They are hyped, but I think the biggest single-season turnaround in win/loss record is a pretty good reason.

i'll disagree...i don't think the celtics are hyped for no reason.

they had a great regular season. the turnaround was remarkable. the "big 3" actually worked (for the regular season). and it's the boston celtics.

obviously, it's easy to say now that they're all hype and overrated.

but the majority of the hype they got was for the regular season, and they deserved that, i think.

honestly, i don't think they're getting much hype anymore. there's more criticism than praise now.

Ya, but they aren't living up to that standard in the playoffs. If any organization should know that, its the Celts.

I will say though, they aren't responsible for the hype. ESPN, ABC, et al, has built them up so much that its a pretty good story seeing the pre-season fave having so much trouble.

I think Ray is bearing the brunt of that criticism right now.

I think Doc should share some of that though. He's can coach an up-and-coming team to overacheive, but I don't think he's a great coach of talent.

I agree - they're like a different team now. I was just taking issue with the statement that they were hyped for no reason. Their regular-season performance was the reason for the hype.

Even is entitled to have a shooting slump every once in awhile (although now is not a great time for one); that's what the other 2 guys in the Big 3 are there for. I think Doc is much more to blame for screwing around with the rotation in the playoffs... see that ESPN Page 2 article I posted last week. It's a "joke" article, but there's a lot of truth in it.

Ray's gotta shoot himself out of it. I wouldn't go so far as running plays for him, as I think he's a player of enough caliber to get himself going, but he just lacks confidence.

That article is funny. I think its a pretty good summary of what is going on.

I have to admit... Vajacic didn't do so well last night tho... he missed a lot of shots, luckily he didn't miss the 2 free throws at the end of the game

watching the celtics game right now....86-79 pistions with 7 mins to go....Rondo is doing well BUT guy is SCARED to take a shot...he's had plenty of open 13 ft'ers and just holds it...if he can get down a good mid range he'd be pretty hard to guard IMO....

the positive is that Jesus is back, Ray finally found his stroke...

Now it's time to go to work and win one in their house...

Detroit and Boston; both teams played very well. Detroit basically edged them out. If this series carries this tone then Boston is in trouble. D!

Yes Detroit!!!

Awesome, great plays on both sides. Detroit is laying down some massive defensive.

Garnett and Allen...sometimes its like how the fuck do they make those shots, great players.

Yup, too many dumb fouls and they gave up too many 3's. Well, they had a good run, but no home court = no championship. Hope they can hold everything together for next season.

Nah I agree - it's gonna be a long series. I think Boston can win in Detroit and Detroit will win again in Boston.

i don't think they will win game 3. C's have proven they can't win a playoff road game.

well, logic says they'll eventually win one. they've proven they can't lose at home, but they finally did.

i dunno if they'll take game 3. but i do believe they'll win one in detroit.

Good luck with that buddy. Your boys couldn't win one in Atlanta nor Cleveland and you expect them to get it together and win one in detroit ? If they do then they'll have to put together a damn good game plan and execute it, but i don't think that Doc Rivers has it within himself to pull it off on the road.

Who the f*** is that Maxiel guy and WTF kinda Wheaties did he eat before the game?? His block of Garnett's dunk was insane, and after that he was making plays all over the place. Doc Rivers needs to figure out what the hell got into that guy and give some of it to Ray Allen.
