CV Axle about to break?

Hoping someone can tell me if this is an issue that needs immediate attention as i'm not sure what part of the axle this is? I noticed these today as i got a inspection report from Firestone that i need to replace the front struts as they are leaking. So while i was checking them out i noticed this but Firestone never mentioned anything about this during inspection. Please see pics and requesting some advice. Thanks all.

Looking at some Youtube videos, its seems this is the case, CV axle is rusted through. Just ordered new ones for both sides.

Just curious, which brand of axles did you decide on?
Provide a link if possible.

Good point, I think I'll just do both lower control arms while I'm at it, they are just packed with rust.

I mean while you are in there, look at every single bushing/mount in the front end....including the engine, transmission, sway-bar, etc.

Well, I got the axles replaced, both struts and both lower control arms as well as ball joints. It was a lot of work but anyways its done. Now though have new issues. I had the battery disconnected for an entire week working on the car. After re-connecting and starting it, ABS, VSC and Brake light all on. Based on a few threads I've searched, could be ABS wheel speed sensor. Was actually trying to take that sensor off to get the knuckle free to replace the ball joints so maybe it got damaged. But why would the Brake light be also on? I've ordered a new sensor but what else could i do or check?

With how much work you just did in and around the wheel speed sensor..... yes you absolutely either bumped, nicked, tore, ripped, etc something with the wheel speed sensor. Did you wind up disconnecting the connector, and maybe forgot to plug it back in? Or you tried removing the sensor from the hub, but it was frozen/rusted in there? Also if you were to pull the code(s) it would've told you exactly which sensor it was (FL, FR)

You mention the LCA's are "packed with rust". Very good chance a speck of rust stuck itself to the face of the speed sensor so it can't read correctly/at all.

Yes definitely remember trying to get that sensor off and most certainly got damaged. I have a new one coming in this week. It would have to be the FL since i did not touch the FR one. Both connectors are connected so good there. Is the BRAKE light related to this?
