"1 und 2 und 3 und 54, 74, 90, 2006 ja so stimmen wir alle ein.
Mit dem Herz in der Hand und der Leidenschaft im Bein werden wir Weltmeister sein."

Thats like The Bild this morning saying that, "The Italians were gonna go home tonight crying"

Great game to watch, definitely one of the best this year.

Unbelievable game last night. Totally speechless. Best match of the whole tournament. Italy continues to surprise and they keep raising their level. Their defense was incredible. I don't think either Portugal or France will be able to defeat them.

Grande Grosso, fabulous goal. on Inter for buying him before the WC started.

Good thing I didn't come online yesterday to check scores (or this thread). I missed the game yesterday but caught the re-run on ESPN2 last night. Wow, what an ending. I'm watching the game going, this damn game is going to end in PK's. Then all of a sudden, goal. Germany starts to counter, then Italy goes right down the pitch, and bam... another goal. They just ended the game right there. What a sick ending.

I really had no clear cut team I was rooting for... just teams I was rooting against. I was going to root for the winner of the Italy/Germany game anyway, and since Italy won (and being Italian)... it makes it quite easy to root for Italy. Plus I'm not a huge fan of Portugal, and I hate France... so it makes it even easier

Hopefully it will be another good game today. Gotta get all of my work done by 2:55pm eastern

^ Oh I did not want to see PK's. That's a horrible way to decide a game... especially a semi-final WC game...

I am sure Italy didn't want to see pks either given their record in pks.

Germany, on the other hand, was playing in ot as if the game was going to pk's, where they are 4-0. Too bad it didn't happen.

I'm in the same boat. Who would you like to see come out on top today?

Don't you know you can only ask this question once you have picked a side to win.

I don't have a real preference in today's game although I'm leaning towards France. I love Zidane's game but Barthez makes me wince every time I watch him. I just want the game to be decided in during gameplay and not in PKs.

Not a big fan of France as a country, so that sours me on their team even though Zidane is fun to watch... so I'll be pulling for Portugal.

And as jlukja mentioned, I'm hoping the game is decided during regular or extra time... no PKs...

Your of Italian heritage and you had to think about who to root for? It should have been automatic after the US was eliminated.

I hope France wins today. I don't wanna see those cheating Portugese in the final, and I want Germany to tear them a new one in the game for 3rd.

The Portugese do appear to be bigger fakers and complainers than most it seems.

There is a huge Italian population in Toronto, biggest outside of Italy in fact but also a huge Portugese popluation. An Italy-Portugal final would result in violence around here and alot of it. For that reason I hope Portugal doesn't go through.

hehe, I was rooting for Italy.

Maybe I should have worded it differently. Every time WC rolls around it's a given we're rooting for Italy. I always root for Italy... but I also like to have other teams to root for in case they get knocked out and also to make the other WC games more interesting. This year I really didn't have any other teams I was rooting for, just teams I was rooting against (like France for example), although I was big on Brazil. Every game Italy was in I was rooting for them (although I was also rooting for the US in group games)... but if Germany had beaten them yesterday, I would have been rooting for them in the final over France/Portugal.

France won the WC 8 years ago, so I'll be rooting for Portugal. Figo vs. Zidane, should be good.

Mijatovic said that Real already has enough good players that play his position.

Besides, Ronaldo reminds me of a ricer, all show, no go(al).
