So whats the deal with e85? Why are you tuning specifically for it?

The recent mixing of gas has made my MPG take a shit lately. I drove to WI on a random trip and found unmixed 92 and my milage on that take was 340mi compared to my norm of 250-270.

Is it just less explosive? and therefore better for turbo apps because it doesnt detonate? Just curious.

ASUJosh1 - I understand were your coming from. I don't take it to heart. Every company has there little issues when they first open up. But we went from those days to being one of the biggest online stores out there. We have tripled in size for a reason

Give us a shot, I'll take you up on that beer. Lets setup a meet at old chicago or something in the area!

Everyone down?
Yes for sure when.

I hear a lot of praise about Mobil/Royal Purple/Amsoil... so I believe its good stuff. Ive only ever used Royal Purple myself so I cant vouch for the others, but Amsoil should be one of the top-of-the-line consumer level oils.

I highly recommend ENEOS Oil. On our dyno a WRX picked up 7hp just from an oil change. I keep it in stock along with filters for the TL.

Eneos is a GREAT oil. Everytime in my evo when I go to change the oil its still right up at the line!

BTW, the TL catch can kits will be available by the end of next week!

E85 is 106Octane and burns cooler. Colder burning fuel = colder air. Colder air/combustion makes for more power.

E85 is currently 1.69 per gallon. E85 uses about 30% more fuel, so this will decrease your MPG to high teen's but it's pretty much race gas for 1.69.

**Because of the 30% more fuel needed to run e85 PLEASE DO NOT PUT THIS IN YOUR CAR UNLESS YOU ARE TUNED..

Also, we use e85 in pretty much all our cars. It made over 100hp on a EVO we tuned here couple weeks back!

Yea, we switch fuels and retuned. Same PSI and everything made 100hp.

We would have to find out a good source of tuning. The Neo supposedly doesn't work because the ECU will relearn and overrun the neo.

I'm thinking though with E85 it will be so severe of a change the the ECU will not have enough power to overrun the neo and will run with the neo.

No it means that were going to have to rely on AEM F/IC for tuning or whatever I can come up with. I have some spending money around so I'll see what I can come up with!

What up?

I posted a couple of times in early summer, but been busy at work since then (trying not to be one of those people that get laid off in these hard economic times). Anyways I ended up buy an 06 Mazdaspeed 6 instead of an 04-05 TL. Since I cant find a Speed6 forum that is local I'll just continue to hang out here and troll this one. BTW does anyone know of a nice empty space where I can drive my car. I'm working on getting my shifting down so I don't kill it every time I'm at a light or stop sigh. Thanks in advance.

Aldrich arena is pretty dead most of the time. I don't think anybody would mind if you went to practice driving there. I went there once after I came outta best buy and parked in the middle of the lot and changed out all my speakers lol.

just want to check, who all is doing the honda meet this sunday?
potential plans?

friday- University, if not to cold or whatever? pic opportunites for everyone who wants to though?
sat- seafoam or I might just go check out MAP, hopefully install those footwell leds..
sun- honda/acura meet (chance to take pics?)

no one is likely to be able to or want to make it to everything, but at least we can get some time in before it starts dumping snow.

Man, I was totally thinking of calling you the other night to see if you wanted to use the pad in exchange for playing with the cats while we are in STL. We left last night, got here at about 2AM and as usual, it rained on us all the way through Iowa. Oh well, I'm gonna go drive me some Rx-8s while I am down here, if I find a good enough deal I might just bring the 8 back and leave the TL here...

I'm actually pretty busy tonight, and I can't miss my football on Sunday. Actually, I'm busy tomorrow night too - but I'd like to make something happen during the day?

Anyone up for something on Saturday? Maybe we can meet up at your place Lude (is it adam?) and get your projects done and maybe wash a couple cars while we're there.

Let me know - with all this talk about snow, I don't know how much time we have left.
