Parts are piling up, and the will continue to pile up. We are getting hit with 7-15" of snow today/tonight................................. Spring where the hell are you!

My parts guy hooked me up with the intake this past weekend.

I may send it back for a new one. I noticed a dent in the tube that will be seen when mounted. Does anyone else, that has this intake, have this dent? I think it may be normal for clearance for the accord, or what ever car this intake was built originally for, but would like to have one without it if it isn't meant to be there. I am OCD and would know it is there, and if it will be visible when installed it will drive me crazy. I did get a few stickers and the CARB sticker, so I could slap one of those it and you shouldn't notice it. I know it won't affect performance, but it is a cosmetic issue and will most likely cause a mark down on resale due to a "dent" if I were to sell it.

^ I had a similar dent on mine right away and I did a simple return with aem and they sent me a new one. If you paid the price for a new one, you should get one in new condition

Since I bought new slave cylinder to do the check valve delete and reading all the positive reviews of the SS clutch line, I decided for how cheap it is ($30 Heeltoe) to give it the green light.

Keep an eye out for the clips that hold the clutch line in. Mine shot all around the bay and took me forever to find them lol. Great mod though for sure.

Thanks for the input. Will try to remember that at time of install. I don't want to spend a couple hours, again, searching for it like i did with the slave cylinder ring clip for the check valve delete....

I am thinking it needs an APP sensor, but gonna wait til summer to see if I get the same jerkyness in warmer temps. I can't pinpoint if it is the cold that causes it to be worse one day and fine the next. Definitely love the car and glad I made the decision to fly out. Gonna address some of the interior issues once warmer weather is here as well. Should be a new car by May! Been working my ass off to pay this thing off as fast as possible so I can get another line of credit for a truck so I don't cry next year driving it all winter...

Ah,, App sensor is a common issue so I wouldn't be surprised, but most of the time you'll also get a CEL if its having issues.

Sounds like a good plan! we have similar shitty weather here right now, it actually just snowed earlier this week. Been waiting for a while to pull the convertible out!

Hey Breezy, might have missed it but where did you get your LED switchbacks from? Want to get something that also matches.

I bought them off Amazon. One side stopped working so I was able to get a full refund for them. Haven't purchased a new set yet, but I think I may just go Vleds instead. I can look for the seller tomorrow and pm you if you wanna give them a shot. $30 for the pair is what I paid.

I got my switchbacks from Diode Dynamics - pretty good so far almost 2 years out of them! The first set i had the right side went out, and I claimed warranty, no muss mo fuss, merely indicated the problem and they had a new bulb out to me in 2 days, just had to send in my defective one.

OEM D2s bulbs - DD switchback on driver side, OEM halogen on the passenger side - pretty close match

Nothing beats the vleds switchback. Yes it's expensive but it's extremely bright, durable, and looks amazing.

Might have to give Diode Dynamics a try. If I sell more parts to my part out I may shell out the money for VLED's hard to justify $200 for turn signals, then again I did shell out $300 for a piece of tubing with a filter...

Warm weather is on the horizon. Mod season is closing in!

just for clarification, switchbacks are less that replace your turn signals bulbs......and when running normal will appear white, and when signal is on will switch to amber?
so there is no other modification needed to the light...just swap the stock bulbs for switchback leds?

You will need to run resistors to keep them from hyper flashing

I'ive been happy with them

Sorry for the thread hijack Breezy
two other options -
-mod the flasher relay (diy) - acurazine thread > https://acurazine.com/forums/third-g...istors-815219/
-buy a modded flasher relay (diode dynamics - this works with standard bulbs/led bulbs and any combination) its definitely pricey compared to the diy method - link > https://www.diodedynamics.com/store/...signal-flasher

Both of those options eliminate those hot little bastards (resistors) from being placed in the engine bay and/or near the headlight - I already have two of them for the led drl conversion - didn't want anymore

I did the flasher relay mod. Very easy to do and well worth the few bucks for a couple resistors. Also the lights were white when on and switched to amber for turn signal.

I am ordering the rest of the parts to do my coil install in the next couple weeks or when ever the parts arrive. Yes I know, FINALLY! Weather here should be done after this week. :fingerscrossed: I have a question though regarding the RV6-P Strut brace. The OEM strut brace has mounts off it for the APP, Fuse box and one more (not sure what it is, didn't look to hard) but for those who have this or any other aftermarket strut brace, where do you "remount" those pieces attached to the OEM Brace? Or do you just let them hang?

Finally received my replacement intake tube after being sent the wrong one. I do see where the filter comes close to my fog light housing. I may cut the intake tube back an inch or two to help with clearing the fog light HID bulbs I want to install that will come straight out of the housing instead of a 90° turn down. I plugged all the HID harnesses in and wasn't able to get them to come on. I know when installed some on my truck a few years back I had to flip the plug to reverse the polarity. Has anyone else encountered this issue? I really want to run HID fogs to get rid of the halogens that don't match.

After receiving the wrong replacement AEM over-nighted the correct tube. Now I have 2 extras!

Pulled the Battery/Box and OEM Intake out.

Ran the new coolant/breather lines.

Installed a piece of 3M Velcro to protect the intake from scratches.

After no success in removing the OEM resonator in one piece I pulled out my sawzall and cut the lower tube in half to remove it. After that was removed, I was able to feed the intake up from the bottom.

Notice the scratches on the frame where the resonator box mounting bolt was rubbing while I was getting impatient and pulling the resonator out.

To mount the rubber grommet for the intake I moved the grounds to the mounting hole for the old Resonator. (Threaded hole to the right of the scratches on the frame)

AEM V2 Review - Install was pretty straight forward. The sound is great at WOT, and the butt dyno is working overtime. Who knows the total increase in power but I personally feel it did improve the car overall. I won't claim it added 30whp like others have in the past. Wish I would have dynoed the car before/after but didn't want to throw another $90 just to see results.

Pros: Sound, Looks
Cons: Price

Next on the list is HID fogs, Strut Bar.

Still waiting for some parts for my coil install.

looks good man!! i love my aem v2. i had the same difficulties removing my stock intake parts haha. i added foam tape instead of velcro to give even more protection. i've seen a few intakes rubbed entirely through from that location

i need to take off my bumper soon to replace my HID bulbs with CBI bulbs (still on oem ones and i can tell they aren't nearly as good as they used to be), so i think i might do the 1" cut off the bottom as well to raise the filter up a little bit and relieve some pressure against the fog lights (filter is already dented). maybe i'll even spray paint the tube to match the rest of my red/cf theme in my engine bay.

looking forward to what is next!

Had a beautiful weekend here, but turned into helping my parents move and a little work around the house. Poor TL probably feels like the neglected red head of the family....

New roads are coming! Construction driving sucks!

Poor car hasn't been clean in awhile...

Thank god I haven't lowered yet. There would be no way to get in my driveway with the 5 inch surface difference they have made. Can't wait for it to be done!
