Post #1130 Page 46....I didn't like how Greenmonster didn't even give the Jaguars consideration on winning the game, instead he thought they would just roll over the Jags.

To say that the Jaguars are a mediocre-to-poor team when they are 11-4 and lost to the 1st and 3rd best team in the nfl, and one fluke game to a high powered st louis offense is absoultely insane.

You won't ever have to respect the Jaguars in my book, as long as they defeat your Patriots, and all of you guys start bitching why you should have won the game, I'll just be laughing enjoying myself. You can resent them all you want and say they suck, but when they beat the Patriots, you can't deny who the better team is.

Sure thing - just make sure you remember to post in here and eat your words after the game. Assuming they even play each other (which is what makes your whole little tirade even crazier).

Oh, the injury riddled secondary that we were stuck with for the first half of the season that is now holding opponents to under 200 total yards a game?

Stop mag-racing your football teams and think about the real world for a second

Oh man its my favorite, Jimmy Carter coming in to put his words in for his beloved Patriots.

Look who you played big guy! Oh wow the Jets with Brooks Bollinger and a horrible offense, and Tampa Bay with Chris Simms.

It won't matter, the first half of the game will be 10-7 Patriots. Final score will be 21-17 Jaguars. My prediction.

I was willing to give you the benefit of the doubt and just assume that you saved your snivelling little bitch routine for when you were moping around R&P, but it looks like you're tampon is dripping on the floor here in Ramblings as well. Change it.

I'm not bitching about anything, I just love how you guys think you know it all. You have been the little bitch giving the Jaguars no respect, because you just hear what the media says and follow that. If you recall when I first put why we would beat you guys i wasnt doing a statistics competition. Mr steve and all of you started going crazy with stats, strength of schedule, etc....

It's all about the matchups and we match up quite well.

If you used some intuition you would figure it out that the Jaguars and Steelers are both good teams that could go either way when they play, so they are about equal, and then that good old greater than sign means both teams are BETTER then the Patriots. Understand?

Simms > Leftwich

Here's Shannon Sharpe's take on the whole ordeal
http://www.nfl.com/news/story/9116677

The AFC is going to win the Super Bowl

Seattle runs and throws well. The team plays sound defense and it will have a bye week in the first round of the playoffs. Chicago has a defense that can dominate a game. Carolina, Tampa and New York have won and lost big games. All of this will be irrelevant in the playoffs. The AFC is going to win the Super Bowl. Of the six teams in the AFC that will make the playoffs -- Indy, Denver, Cincinnati, New England, Jacksonville and Pittsburgh -- the NFC would lose to all of them in the Super Bowl, except for maybe Jacksonville; Seattle or one of the other teams could probably beat the Jaguars. But if any of the other five teams go to the Super Bowl, you can start sketching the AFC logo onto one side of the ring right now.

I already saw the Sharpe thing, he's a football player who talks shit and doesn't know anything. I could care less about what the media has to say which you obviously think is right.

To say Simms>Leftwich might have been the most stupid statement in this whole thread

Um yea we do matchup pretty well versus the Colts, the first time we played it was an extremely close game and both defenses dominated, the second time we played, the Jaguars fumbled 4 times I think, and gave up many scoring opportunities and killed drives with penalties. They played horrible football that day.

Leftwich is such a joke that after missing a few games most of the national media seems to think that the Faguars will run with the backup for the rest of the season, even if he is completely cleared to play. I haven't seen a single story that even alludes to a strong likelihood that Leftwich still has his starting role.

What Jacksonville needs (and has always needed) is a seasoned, left-handed, white quaterback that can scramble and is good at improvising. If they could find one of those, there would be no stopping them.

Trust me, we arent saying anything so the Pats have to gameplan for both, Leftwich will start if you see him this Sunday for a little and he is healthy enough

I think we will probably be asking for a 1st round pick for Garrard, but a team that might be interested would be the Lions according to the media.

I'm not basing my comments on anything the Faguars said, I'm basing it on what everyone in the national media thinks they'll likely do based on the results they've seen from both. Everybody really thinks that a healthy Garrard might be better than an injured and rusty Sandwich.

For the talk about how great the Jags QBs are, what is the reason again for them being 20th in the league in passing?

Support your argument with relevant information. Your debating skills are about as limp as your backbone.

And above all rushing YPG stats are IMO the most important when analyzing a defensive line.

I'm not going to do name by name matchups, because it'll take to long and i gotta go to lunch....this is how i view the game

Jaguars special teams are pretty good this year, and their time of possession doesn't give the other team as many chances to score. New England also has a good time of possession so I don't think this will be a reallly really high scoring game or anything with two good defenses.

On Jaguars offense: I think if we use some 4 WR sets with Pearman in the backfield the Patriots will have some issues. The Patriots for the most part will shut down the run, but Taylor might break one 20-40 yard run. Our success will be in the passing game, Wilford and Smith continue to get open, and Reggie Williams in the slot would be very dangerous vs NE pass D.

On Patriots offense: Corey Dillon won't have a good game, just like the Jags running game will be stopped. Brady will rely on the passing game. He will have success throwing to his TE, but I think for the most part Mathis is physical enough to not shutdown but contain Branch, and I think Wright may have trouble with Givens, but will get a lot of safety help on that side. The Patriots will move the ball, just not sure if they will be producing the TD's.

Jaguars Defense: Like I said they will stop the run, Mathis can contain Branch, and Wright will have some problems. The screen should not be a problem against our fast LB's. The Jaguars will let the Pats move the ball, but will hold them when necessary. Will not allow many 3rd and longs. The Jaguars have the Dline to put plenty of pressure on Brady.

Patriots Defense: The Patriots will apply pressure on Leftwich or Garrard, and will for the most part shut down the run. However, the secondary isn't ready to cover an experienced veteran, a rising all star (wilford), and the huge improvement of Williams in the slot. The Jaguars will move the ball as well.

The bottom line: The Jaguars should be able to barely pull it off because the Jags passing D>Pats passing game.
