I want to get my TSX stockies PC'd white, I dunno why, might look cool and save me some cash from buying more rims.
Had them done at Continental Coating, i wouldnt go there for wheels though. Last time i was in there they bent two of my white wheels setting them down to hard while still hot from baking.

There is a place in vancouver that i hear nothing but good things about, but cant remember the name.

bunch of fucking morons just sitting in the office and thinking about ways to suck out everything from hard working citizens...

^^^ Take a look at Obama's stimulus package number 1.... lots of spending for federal government officials to get all new hybrids, new offices erected in their honor, government only parking lots, and much much more while us tax payers keep on paying.

Kyle - If you remember the name of the place in Vancouver let me know!

Yea ill let you know.

Ever think about rattle canning them first to see if you even like it?

If not they get blasted before they coat them to remove any finish on them.

since they are off the car already, you can just spray paint at home with some duplicolor wheel coater. much cheaper than powdercoating.

btw... left beaverton at 2pm to lincoln city and just came home. raked about 300mi in the loaner so far

Ah, good idea.

Talking highly of the 4G TL could be blasphemy Min. But be sure to run it into the ground before giving it back to RT

So after this International Auto Show 2009 at the Convention center...ive decided ill most likely never go to one again.

There was nothing "wow" worthy in any sort of display. The best cars where tucked away in the lower level at Ron Tonkins Gran Tourismo spot. Under no lighting and no room.

When a Vinyl wrapped STI is better displayed than a Maserati Gran Tourismo S, or a Ferrari 430 Scuderia id rather keep my 9$

And for some reason...cars from years past where displayed IE. 350Z Nismo, granted its a awesome looking car...but is no where near a new release. Or or...my favorite fail of the show...Not 1, not 2, but 3 PT Cruisers in the Chrysler display.... :face palm all day:

I tired making the best out of it by photographing cars that actually drew interest, but with a lack of lighting, and not wanting to turn my ISO to 5 million or busting out my tripod, they all turned out looking like hammered ass.

The only selling point of the show for me was getting to see the new VW CC which will be mine if i buy a new car. That and the free refills on my 4$ coke was the highlight of the show.

PDX just isn't big enough to draw in enough "cool" cars. Someday I'd like to go see the Tokyo Auto Salon, that'd be pimpin

^^agreed the show was pretty weak and jamari's car was displayed like that cuz he sets it up and is anal to the extreme lol

at least the 370z was there - and the M3 looked pretty nice.

nothing to really ooo and aww over. acura unviels its new car next week in chicago? -suppose to be some where between RDX and MDX - a real small market - which is exactly what they need right now with the economy. it was a much better idea to scrap the new NSX idea the was amazing.

i seroiusly wonder about the ppl in charge

Dont take my comment the wrong way, im glad his shit was set up the way it was. Send a message to people at the show. If a local joe can take the time to display his car, why cant these car companies that want to sell cars for $500,000. I did get a good laugh at the ricer line up of Lambo propped up on a "curb" to make them seem lower. And walked over to BMW section, then quickly left as there was nothing impressive or new.

Oh and thanks Nissan for gracing us with the presence of your 2 year old GTR this year. It was nice how it was roped it off for 5ft around it, so you couldnt see anything. Thankfully Perrin's GTR was there to let people actually look at your prized glass tranny mobile.

I started to try and salvage some of them then got fed up with it.

Maybe later on ill get bored and want to give it another go.

For the most part, as long as you drive with your eyes open for the last year...you've already seen what was there.

4g tl is a total luxury long distance cruiser. it was no fun gunning the weaker than typeS engine with inside cabin almost muted like lexus.

surprising thing about 4g was very minimal break dive and acceleration lift. i thought that lift and dive motion was better controlled than my typeS with lowered suspension. also body roll was very neutral for its oem height too.

^^I agree the interiors are beautiful and up there with all the heavy weights (lexus, BMW, MB), but the exterior is just meh! It might look good bagged and on some crazy offset rims and a color matched "power plenum" grill like the Mugen grill for the new tsx/accord.

The exterior should have been a simple evolution of the 3rd gen TL. Instead Acura likes to rewrite the book of the TL exterior every generation..

I've owned the first 3 gens and I won't get a 4th simply on the exterior look alone.

I was thinking about working from home today when I left at 5:30am, but it wasn't sticking on the roads at all in Hillsboro, even though it was snowing pretty hard. It only took a few minutes longer than my normal 20 minutes to get to work in SW Portland.

On the other hand, my wife took an hour to get to work in NW Portland (about the same distance as my drive) when it normally takes her only 30 minutes.

Yeah, I'm from CA too (before that, Hawaii), and I know how to drive in the rain and snow. There are just lots of people with no common sense that should not be on the road when it snows.

received this email today

Brandon,

Yes, it's true. At the request of Governor Theodore Kulongoski, the Oregon Speaker of the House has introduced legislation (H.B. 2186) to prohibit the sale and distribution of aftermarket motor vehicle parts if alternatives are available that "decrease greenhouse gas emissions from motor vehicles." The bill is primarily focused on aftermarket tires and would authorize the Environmental Quality Commission to implement enforcement regulations, likely based on a rolling resistance calculation.

If you want to be able to purchase aftermarket parts and tires from us or anywhere else in Oregon, I "highly" recommend clicking the link and emailing your opinion to the email addresses in the article. Often times, state representatives count the number of emails and calls for or against the bill to determine whether to support it or not.

Here's the article with the people to call or send an email to....

http://www.semasan.com/main/main.aspx?id=62515

Thanks.

got an air compressor chris? you could air paint them... if you really want to powder coat them you can buy the supplies at harbor freight for 50 bucks i think then all you need is the color you want which is cheap too.. and to bake it all you need is an oven to go to 350 degrees.. (dont use your home oven!!!!!) but any other oven will do if its big enough to fit your rim in it

I think i am going to rattle can em first with some duplicolor and drive on em once this crazy winter weather passes to see how I like em, then if I do then I'll have em professionally PC'd and get new tires, my tires on there now have maybe 25% best tread life up front, just enough for a feeler lol

Missed alot of the chat today...Was up in Vancouver working on my fenders a bit.

Flared out my fronts a little bit more by removing the calipers of the BBK so we could roll all the way to the front of the fender. Also had to do a little trimming/grinding of the corner of the inner fender.

With all that said and done and a test fit of my Volks, all i can say is it looks soooooo good.

The rears are perfect without having to touch them with the 16mm spacers, making the rears at +23 offset.
With the massaging we did to the front its tight but still fits with a 10mm spacer, making the front at +29 offset.

But stupid me didnt take a pic of the car when the Volks were on the same side, or when they were both on the front. I do however have pics of my ASPECs on the car...just just imagine them with 6mm lower offset. And less dirt on the car...
