Celtics-Lakers would be a great matchup... If the Celtics get their heads straight and play right I think it will be Celtics in 6...

I understand what you're saying. but technically speaking..you only watched magic and worthy for a couple of years. that doesn't constitute "growing up watching them" because if you grew up watching them you'd watch them from when you were 6 until you were 16 instead you watched them from when you were 6 until you were 8. you actually grew up watching, like i said, sedal threat, eddie jones, cedric ceballos, and nick. like i said just being technical.

any lakers fan that supported the team during the dark early 90's is a true fan.

count me in. I've got a double-whammy- I lived in Phoenix when they were a perrenial power, and was a diehard Laker fan in the face of Suns fans.

I lived through the 80s, but the 90s were exciting for their own reason. Van Exel was my guy. I think most of the games I attended were in the 90s.

However, my dad, uncles, and grandfather always tell me that the 1970s were even darker than that. They got 1 championship, but even with Kareem, they'd be up 30 and then get beat by 30. Yikes.

It doesn't matter when it started, its just the fact that you are one. If you wanna watch Magic, Kareem, Nixon, and the rest at their finest, go buy the Lakers Championship compilation.

Its interesting that the Celtics fans around here aren't gettin the same sort of scrutiny you are. Its been quite awhile since Larry Legend won anything, they had a longer playoff drought than our 90s lakers, and yet people of your same age want to watch LA/Boston as if they were there. Same thing.

I think people are kind of playing into the whole Boston - LA drama because the league and the rest of the media is pushing it.. some guy had a "we want to play boston" sign up at the game last night, but it had a huge TNT logo on it.. so setup

I posted that before the game started. I figured that the Celtics would lose game 6 based on what happened previously.

I'm very happy that the Celtics made it and I am also happy that those damn annoying Spurs lost last night.

Celtics vs Lakers!!! Just like the old days, this will be the first finals that I watched every game since Chicago and Utah.

I wonder if EA will call their next installment of NBA Live Lakers vs Celtics. I haven't bought NBA live since 2000 because that game just sucks now, but if they release Lakers vs Celtics, then I may consider getting it. I had the first Lakers vs Celtics back in 89, and I have it on my laptop now.

Dude me too. 21. Its been awhile, but it doesn't feel that way.

BTW, I feel ya on that Lakers vs. Celtics, I had it for the Genesis too. Tom Chambers was the man.

I honestly don't have the confidence these guys do but the ESPN analysts are unanimous for the Lakers.

http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/playof...?series=lalbos

Abbott (In 5)
Adande (In 6)
Broussard (In 7)
Ford (In 6)
Hollinger (In 6)
Sheridan (In 6)
Stein (In 5)
Thorpe (In 6)

Boston, at least to me, is scarier than that. I would have thought it would be split down the middle but everyone for the Lakers? Hope these fuckers don't jinx it.

Anyways, Savage says Celts in 6, I say Lakers in 6.

dang why are all the games at 9. That is 3pm here, so I either have to leave work early, maybe catch the last few minutes of the 4th if I leave on time, or do everything in my power to not find out who won until they replay it. And being on ABC i'm not even sure if it'll be replayed at night on ESPN.

I think the celts have some tough match ups for the lakers. The lakers haven't had to play anyone that plays with a strong center yet, and i'm not sure gasol is big enough to play physical. Then the celts have the next 3 positions filled with some talent . I really don't know who will cover pierce, especially when he has the ability to take over like in all the closeout games this postseason.

I think the ~week long rest will benefit the celtics a lot more too, as they've had to play much longer series, and have some older veterans that might need the rest.

Who is Celtics strong Center? We have Ariza/Kobe/Sasha to throw at Pierce who will cover Kobe that is the question. Kobe is light years better than Pierce?
