DUNO, guys, I think the ML55 is a good trade....... as long as its in good-excelent shape. Coming from first hand experience, my MERC ran flawless for 350K miles, as long as you do the maintenance. Those AMG engines are always overbuilt & underpowered. It could easily handle another 150hp, but its toned down to 340 for longevity.

trust me, my ex-gf's family had 4 different mercedes, all were 2005+ models, and each car had different type of problems. she drove 05 C55 AMG, yeah that car was a BEAST but had way too many electrical problems.
Just forget about that mercedes and find something else.

dude! no matter what, the car is 03 ML55... it has 140K miles!!!! that's wayyyyyyyy too much miles... it is definitely going to go through some sick amount of repairs and other craps.
trust me, my ex-gf's family had 4 different mercedes, all were 2005+ models, and each car had different type of problems. she drove 05 C55 AMG, yeah that car was a BEAST but had way too many electrical problems.
Just forget about that mercedes and find something else.

.But you cant say that an 03ML55 is a bucket full of problems. Sure there might be a few lemons out there, like any MFG. But look at the ratings, overall a 4 out of 5. That was leaps and bound better than my 03 LAND ROVER
. Now think about AMG, these things are build with the utmost quality & performance in mind. (most of it hand built by people that are willing to put their signature & name on the line)I figure that as long as it was maintained properly, you can expect to shell out $3.5-4.5K around the 200K mark to keep it GOING STRONG well past the 300K mile mark.

all cars had been going in and out of shops. when dealership fixed something here, some other things pop off broken.
dude, historically, Mercedes has been having too many electrical problems. you can look up on those consumer report charts that list the reliability of cars in different model years. Pretty much every model under Mercedes has black dots til 2009 models. I think the new model GLK is the only model that has been VERY reliable.
I just wouldn't recommend a mercedes that has 140K miles to my friends.

I just had someone look @ the car, She offered me 12.5k. I said sure, but she was in a hurry and has class in West Covina, so she said she'd call me back. She's not sure if she wants to go back to driving stickshift again, so she said she'd think about it.

About the Mercedes, I love the fact that it's a ML55 AMG, but its one year older than my car, and it has 40k miles more than my car. That's just ridiculous, cause I drive a lottttt....
