I have heard his name too, but I think JDR > Fisher in the rumor circles right now. Fisher's daughter goes to Auburn, and his son is set to walk-on at Auburn. He's got a good owner at Tennessee, and a good team right now.. don't see him leaving for USC.

Wow, CP just signed an extension this season to placate the BSU faithful. Based on the experience of his predecessor Dan Hawkins, I think CP should just stay at BSU. With how weak the WAC is, he has a better shot of running the tables and going to the Fiesta Bowl then of SC winning out the Pac-10. Especially, given the ascent of Oregon, OSU, Zona and Stanford. Locker coming back to the Huskies makes them a dangerous team also.

1 Jack Del Rio
2 Herm Edwards
3 Jon Gruden
4 Chris Petersen
5 Kyle Whittingham
6 Mike Leach
7 Steve Mariucci
8 Jim Harbaugh
9 Mike Riley
10 Jeff Fisher
11 Steve Sarkasian
Don't know how realistic all of those guys are or just wishful thinking.. I think #1 & #4 are the most likely candidates. Although #5 (Utah's) HC may be a possibility.

Yea the Jags totally were in control of their playoff destiny in November and majorly chundered down the stretch. You'd be hard pressed not to put most of the blame on Del Rio for their late season debacle.

Well there is rumor #1 shot down.. JDR staying.. Steve Mariucci takes the lead...
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Jack Del Rio said Tuesday he will remain coach of the Jacksonville Jaguars, a decision made after Del Rio and team owner Wayne Weaver met Tuesday to discuss the coach's future with the franchise.

Del Rio has three years and $15 million remaining on his contract.
The scheduled meeting came around the same time the Los Angeles Daily News reported that Del Rio, a USC alumnus, had received an offer to replace Pete Carroll as Trojans coach. Carroll left the Trojans to coach the Seattle Seahawks.
"That's all speculation and hype," Del Rio told WJXT-TV as he arrived for work Tuesday morning, adding the report about an offer from USC was "manufactured."
"Only thing I can tell you is I've been busy working on the Jaguars for 2010, meeting with my staff, meeting with Gene Smith, we're going to meet with Mr. Weaver. We're busy at work, trying to build this team strong.
"All of those other things are a figment of other people's imaginations."
The Jaguars ended the season on a four-game losing streak and faded out of playoff contention.
Jacksonville last made the playoffs in 2007 and fans' discontent seemed to reach a crescendo in '09, when Jacksonville blacked out nine of 10 home games. Ticket prices have been cut for 2010 in an attempt to lure back some of the 17,000 season-ticket holders who did not renew last year.
With Del Rio out of USC's picture, former San Francisco 49ers and Detroit Lions coach Steve Mariucci and USC have been in contact in recent days, two sources told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.
Mariucci works as an analyst at NFL Network, but he has expressed an interest in returning to coaching with the right opportunity.

USC is going to get hammered by the NCAA, which is why no coach will want to go there. The COI (Committee on Infractions) meets mid February and will rule on USC.. We will probably find out USC's penalties in April-May.

Forums are buzzing about radio stations down in Gainesville reporting that this rumor has been leaked out after investigations into his health issues. ![what](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/what.gif)
If true, he better not have pulled Steve Phillips on us.

Kiffin is a total douche. He had more NCAA and SEC reprimands than wins his lone season on the Hill. I hate SC so in a way I'm slightly pleased. Feel bad for UT though, their recruiting is certainly going to suffer.

Strong rumor right now, but he is "sleeping on it." I've seen different numbers, but it is around 3.0-3.5 million for 5-7 years. From what I've read the holdup is he wants a clause with outs to UGA and/or Texas, but Tennessee would be stupid to include those. They are desperate though...
