THE Bay Area Chat Thread (Part Trois)
Cool sounds good. I also wanted to install that one work-around so my OEM navi voice still works. Hope your guy can do that too. Amazon has the gear for a lot cheaper than what people asking for.
As for the meet in SF... let's set something up. What to eat?

They got Happy Hour every day, all evening and it's in a nice location.
Come one, come all who aren't scared of driving to San Francisco!
firestone lifetime alignment ftw!
they still honor my lifetime alignment when i go into winter mode and am wanting stock specs.
with the AMEs, and being super low, they wont touch it, especially since i want them to set camber to -2.2. firestone only does factory spec alignments now

Def don't want no blowouts in the hills. It's bad enough not being able to put on chains
Needs some input... picking up a bike within the next month.
Leaning towards this one:
2005 gsxr
3400$, comes with gear that I can sell for 1-200. New motor ~3000 miles & clean title. Like the color too. Downside is it needs a new rear tire & its 2 hours away

2005 R6
~2900$,salvage title, fairly low miles, needs a new. Love love love the white/white. Downside is it needs a new front axle (just to be safe), cheap fix, also the cheapest out of all my options

2004 R6
3000$, like the color but its been down, havn't checked this one out in person yet. Semi high mileage but 20k service already done.

2004 600RR
3000$, do NOT like the color, but low mileage, new tires, etc, clean title

Leaning towarsd my #1 option, a little pricier, but its clean and super low mileage

my friend is selling a kawi
I wouldnt touch anything with salvage
here some things to look for I did the same when I bought my bike
some bikes are going to have lots of miles
some bikes have been downed at least once
there service on them are expensive the first service for when i bought my bike brand new was 800

^I don't see what you're suggesting?
Clean title =/= never been down
Salvage =/= been down
DMV salvages bikes for as little as fairing damage or attempted theft.

i think it all depends do you want to resell later on? cause if you plan on keeping the bike and lets say making it a stunter or a track bike then salvage is fine. cause like you said sometimes fairing damage and theft bikes end up being salvaged. but it sure helps to have a clean title when you sell it later on.
Im suggesting dont get a salvage because if you are trying to resell later on like Phil said its going to be harder to sell just like a car. It depends on what you want to do to it also.
If i was to buy another bike I would get a gixx because the R6 sits up to high IMO. Look the gixx is an 05 with 3k on it plus its clean title. for only 3400 and it comes with gear, thats a better buy
I had a RR a loved the exhaust under the seat.
my bad I was on meds last nite

yea he got in on the group buy that happened last year and it took forever to get them. they are THE best coilovers out there for the accord/tl/cl.
im going with F2 Type 1. i chose type 1 because i dont need the dampening adjustability at my height, im going to be so low that there is no way i'd be able to ride on anything but full stiff. so that saves me 250 bucks from the type 2. and in the future i plan on changing the F2 springs out for some Eibach ERS springs. the type 1s come with 12kg front and 6kg rear spring rates... i'd rather have 10 or 12 front with an ERS spring and 8 or 10 in the rear with ERS springs.
there is a SLIGHT chance i may come up on some AMRs but its a very slim chance. the guy i want to buy them from (CG2PROJECT)(the other black accord from socal that always come to acurafest) wont sell his coilovers until he sells his motor/tranny. so if by some miracle he sells the motor before the end of the year, i may buy his AMRs.

@Vimal: do you know for sure these will fit 2006 Honda Accord v6 Coupe? even if we just have to change the top hats (i.e. use stock top hats?) if this is true then i want to hop on these for my friends Accord!
The road to E85 will soon be a reality!!!! Mwahahahahahahaha...corn fed bliss....
1200 cc injectors (check), mini battery kit (check), true cai (check), straight piping/no cat (check), 255 lph fuel pump (pending), zeitronix wideband (pending), E85/91 pisstane dual map tune (pending). Expecting all to be done by January 2011!!! Happy New Year!!!

the BEST option i would recommend your friend find a set of pillowball top hats (they ARE sold separately) that are made for the 7th gen. then we can easily do it. and I would do the work for you at my dads shop for a slight fee.

they will fit if you swap top hats. but here is my concern. i tried swapping to my OEM top hats and it didnt work because the spring didnt fit into the grove where the OEM spring would normall sit. OEM springs are cone shaped where as these springs are straight like a cylinder. if your friend has a 7th gen top hat sitting around then i wouldnt mind taking one of the coilover off to test fit it for you.
