occasionally people mispronounce the name of our city,” he said. “I don’t see misspellings too often.”
The French pronounce the name as “mawn-pe-LYEY,” while the American pronunciation is “mont-PEL-yer”
Spelling and pronounciation differences notwithstanding, Hollar said Vermont’s French Canadian influence gave his city a “beautiful name.”

I remember seeing a Poland national team jacket being sold in a Nike Outlet store a few years ago with the word "Russia" on it. It was being sold at a steep discount. I should have bought it just for a laugh.

Well, the US team is out of the World Cup.
This saves us from those insufferable homer coverage on ESPN next year. For some reason, the US fans have an irrational exuberance for winning the cup almost as bad as the English.

World Cup draws for the final are out.
No true group of death this year. I'd say Group F is the closest though with Germany, Mexico, Sweden and Korea.

He is cocky as hell, but he backs it up with amazing performances and goals. One of the few people that can actually back up his cockiness.
Swedish.. has played all over Europe... Sweden, Netherlands, Italy, Spain, France, England, now USA. Wins titles literally everywhere he goes, except for his brief stint in England I believe.
You can just go to Youtube and see his great goals.. IMO his top 2 are his goal for Sweden vs England, and his goal for Ajax Amsterdam.

You were close man! Gotta feel for Liverpool. They gave it a really good for for the first half an hour, before the injury to Salah. Ramos knew what he was doing and literally took out Liverpool's best player. Even without their main guy, Liverpool were holding on until the pathetic mistake by the goalie. And somehow he was able to follow up with yet another blunder..unbelievable. It's a shame as Real didn't look all that good whole game.
