I still think Citi has the best rewards package.
They invented it for Banking...they also invented the ATM machine.
Innovative company IMO.
I enjoyed working for them and definitely believe in the company.
Hasn't always made the best mortgage portfolio investments but that's another thing.

Well I worked there 5 years so everything is stuck in my brain.
I like that card too.
Just never been a fan of cash back credit cards because the "pay rate" is always less than a points system.
Diamond Card used to pay 5% on select purchase categories and 1% on everything else...but lots of bonus point offers.
Target was 7% at one time...I was like damn! I got to go get me some household products ASAP!!!

Costs a company more to give you "cash" then something else like gift cards, or stereos.
Also...Thank You Network also offers "statement credits" which I consider just as good as "cash back."

hmm. so your card is good? im gonna look into that and see what the point return rate is.
Kevin, if you want a citi account, get the ultimate savings account. you have to apply for it online but they have a whopper of a rate at 1.50% APY. I mean shit thats better then a lot of CDs! if you dont believe me, go ask wamu what their CD rates are or look at them online.

Potential for a bad experience...
Citi is not a CU.
You should keep both if you can.
Both do different things. If you want an account I can get you hooked up and you can talk to my friend in my last office over the phone.
He can break everything down and I can get your service charges waived for "being a student."
Let me know if you want me to have him give you a call or if you want his number to call him.

Got to take a look at the rates...because from my experience selling credit cards cash back programs don't pay as much.
Which makes sense to me..
For example...looking @ Thank You Network.
$100 gift card or product = 10,000 TY Points.
$100 statement credit = 14,000 TY Points.
$100 cash back = 16,000 TY TY Points.
Costs companies more to give you money that you take elsewhere.
noah, i read up on your diamond perferred reward card.
"Earn 5 ThankYou® Points for every $1 spent on purchases at supermarkets, drugstores and gas stations for 12 months, 1 ThankYou Point thereafter"
so even if you get 5 points for each dollar, which you dont after 12 months, you will need to spend 2000 dollars to get 10,000 points.
if i spend 2000 dollars in those same locations, persuming i get 3% cash back, i would get 60 dollars cash back. i have to double check that i get 3%. it might be 2% now.

Their rates suck.
See the reason is that if you open an account online...technically you will have no branch of domicile.
Which means...that when you have a serious issue...you are not going to get as much attention as your "home" branch.
Each branch is operated like a business and has the clients of their branch the most in mind.

i think so. is that what it says on the website?
well maybe its good to open like a checking account at a branch then open the ultimate savings account online after. but every citi customer should get that account.

Well I have everything with Citi and have an ECA account package.
That gives me an extra 1000 points / month with my setup on top of what I spend with my credit card.
So I earn about 2500-3000 points a month.
Yeah...that's pretty standard practice.

But trust me...because I've dealt with these issues for years.
You want to open your Checking Account at a branch. That's your "mother" account...takes care of everything else.
Servicng...reverse fees, pricing...all tied to your checking account.
Once you open your Checking account at a branch.
Then you go online an open the Ultimate Savings Account or any other account you wish.
No issues because your an existing client...no verifications needed and everything processes smoothly.
Subsequently...everything you open after your checking account will automatically link back or domicile back to your main branch.
That way your total relationship can be realized and taken advantage of.

That's the case with lots of people...
Citi...also the No. 1 issuer of credit cards.
Anyways...I agree.
Bank shit is boring...and I'm looking to get a job in Banking again!
FMYLIFE!
Wells...stay away from Wells. Pit vipers!
Once you sign up...see you later Mr. Nice Banker and friendly bank staff.
They are on a crazy widget based compensation program.
If they don't get x amount of accounts daily...they get yelled at and put on performance review.

noah, i already get points from grouping my checking, CC, savings and CD together. its call a CitiAccount or something like that. no real fancy name to it. I get like 100 TY points per month. not a lot, but better then nothing.

A secret I found out is that you can register for Expedia and then link that up with Thank You Network as another sponsor account.
That allows you to get this crazy "fixed point" flights.
Where for 20,000 points you can fly anywhere in the continental US.
60,000 to Asia.
We are talking about block geographic destinations.
20,000 = $200
You can't fly to New York for $200.
I didn't either...but that'll change.
lol fine fine. you drive a 3G so it looks like your right.

as long as you like your job and your good at it.
hey look at me, im going to school as a mech. engineer and i dislike math. oxymoron?

Haha...well.
Engineering jobs are a solid way to go!
I wish I had the patience to do that.
Entry level salary range bums some people out but it gets a lot better with experience.
You'll be set with a degree like that.
Then...you can marry another engineer and have little engineer babies!
Do the math!

i love math ill do it for you.
Just cause I drive a 3g doesnt mean anything. never judge someone by their stuff. You never know they could be in a lot of debt.
That's not my family's case, I was just saying. But also, I didnt pay for the TL. I'm just the one that makes sure that i have enough money for gas, repairs, insurance, etc... And I'm also the one that makes sure that I pay all my bills on time, never been late = )

They were bummed at first but I don't know what they were expecting.
Like 100k out of college...I wish!
Supermodel...just some arm candy.
You are going to be in debt because she isn't going to work.
Once you bake your toast in her oven.
Her oven will be all dirty and that's it...
Dirty oven supermodel pirate wenches.
lol
haha that whole engineer family thing reminded me of when I was planning on being a nurse and the girl that I was talking to is going to med school to be a doctor and then my best friend was talking about taking pharmacy, and then my other homegirl was also taking nuring. I was like wow we shoudl all work in the same hospital we'd run that place...
Now me, my best friend are in business and my other homegirl wants to be a social worker.
Now me, my best friend are in business and my other homegirl wants to be a social worker.
But also, I didnt want to deal with having to get into a nursing program to get my BS. It's such a popular career that so many people enroll for the nursing programs that it's essentially a lottery system to get in. Right now, the new nursing grads are having a hard time finding jobs due to the economy. Since budgets are tight hospitals are looking for experienced nurses becuase they dont want to have to spend the money to train the recent grads. At least thats all the info i gathered when I interviewed a bunch of nurses last semester, and did a bunch of research.
I kinda want to be a Pharmacist though... agh i dont know

wheres kaleo with his CD? i what those bishes to start swarming my car like he said. lol
lol and people are always banking...!
hahaha i dont think her sisters played a part in that at all...
and yes, they do make mad money. I think about pharmacy becuase I liked chemistry and math. I havent taken a college chem class yet so I'll have to see how I like it after that class. Everytime I tell people my favorite subjects are math and chemistry they always say "pharmacy!"
