**Official NFL Football Discussion Thread**
Being that we have started several threads already regarding NFL match-ups, results and Fantasy Football line-ups... I thought it would be good if we consolidate everything and keep it going till the Super Bowl in one thread.
Very interesting NFL week 2:
McNabb going off for 342 yds and 5 TD's after a dismal performance against ATL.
TO (5 Rec;142 yds;2 TD) and Moss (5 Rec;127 yds;1 TD) tearing it up as usual.
Culpepper throwing for 5 TD's....errrrr I mean 5 INT's
Cincy, Chicago, and Philly shellacking their opponents.
KC and Indy defenses stepping up when it counts late in the game.
Very good game at the Black Hole with KC coming out on top 23-17
Carolina living up to the hype and winning a close one against New England
Tampa Bay and Cincy starting off the season 2-0...WOW
Some guy named Trent Dilfer (didn't he retire) throwing for 336 yds and 3 TD's

Anyone see how many points Chicago Defense got.
2 teams that should be worried. Detriot and San Diego. Detroit's Joey is trying to catch Culpepper for the INT lead. Sandy coming back down to Earth. And I have LT on one of my teams.
<---Indy lack of production victim. Reggie Wayne hasn't done jack.
Pickup of the week: Thomas Jones Chi RB. Won't give up his spot to Benson quite yet. Has 3 TD's and a 100 yrd game this year. Was a FA in one league.

Any P. Holmes owners in here? I'm fucking sick of that whore beater Larry Johnson stealing TD's from Holmes. Any of you guys thinking about trading him? I def think johnson is the better back and think he will eventually start because of better numbers or Holmes injury. not even sure his worth anything at this point.

Thats a tough one, i'd go with Carnell Williams and Deuce for sure, Willie Parker will be playing a great defense and steven jackson is playing a pretty weak titans D.

Guess I'll post these here, since Astroboy locked my other thread like a little biatch! (answer my pm fcuker)!
When reading these, please note that I actually spent a lot of time putting them together... (ie, I didn't just randomly place teams, etc...) I took into consideration who they have beaten, key injuries to the team, etc... All comments are welcome, positive & negative.
Week 1's rankings are to the right.
1.2 - Indianapolis - defense looks for real, maybe this is their year.
2.3 - Pittsburgh - no somphmore slup for Rothy. Parker is for real.
3.1 - New England - why didn't they challenge that Davis TD?
4.6 - Philadelphia - so much for Mcnabbs chest hurting, although it was against SF.
5.5 - Kansas City - glad Priest & LJ can get along.. a stud WR would help them a lot.
6.12 - Cincinnati - maybe be a little high, but Palmer is looking for real, and they have dominated their first 2 opponents.
7.4 - Atlanta - tough loss to Seattle, and if Vick is out they will struggle.
8.17 - Carolina - huge win over the Pats, glad to see Davis healthy.
9.7 - Jacksonville - shut down Manning, and only 3 points? tough loss, and DD is gone for the year. Leftwich is as tough as they come.
10.13 - NY Giants - Eli looked sharp, and Tiki is having another great year.
11.18 - Tampa Bay - who would've thought, 2-0! Cadillac is probably the OROY.
12.19 - Seattle - Impressive win over the Falcons, Alexander should always be used like that.
13.16 - NY Jets - Nice division win, although Chad still looks akward, and Martin might miss a few games.
14.8 - Buffalo - Shut down by the Bucs, but, we knew JP would struggle.
15.27 - Washington - I know this looks like a big jump, but no one was giving them a chance against Dallas, and Brunell looked like he did back in the late 90s.
16.22 - Denver - Huge win over SD.. Elam is pretty reliable. Need a RB.
17.9 - Dallas - Wow! what happened, blew a 13 point lead w/ 4 minutes left in the 4th quarter???
18.10 - San Diego - 2 tuff losses, LTs record is nice and all... but he'd rather have some wins.
19.30 - Chicago - NFC North champs? Defense shut down Detroit.
20.11 - New Orleans - So much for that "home field" game.
21.23 - St Louis - That is why they kept Bulger over Warner.
22.21 - Miami - Not a push over like everyone thought. Saban will turn this team around.
23.31 - Cleveland - Yes, I know.. a little high for them, but hey.. they went into Lambau and won.
24.32- Tennessee - clearly a salary cap casualty, but they won't ever go down easy.
25.14 - Detroit - Fans are calling for Joeys head. Garcia would be the starter if he wasn't hurt.
26..24 - Oakland - 2 losses, but they were against tuff teams. Moss was robbed of his TD.
27.25 - Green Bay - RIP R White, very tough schedule coming up. I don't think that they will make the post season this year.
28.15 - Minnesota - Wanted: OC, WR, head coach??? Ouch.
29.28 - Arizona - they could have easily been 1-1 or 2-0, plenty of weapons of offense.
30.20 - Baltimore - I don't know why they had so much hype in the preseason. QB situation is disgusting, and what is wrong with Jamal?
31.26 - San Fransisco - After impressive week 1 win, they get humiliated by the Eagles.. might as well start Alex Smith.
32.29 - Houston - This is worse then originally thought. Look like an expansion team again. Firing their OC was a mistake.

You have Jacksonville a little high, but you being a Jags fan...I understand.
NE, PHL and PIT should still be 1, 2 and 3. Bottom line...NE was due a loss and should still be number 1!

i'm in a bind here about which defense to start:
week 2 i started buffalo, that got me a good old 2 points, so i picked up Chicago, was thinking that i should have picked up jacksonville. buffalo plays Atlanta, chicago plays cincinnati. Now both of these teams offense sucks and probably won't be expected to play much which isn't good for defense. What would you guys reccommend?

Indy's defense is improved but they've only played offensive anemic Baltimore and Jax's offense isn't a superpower. I want to see them play KC or New England or even Pitt before I say they're better than NE.
I think that Pitt might be better than NE but they've played 2 weak teams. NE to win at Carolina is a tough game but I think Carolina is a good team and slipped against New Orleans.
I'd say 1. NE 2. Pitt 3. Indy

Some injury updates from NFL.com
Buccaneers: Williams Update
Head coach Jon Gruden updated the status of starting RB Carnell Williams, who leads the NFL in rushing after two weeks. "He sprained a muscle in his foot. We think he's going to be okay for the (Green Bay) game. We'll update you later in the week when we get more information. We are very optimistic, though."
Falcons: Vick Update
Head coach Jim Mora discussed the status of starting QB Michael Vick (hamstring) on Monday. "My gut feeling is that he'll be OK," said Mora. "Mike doesn't like to not practice. He doesn't like to not be part of the plan. If he's not [ready], we go on." Mora said Vick was scheduled for an MRI and that they'll have a better idea of his status later in the week. Mora went on to say Vick walked with no limp after the game or when he saw him at team headquarters Monday.
Vikings: Injury Updates
MRI results taken on starters WR Nate Burleson and S Darren Sharper showed both have sprained knees. Head coach Mike Tice said both were mild sprains. It should be noted that Burleson's injury is a PCL sprain which takes longer to come back from. Sharper's is an MCL sprain. We'll get a better idea later this week on the availability of both players for this week's game against the Saints.

NE lost star defensive players, and both coordinators... then, looked miserable at Carolina.
Philly lost to a good Atlanta team, then blew out SF... which is one of the worst teams in the NFL...
Pittsburgh, may be the best team in the NFL right now, but I still have them at #2... we'll see what happens against Indy & NE.
