My sister & brother in-law picked up an early 90s Wrangler for $1500 3 years ago. First thing they did was paint it with heavy-duty lime green bedliner, and quite literally beat the shit out of it on tight trails & rock crawling for 3 years.
No rocker guards? No problem.

Solution? Four car garage.

I had to sell that offroad/rally civic, unfortunately. I really enjoy driving on dirt. My friend was going through an "off the grid" phase and renting a farm house at the time and had 10 acres to set up a dirt track on...so I got convinced into building that civic.
By convinced (key word CON), I bought a perfectly good type R swapped and modded civic from a friend who lost the title. I wanted to give him a few days to find the title so I could sell the car for respectable coin. None of my friends liked this plan...so they kicked in all the fenders while it was parked and one of them drew a giant cock and balls on it with a screwdriver.
So....I showed back up to the shop and noticed "something is different about this car". But I couldn't put my finger on it. So I decided to put some tall shocks and snow tires on it, remove anything that weighed anything...transform...and roll out. Best decision ever.
I promptly blew the engine a few weeks (and 10 million jumps, rev limiter bangs, and over revs later). Threw in a mint ass D15B. And then had to sell it because my buddy moved out of the farm house. Or it collapsed. Whichever came first.

Nice. There's always a story when it comes to cars like that. They usually involve friends and alcohol.

The running costs were 0, though. It burned oil...which would usually become bothersome. But I had a BUNCH of used oil and gear oil left over. ZERO problems.
JK. It blew up. I would not recommend my practices.

I went into college trying to decide whether I wanted to be a billionaire astronaut...or a hollywood celebrity race car driver. Shoulda been the latter. All it would have taken is one more women's study class.
But back then, I was all "yo baby, to me you're an object fuggedaboudit".

I always tell waitstaff that I'm DTF after they suggest a meal.
Wait person: "Today, we have the hot wings and milk meal"
Me: "That sounds awful but I'm DTF"
Wait person: "??"
Me: "Down To Feed"

I woke up from a dream today of a random friend having a Grand Pricks white AND a Laguna Blue Pearl S2K parked at my house because they were off to vacation or something.. Popped the hood to LBP and wow what a mess... Rusted all over, dirty engine bay, and the worst part for me was HIDExtra ballasts hanging by a thread with improperly terminated OEM wires just shoved into the ballast.. I was so disappointed ... the baby deserved a better home.
In hindsight, I guess that's more a nightmare than a dream..

I might not be installing the window rollup module. Trade for some type s heads?
once I have the window visors and leave windows cracked for heat reasons, I will pretty much never be able to use the rollup again...plus, I don't like to leave the sunroof shade pulled back, so I have to do that manually anyway.
