I see lots of 2016-2017 Limited around, and man that has the ugly face. Since this gen 4 runner has two different front fascia, you got the nice one!
Thanks man, I agree, I'm not a fan of the Limited with all the chrome. I looked at several and just couldn't convince myself to go chrome plus 20" wheels, but I'm super happy with the look of mine, and I already have plans to make it look better and more aggressive.

Yeah. I love the design language of the new 4 runner face, and the market has clearly spoken with how many people are buying. Yours is beautiful, and can't wait to see your mods. Around here only 60 year old Korean women drive the limited. Rest of them, all drive the Sr5/Trail/OffRoad/PRO.
Post some more front pics of yours
How does this 4.0 feel compared to your other 4.0? Does the weight of the truck feel different to you?
Going to wash it tonight, and definitely will take better pics, it was dark by the time I left the dealership and I had an hour drive home.
The 4.0 feels comparable, but it's too early for me to tell since I haven't pushed it hard yet. I need to throw my optima in it and get a K&N drop in filter before I even want to compare because my old truck had some nice getup. I'm definitely not used to the "ECO" mode coming on and off when I'm cruising or idling, but I'll get used to it.
Curious, what was your driving force for the upgrade? I often think about upgrades and whether or not I'd ever go after a similar make/model or try something new.
Nah, lol. Just been wanting something newer with better and more features. I bought my first 4Runner in 2006, bought my second in 2012, and paid it off this past spring, so I guess I was due.... I dunno really, my 08 was getting old and needed a lot of stuff to pass inspection and was starting to show it's age. I loved that truck, just really wanted to get into something with more features, aka heated seats, navi, backup camera, etc. I rented a 2017 Camry when I visited my brother a couple months back and I really liked the technology and playing with all the features first hand, so I guess that helped inspire me, that and the fact that my state inspection ran out at the beginning of this month.
Thanks man, I absolutely love the T4R's, this is my third one. I had looked at Audi Q7's and Lexus GX460's but couldn't bring myself to switch from the 4Runner, plus I did not want the V8 with the GX, and the Q7's are too rare around here to find a good one. But I'm glad that I went with the Premium package with the leather, sunroof, heated mirrors, and all the extra goodies, it's definitely the nicest in terms of features that I've owned of the 3.
Nope, I've owned 2 V6's and never had a need for V8, I don't tow anything heavier than a motorcycle and have no reason to burn more gas. The V6 has always had plenty of power with much better gas mileage
Washed her up yesterday and snapped a couple quick pics. Didn't get to take better ones because I'm sick as a dog right now and didn't want to be outside more than I had to, but she looking sexy though

My parents had an '03 V6 SR5 4WD & it was great, drove like it was on rails in 4H in the rain.
They got an '05 V8 Limited 4WD afterward, I liked how the '03 felt on the road, but the torque from the V8 was nice & didn't use much more fuel, if you kept your foot out of it.

The modding has begun, owned this thing less than a week, already ordered custom brackets to mount my LED bar that I removed from the 08, and I also ordered a OCD console organizer, as well as an armrest storage organizer, the console in this thing is huge, so this will help keeping things nice and orderly. Some small mods, but definite upgrades to start off with. I need to clean up my HID ballasts and wiring before throwing all those in this weekend of next.
Congrats, I really like it & agree on no need for the V8, my 2006 V6 does the job. I also agree on the '17 savings, we just did it on a '17 Camry for my Wife. I like the tech bump from her '07 hybrid.
Those Camrys are nice, I rented one when I visited my brother in Kansas, that exact one, white with the tech package, that was one of the big drivers that led me to take on a car payment again. I was very impressed with the tech, head unit, etc. Loving the truck so far

It is really nice. Gets almost the same mileage as the '07 Hybrid with no 2k battery worry (we replaced the battery in ours in January) and I love how the BT audio immediately picks up the phone and starts playing.
I was at the dealer yesterday, they offered me 9600 for my 06 4Runner with 105k, I sat in a '17 & '18 4Runner, I can't find any differences, the'18 Camry is totally redesigned but we got ours for 6500 less than an equally equipped '18.
So I've owned this thing a month and the modding has begun, since the air filters are different I couldn't transfer my last K&N to this truck I had to bite the bullet and buy a new one.
Truck only has 1000 miles on it so the factory one is still brand new, put that away for if/when I ever trade this guy in.
Nice and shiny engine bay, it's weird working on a brand new truck, all the bolts are shiny and silver. It's officially not a brand new truck anymore, because I lost a clip lol
I still have to clean up my HID relay harness and ballasts from the last truck because they're a bit dirty after being in an engine bay for 5 years, but I did throw in my SilverStar Ultra high beam bulbs from my old truck.
