If I wanted to I could spot Sway very quickly, without driving past his job.

Just introducing myself!

Hey guys...been a long time lurker on this thread. Just wanted to say hi and introduce myself. Drive a 2008 CBP Type S around South Sac and Elk Grove. I got to Sac State so you may see driving around. Mostly stock minus LED DRLs and Blue Interior Lighting.

I was wondering if you guys know of any shops that do 3x3's for Tranny Flushes around town? Or any shop that does good work for our Acuras? My car just hit 60k so a flush is a must sometime in the near future.

P.S. Saw a beautiful Kinetic Blue Type S 08 With clear headlight diffusers going over the I5 Bridge to the Pocket area Friday Dec 2nd. Any one of you here?

3x3 DIY, I've done my own, plus members are knowledgeable on here. Aznboi2424 AKA Gary has helped me and so has Freeatlast AKA Teo.

Welkz to the forum, they had a meet yesterday.

Welcome! I go to Sac State too so if you see a modded NBP CL driving around, give me a honk or a wave.

As for the 3x3, just do it yourself. It's just like doing 3 oil changes although the 08 trannys should hold up well so I'm sure you would be okay with just doing 1 tranny fluid change. If you need help doing it yourself, let me know.

Thank you for the warm welcome guys!

I was just reading the Red Line ATF Racing F Thread and it was a little disturbing that some folks that went with the pure Racing F had Transmission failures. I'm thinking I wont go beyond Red Lines recommended D4 Fluid. Another big problem is that I don't have the tools needed for a Transmission Flush. I've owned an 02 Type S previously and the transmission was surely on its way out as it sputtered on low and mid level rpms, want to prevent that if possible on my 08.

When do you guys meet and where? I may stop by and formally say hello.

I researched the Acura brand after a buddy related to me that Acura sponsors Golf

Damn all the new guys coming thru, going to have to set up a meet again looks like LOL

As for good mechanics I have a guy off of sunrise that I usually go to, and I also go to Expert Automotive in Elk Grove, honest guys that only work on Honda and Acura's.

The 2008 transmissions aren't even close to as bad as your old TL's tranny. The new Honda ATF DW-1 is supposed to be a synthetic so there's really no need to special fluid in your application. As long as you change it regularly, you should be fine, you don't even need to do a 3x3.

You mentioned transmission flush, but flushes are not recommended by Honda. Just a simple drain and refill fill suffice and like I said earlier, that is very similar to doing an oil change.

We just had a meet on sunday so we might not have one for a little while. Keep your eyes open on this thread and in the Nor Cal thread. Usually we'll make an announcement or sign up of some sort with the date, time and location.

Welcome! I think your the first RL guy in the area on this forum. Love the RL!

As for local Acura Accessories, the Elk Grove Acura dealership can take care of you on that.
If your okay with ordering online, contact Tim at at this link here: https://acurazine.com/forums/sponsored-sales-group-buys-10/found-lower-price-acura-parts-838183/
or send him a PM if you can. He says he'll beat any dealer's price.

I don't think I've formally annouced that I did this mod on here before because I wanted to keep it quiet but it's been a while since I did it and some of you have seen it already so I'll just post up a pic.

I'll let you test fit them. Some people don't have enough space behind the wheels to clear the stock studs.

I'll PM you about the BBK.
