Tickets are up for sale now btw. Cheapest I think is $30.

I got my ticket Me and a buddy doing the VIP thing. Comes with tix to watch their practice session Saturday and tix for the game Sunday - 50 yard line 5 rows up

Total cost per ticket after fees n stuff was $143; expensive, but something I just have to splurge on

The Milan / Inter game at Foxborough is the closest, so that's what I would've liked to go to. Plus, I haven't been to Boston yet, so I could've sold it to the wife from that angle

Wow, IMJ, you got amazing seats, enjoy the game!

on second thought, i don't think i'll be making the trip to arlington due to costs. i'd have to stay in a hotel, pay for gas, etc.

i'd be more tempted if chelsea were playing another european club.

too bad nobody's coming to houston. we got a full crowd when barca played club america (i think it was club america) at reliant stadium.

those of you that are going, have fun!

i went to the man united/ac milan match at giants stadium some 4 years ago. that was so much fun. though waiting for 3 hours to get on a bus to manhattan wasn't.

Don't be hating on the Scots.

Also, excellent game England had against Slovakia. Seeing the game really makes me want to have Emile Heskey back at Liverpool, but not as a main striker. He would be great pair up with Nando.

emile heskey is like a walking paradox for me.

if he learned to be a bit more aggressive and can finish 1/4 as well as torres, he would be a monster. he has the size, speed, athleticism, strength, and a pretty good touch. but i guess nobody's perfect.

but i thought liverpool were in for him during the january window.

i've always like sven. i thought the english press was too hard on him during his time as manager for england and city.

that said, he certainly did not do well with mexico. that squad is pretty loaded and frightening on paper. i'm glad he's fired because 1) i like him and it sucks he's coaching for mexico, and 2) it was an odd fit, really.

he deserves better that mexico. and i hope this means we'll continue to dominate them.

statistics show that he was one of the best england managers despite the criticism and his love affairs. losing to brazil in 2002, a pk shootout to the host and runnerup in 2004, and losing to another pk shootout in 2006 is a tough break. and i thought he did well at city given the short time he had.

he certainly deserved some of the criticism he got as england manager. but that job is always going to get hated on. unless you're capello and win 5 qualifiers in a row.

OMFG I can't believe that first goal that Porto literally HANDED to Manu . Porto should have won. Either way, they are in a good spot to advance

saw the man utd and porto match and the first half of arsenal/villareal on espn360 before passing out.

wtf is going on with us lately? what happened to the team that set the record for clean sheets? we looked tired and unmotivated. except for rooney. it's bad when park, who's always energetic, looked flat. johnny evans may be the real deal in the future, but he looked out of sorts. vidic, for all the talk about player of the year, isn't the same without rio.

dunno about the lineup SAF put in. i understand using scholes in the slower pace of the CL. but i hope to see giggs in the starting xi in the return match. the offense looked so much more fluid with giggs in. ronaldo needs to stop giving up the balls and just standing there. go back and play defense!

porto were amazing from the beginning. they should have scored 3 or 4 in the first half. they deserved the draw and should have won.

Yea Porto had a couple nice cracks at Van Der Sar early on. What I really love is the fact that "United head to Portugal next week knowing they must do something no other English side has managed in 11 previous attempts and defeat Porto on their own ground." I hope that number becomes 12.

Chelsea vs Liverpool next ... I'm anxious over here. All we need is a draw since 2nd leg is at the Bridge, although a win would be delightful. GO CHELSEA

Chelsea 3 - 1 Liverpool FINAL OMFG .

It's over. Chelsea play at home next leg and wow, just wow. In fact it should have been probably 6-1 with Drogba missing a couple chances. WHAT AN AWESOME GAME!

Much props to Chelsea, they totally outplayed Liverpools horrible defense. I think it's clear that Lucas and Skrtel are gone next season.

I still don't think Liverpool is out of it, it's just going to require 3 goals and not give up any goals at the Bridge. Very tall order, but not impossible.

or at least a reverse 3-1 score and go to OT/penalties. it's possible. and terry's out.

speaking of terry, he's a great player and plays with a lot of heart. but the guy is reckless. it's no wonder why he's had so many concussions, injuries, kicked the face, swallow your tongue, etc.

lister, what's the deal with agger? i rate him higher than skrtel. and lucas has really unimpressed me in his short career. i've said this before, but i love watching xabi alonso play. he doesn't score much and just sits back and sprays pass after pass. but he is so fluid, and his passing is beautiful. i enjoy watching him so much i'm thinking of buying an alonso 14 spain jersey because i'll never buy a liverpool one.

Yes Terry is out, but Carvalho is fit so he will be back in and he is just as good a defender as Terry. So really, no change there imo. And no way Liverpool will be able to come back from that. They need at least 3 goals so pe and with Gerrard's groin injury ... if he isn't able to play they definitely can't win. And yea I would say Terry is more of a 'fearless' player rather than reckless. He isn't scared of anything so that is why he always goes for those dangerous balls and such (btw his kick the the face was a high kick by the Arsenal player so really imo it was the Arsenal player's fault).

And speaking of jerseys, my friend somehow gets deals on jerseys. He just got a Terry one (had all the legit patches too) and came with the shorts too for like $30. Sooo yea I put an order in for a Lampard jersey . I really want Essien but he said that one isn't available now.

what's the website? seems suspect. i'm hoping your friend is not talking about a site that's infamous for selling "real" jerseys + shorts for $30.

and yea i know terry got kicked in the face by diaby, but he was also lunging for the ball or something, wasn't he?

anyways, yea. forgot carvalho, who i rate higher than terry, is back. and didn't realize gerrard is out.

Agger has been off an on this season (more on). He is very young, so I think he got frustrated with the play of everyone and tried to do to much.

Lampard can be a bit of a head case without Terry. Terry is very head strong and draws a lot of attention away from Lamps, but I personally don't think Lamps can handle being "the guy" for Chelsea (or even England *cough* last World Cup *cough*).

Also, to the website with the cheap kits.

i agree that terry relieves a lot of pressure off lampard.

i don't wanna get into the gerrard vs. lampard debate, but i have a lot of respect for lampard's game. he's improved tremendously over the past 5 years and despite his form for england (really, who plays well for england except maybe heskey ), i rate him to be one of the top attacking midfielders in europe.

that said, i've always thought lampard's always had this chip on his shoulder and is too eager to prove his worth. coming from a soccer-rich pedigree, coach's son, private school education, cousin of jamie redknapp, etc, i always get the impression that there's some kind of chip on his shoulder.

anyways, yea. barca put on a clinic in the first half. they've gotta be the favorites at this point.

If Liverpool crash out, Barca will win it all. Their pace is awesome and I don't think their is a defense that can contain them for 90+ min.

As for who plays great for England besides Heskey, Rooney and Gerrard do. If you put Gerrard into his Liverpool position, he will tear it up. If Rooney ever gets into yellow card trouble, I guarantee you Gerrard will fill his position in for the World Cup.

I look at Lamps the same way as Rooney. Tons of talent, very coachable, but short tempered and prone to tantrums that impact this game. It's amazing that most of these guys are our age if not younger, so I try to give them a bit more slack for getting too emotional.

Given that, they need to step it up for their country as they do for their clubs.

long absence from a-zine just to see the usual soccer crew still here chattin it up, nice!

had no idea about that world football challenge, sucks that only chelsea and america are coming to dallas. as a united fan i'm conflicted here. its a chance to see EPL team up close, but its still chelsea... hmm.

Either way, those should be some entertaining matches to fill the summer gap.

United are blowing lately, as you all have been talking about.
Liverpool on fire this season in domestic league out of nowhere.
Chelsea up and down season with all that has gone on at their club but I still think they have a realistic shot at the title.

oh and yea FCDallas don't get me started on that, what a slow motion trainwreck. This is what happens when you change coaches/systems/players too many times too soon. No real identity.

anyways, looking forward to champs league this week. I think arse will barely get through, barca go through, chelsea go through, and I'm gonna say Porto go through bc united have played like shite and english teams don't win at porto for whatever reason. Would love to be proven wrong on that one though.
