College Football National Champs Predictions

The interesting thing is that Michigan is still #2 in the AP poll. If there is no rematch, if Ohio State loses in the BC$ Bowl, and if Michigan wins the Rose Bowl.....Michigan might finish #1 in the AP poll. That would be a strange way to win the "national championship."

I don't think Michigan does deserve a rematch either. They lost to Ohio State, and that was their chance. They knew if they won they would go to the National Championship game. Now what I have said earlier is I would almost love to see the rematch only if Michigan does win. That way Ohio State would be pissed and the BCS would be fucked up yet again this year.
Simple 4 team or possibly 8 team playoff is all that is needed. Take away the 12th game that was added this year if people cry too many games. If those players are going pro, they will be playing 16+ games, so what is one more game to determine the champion.

The only way to have a real NCAA national championship is to dismantle the conferences, and have a seeded+randomly generated tournament schedule starting from week one. Of course that will completely change the sport.

You just might want to be happy Ball State didn't score on their last pass near the endzone. Maybe pass interference or a season saving defensive play. What happened happened and same goes for you losing to Ohio State.

Losing at Ohio State should be better then losing at Oregon State.
I do get what you are saying about ND beating USC. Awkard for them to go over Mich since Mich beat ND.
It's going to be a cluster.
Someone is gonna think they were burned.
Arkansas can score some points this Sat vs #10 LSU. That win should be worth some BCS points.
Last time a rematch happened was about 95 when Florida beat FL State in the rematch Championship. At least they roasted them like 50-25 to eliminate some controversy.
Does anyone have the BC$s exact formula? I know some guy figured it out a few years ago and was correcty telling in advance each week exactly what the rankings were immediately after the games. The BC$ then changed the formatt, can't recall if they reveal all.

I personally don't like the BCS so to make it perfectly fair Boise State should go No, but seriously, I am for a 4 game or 8 game playoff. I think I stated this earlier in the thread.
If USC goes and win then Michigan can complain about how they got screwed.
If Ohio State wins, then everything would have worked out fine.
If Michigan went and beat Ohio State then everything would be fucked up. This is what I do want to see, just so they change the BCS to some type of 4/8 game playoff. This doesn't mean I think Michigan should go, but if they do go I want them to win.
And finally if Michigan goes and loses then USC will bitch and moan how they deserved to go.

I personally, think OSU is OVERRATED... seriously, who have they played... that was ranked... Texas? and Michigan (at home), besides that, have they played ANYONE that was ranked? I am a Florida fan, and while I DO NOT think that Florida is the #1 choice for the national title... I do think that USC will SPANK OSU if they meet, especially in a neutral site. If USC loses to UCLA, I think that UF should get their chance. But, that won't happen, and we will get a rematch, in which OSU spanks UM.

I'd also like to see Florida play OSU, so we can see how the Buckeyes do against a team from the best conference in the country. I too doubt it will happen, though. We shall see...

Skip check out the other thread about which team should play. Apparently the LA Times is reporting that Florida will play in the national championship.
War Eagle. I started at Auburn in 02 and hopefully will graduate in May! I know cob3683 went to Auburn also, didn't know so many fellow Auburn people were on here.

The 2 teams, on a neutral field, is a wash in my opinion. The system sucks and my team (Auburn 2004) was screwed far more than any other team since the BCS's introduction, but Michigan at least HAD a shot at OSU. They lost, now its someone else's turn.

I'd like to spit on any Michigan fan who thinks they 'deserve' to be in that game. Florida played the harder schedule (best in the nation actually) and WON A CONFERENCE TITLE. So what if it wasn't until this week that Florida was ranked above Michigan...they got it right when it mattered.
If Michigan wants a rematch, have the Big 11 add a team and they'd get to play Ohio State again as west/east division champs and then they'd be in the BCS championship game.

My take on it:
Leave the existing sub-bowl system in place. Take the champion from each major conference and add two at-large invites, 8 team playoff for national title.
