That's usually how it is here, but the last couple of times have been pretty good. I'd expect about 10 to actually show.

I thought you found a job. Either way, tricking out your car like you did will do that to you .

You were coming to visit you sister, seeing us was an afterthought. We know where we stand.

Hey! Not funny.

My mods? The only thing I have going are my headlights, and they should be done before the meet (last few parts arrive today, supposedly). I have been working on them a while, but I've been waiting on these parts...key to the project and very hard to come by. I'd have been done months ago if I could've gotten these parts sooner. I have a few other things planned for '08, but they'll wait until warmer weather and/or a great deal comes along...some things you just can't do when it's 30-some degrees out .

By the way, know anyone who needs a senior financial analyst in Tampa?

not at all! all financial analysis down here leads to IMPENDING DOOM. seriously, the job market here is the worst i've seen anywhere in my life:

- i currently make 1/2 what i made in charlotte (and i've got a great gig)
- at my job, we have college grads answering phones in the call center
- companies are taking their pick of the litter now (if there is an opening, businesses can get the creme of the crop for little-to-no money since thousands of people are applying to each vacancy)
- for example, an acquaintence of mine with an MBA and a masters in chemistry has been out of work for 6 months. he couldn't take it anymore so he moved to NY to accept a construction job of all things

i will most def keep you in mind should something come up. i know countless people down here with hiring power and some pull ... they call me da godfather for a reason it just doesn't look good right now

^Damn, that's pretty bad. There are still tons of accounting/finance jobs here, even with Wachovia about to let the blood in March. But I know who's got the stroke down there, so if anyone can hook something up, it's you.

Besides you, I know a couple of other people down there, and we have some family friends there...transition wouldn't be too bad, and a change of scenery would be nice. If anything comes up, let me know...things won't be like this forever.

Rusans!!! I don't know about the best sushi, but definitely the best for the money. No buffet on Saturday, though (at least I don't think there is). If you want the best, go to Nikko, http://www.nikkosushibar.net/.

Headlight clearing...pretty easy, especially if you have a big oven. I don't, so I had to use a heat gun...if you have to go that route, take your time.

Wait a minute, there's a Papa John's at the meet location...I'm sure we can borrow their ovens .

VINNY CAN'T EAT SEAFOOD, unless you want my stomach to get upset so you can really SEE-FOOD

Chilly, try researching non-profits in the Tampa Bay Area. they often don't list their position openings but you can bet they are out there. of course, your salary wouldn't be too great, but benefits would be good, and so would be the idea of knowing your actually contributing to something greater. at least unitl YOUR job is found

also, register and submit your resume here: www.jobing.com

they are locally rooted in tampa and have made some really strong partnerships. as a matter of fact, they partnered with my frat and that how i was given the lead to the position i'm at now

Vinny coming through! Believe it or not, I'm going to get internet at the house again soon. I'll be checking that out as soon as I do.

Non-profits pay less? Tell me about it...my current employer is technically a non-profit (despite making tens of millions a year).

technically, non-profits can make a profit, but must use ALL those funds. ie. beginning of fiscal year should start out with a balance of $0

We're a hospital, we don't have that problem (having to use our funds). State laws and such, I'm sure (our charter is from the state).

It's A Blizzard

Charlotte's Official Snow Action Plan (O-Snap!) is in effect.

Step 1: Close Everything
Step 2: Wait for it to Melt.

For any recent Georgia immigrants, O-Snap is essentially the same as the Georgia plan, with the exception that we have eliminated the "Hunker Down" step.

You may now return to your regularly scheduled programming. That is all.

My office is empty. These lazy fuckers used an inch of snow as an excuse not to come into the office. Waaa waaaaa, there's an inch of snow on the road in east Charlotte...get your ass to work. There's nothing on the roads west of SouthPark...no excuse not to be business as usual.

I just dropped my wife at work. Some ice, but not bad.

They used SALT .... bastards!! Gotta get that rinsed off ASAP.

Unfortunatly my commute is down the stairs, hit the coffee pot and to desk .... hard to use the, "I couldn't make it in" excuse.
