Research the 09+ STi's, I've read about engine issues and Subaru not issuing warranty's due to "abuse".

 

yea my next car im doing research because if I did do research for the TL and found out about the transmissions I wouldnt have bought one

 

First replaced the master cylinder and now I think it's the VSA Modulator, but I don't have money for that. I was pretty mad about my hit and run, but then I kinda got over it. My car is just whatever to me now. Made the mistake of letting the dealer wash it a few times and now it's swirls galore so I don't even try to wash it myself anymore. = /

 

Your insurance didn't fix up your car after the hit and run? If your paying out of pocket, you could probably pick up a VSA modulator yourself from the junkyard. Just make sure thats the part thats going out.

Swirls can be fixed with some polish, compound and paint correction. You'd be amazed how your car would look after a wash, clay, wax and polish.

 

hit and run only scratched up the bumper so I'm just gonna leave it and cover most of it with the aspec lip when I get the money.

LOL did you think it was from the accident? It's completely unrelated. Honda is recalling like 400,000 Odysseys for this problem and this is what caused BLACKURANY or BLACKURA (whatever his username is) car to get totaled. It's been an on-going problem for my car, but it wasn't this sever before so no one could really figure out why I had no pressure when I would hit the brakes. Acura put out a TSB for it in 2006, i think, but no recall for any car except for the Odyssey.

my bad about posting my 105,000 maintenance and SRS on the brainstorming thread. i know its just for the meet of 2011.

i always receive shit from EG Acura but i never go. i aint paying them jack! only go in for the free SRS fix. for the parts that recommend changing, ill just buy the parts from autozone or pepboys and have them done by my cousin's uncle shop for a whole lot cheaper. anyway they should give me a loner car regardless how my front looks. i dont think anyone working at the dealership will know rite away if is a CL front or a TL front hahaha!!!

 

how much does ur uncle shop charge for say timing belt and water pump and a crank pulley install?

 

if i remember correctly, he said $300/$400 for everything. timing belt, water pump, pulley, etc. just buy the parts that needs to b change and he'll just charge u for the labor which i mention to b $300/$400. ill go ask him sumtime next week.

i donno if $300/$400 is good 4u flipster, but way better than wat the dealer asking price $1200+!!! i rather give them the fingers

speaking of dealer work, I got a coupon for an oil change from Niello. 21.95, free wash (not recommended) and vacuum and inspection too, I think. Its a good price. Anybody want it?


Carlo, if there's a TSB on it the dealer might fix it if you complain about it and bring it into the dealer.

 

the dealer are asses if u dont have a relationship with them and u ask about a TSB they will be like uh nope, u didnt even check so how the eff do u kno... This one person at EG did it to me but then I talked to the dude I know and he cleared it up...
