I'll cherry pick, if I can, and pull parts off the motor unless this local engine/trans shop will buy it to rebuild the trans and sell. I still have to call them. Once the motor is out, I will pull suspension/brakes. Just need to figure out a way to move the car around if I pull the wheel components...

Yea, he likes to play cleanup with all the black push clips from the bumper removal... now I have to buy more since he chewed most of them up!

Nice to see Q's KBP in good hands I was in the market for a TL-S about a week after you made your deposit or else that sucker could have been mine

Any chance of more shots of the XXR's on the car? I'm putting my set of 530's on with Continental DWS06(looks like you have the same) and like to see a reference for stock suspension before I put the H&R Sport springs on it.

Was a good weekend and made a lot of progress on my old TL. I hit my goal and the rest is a bonus! I find it very fun to pull this car apart. I have learned a lot while doing so and it should help having to replace anything on the TL-S.

Here is how she sits after this weekend

All my neighbors stop while I am working on it and ask if I am building a race car. I tell them I am building a rocket ship!

Yes, RUST and the normal Black Brembo - I am wanting to clean off the rears and spray them before they get really bad this winter if I have to drive her this year. Q replaced both rears before I bought the car and what is odd is only the driver side has rusted. Passenger side is still like new... Doesn't make sense but will be easier to prep for paint. I am STILL undecided on a color to paint them. I may just spray them black to get a coating on them before winter.

Most of them are, they always stop to say hi but mostly to pet my puppy. He is the shop boss around here and nothing goes unseen, even the women out for walks he has to get up and strut up and down the driveway to grab their attention! Im not complaining about some yoga pants and tight shirts!

While surfing the ole interwebs I came across a local craigslist ad for some tires. Looked like decent life left from the pics. Called the guy to go see them. They checked out to be fine, 1 year old Goodyear Eagle F1, 235/40R18 tires w/ 4000 miles on them. I have been looking for a set to wrap my A-Specs once I finish them, so I figured why not. Ended up taking them home for a whopping $120 for all 4! Looks like I have some incentive to finish them now!

Dope! sounds like things are moving along well!!

As for the calipers-they were remans from Advance auto, for some reason they came out of the boxes brand new in different colors. I suspect one was coated to prevent rust and one wasnt. Id recommend painting them both black and getting the RDX caliper covers!!

Packer's need a big win come Sunday against the Giant's... For some reason they always have our number tho. Hopefully we can keep our foot on the gas and not let up like we did against the Lion's to almost lose!

Ever since dating Olivia Munn became public he hasn't been the same. Also, I wonder if he has caught shit because his family issues that surfaced since the last Bachelorette aired where his brother spilled the beans. Highly unlikely but a possibility. Either way, put them big boy pants on and throw for 300+ yards and 5 TD's this week!

Well I think I want to change things up a bit. I am done with the XXR530's... I am looking for something a little less aggressive so I don't have to run much camber. I am still searching for the flush look but a more perpendicular to the ground look, maybe a beefy tire as well. I want it to be a non typical wheel choice if possible.

Let me hear your thoughts!

i went down the same exact road about a year ago. i loved the concavity of the xxrs but it was too aggressive and the ride comfort was bad and i had to drive like a grandpa on dips/turns, etc...i just got over it haha.

i ended up going to the TSW Nurburgrings and while i wanted to get a concave wheel i just couldn't find anything that was flush and cleared brembos that i liked. i pulled the trigger on an 18x9 +32 set which is really flush. plus i was able to go to a 235/40 tire (and possibly a 245 in the future). and i also lost about 4 pounds per corner switching wheels. at the start i was 90% in love with the TSWs but now I'm 100% in love and very happy i went that way!

the other wheels i was considering was the enkei raijin in 18x8.5 +35 (super light, good style, but almost looks convex at that offset) and the vmr v810 18x8.5 +35 (at the time i was getting wheels it was unconfirmed if they clear brembos...now confirmed they do) and vmr v710 18x8.5 +35 (the wheel i really wanted but it was unconfirmed it would clear brembos, but now confirmed they do)

Well I gave up on watching the Packer game for some Mod Therapy. Didn't do much but was able to get the Turn Signal Relay Resistor fix done, also installed some LED switchbacks for the front turn signals. I think they turned out great and the color match is almost perfect. I was suppose to do HID fogs also but the bulbs never showed up in the mail  Hopefully today they will show up. I wanted to swap out my tails for the modded "Red Stripes" and switch the turn bulbs to LED as well. I will get to that this week or this coming weekend.

I did how ever pull the dashboard and strip the interior of almost everything I can part out. My neighbor let me borrow his engine hoist so the motor/trans will be coming out this weekend or the following.

Thanks! I hope I never have to do the dash swap... It will be worth the $300-$400 the dealer may charge. Its not hard, just tedious. Also so much to remove, and a ton of plugs. I would probably forget to plug something in!
