I was planning on going to Uni tonight too, but I say we do all go next friday.
Instead tonight me and a friend installed the Comptech exhaust.
It sounds good and looks great

it's been a bit quiet on here lately...how has everyone been?

also, quick question - when changing the oil has everyone been going by the MID or actual mileage?

I go by MID. Usually I use synthetic, but I think I'm going to start using dino oil again. Can't see paying $50+ to change my oil as often as I do.

Hopefully the insurance company hurries up - there is someone in the BM selling their a-spec kit. It's actually attached to the bumpers and all, so that would take care of the rear bumper. $450 for the bumpers and full kit. SSM color too, but he says it will need painting.

Parents have been in town, been hanging out with them. Not a whole lot going on with me though, I heard that Jorge was going to be working on KKs car, but have no idea if it actually happened.

Sweet... I have been checking the hondacuraworld site, and found the lipkit to run 849.00. Well, I haven't been successful in finding Tim's group buy thread, so I posted about someone linking me to it.

Well, come to find out that sometime after I checked this morning, the aspec kit went on a group buy. Woohoo - $799.

Also the insurance called me today and said that the damages matched up to the van, but they were still waiting to speak to them about it (to inform them of the results)

LMAO....

So I noticed a few days ago that I have a crack in the drivers side tail on my truck. Just another reason to change something out since now I see those damn things everywhere i go. Literally.... if I goto Home Depot, Menards, etc, I am never 3 of 4 parking sposts away from a dodge ram.

I bought these lights, as well as the matching 3rd brake light for above the cab.

Damn 8500k That's gonna be real blue huh? I just ordered some 6000k because my stock ones have pink eye.

BTW, got rid of that horrible noise from the headers. It became really loud and unbearable...I began to notice it wasn't resonance lol...it was the headers rattling against the exhaust heat shield at certain RPM's so I got rid of it. Nice and quiet again! Whew, I'm glad the noise wasn't coming from the flex pipe.

White rice?

Soo... I see how it is. Nobody posts on here (maybe 1 a day?) - but someone posts a joke about rice and everyone mysteriously is back on...lol

So I got my lights ordered today (gee.. more lights). Aspec kit will be ordered before 9/8 - just hoping insurance covers it rather than me floating it on a card.

And I'm pricing out some axis hiros again. There are some Axis gravity's in the BM for $850 shipped, but that's for 18's. I'm guessing I'm going to want 19's when I do decide to pull the trigger. Anyone have any input on that? Also - anyone know much about rim offsets? I can get the hiro's for 25-35 and 45 offset. I'm guessing 45, but not quite sure. Is it specific to the car, or partially to the look you want?

I really wish I could just get 18's because it will be about a hundred/wheel cheaper. But I can't see spending over a grand for wheels to get an inch.

Jorge - you got 19's right? Hows it for ride? You think 19's all the way, or would you go with 18's if you could get a good deal on some? (and didn't have the 19's already)

18's on that Type-S looked really small, Jorge's 19's look perfect on that body style. I would invest the extra cheddar and get the 19's.

As for offset, I know the body style I have requires a high offset in the high 40's or low 50's, so if I were a betting man, I would go for the 45's to be safe.

Basically, the offset is how far from the centerline of the wheel the mounting point is. An offset of +45 means that the mounting point (where the wheels touch the brake rotors) is 45 MM toward the outside of the car from the centerline of the wheel. A lower or negative offset would make the wheels stick out of the fender like those low-rider cars with the 12" wheels on them. A higher offset means that the wheels will be tucked further under the car. If you go too high with the offset you will have a problem with the wheels rubbing on your sway bar/rack and potentially not clearing your calipers.

I can't help much since I always forget which gen car you have. But - google and the owners manual can be your friend. Otherwise you may even be able to stop by an auto parts shop and look in one of their bulb books they keep tied to the rack of bulbs. I know it has a few different bulbs in there, but not sure if it is as specific as trunk/doors and such.

If you still have problems, let me know what year your car is and I can google it for you. I'm not sure if it is me, or just my dad - but he can't seem to find stuff using google for the life of him. He'll call me and I'll have the answer within the first couple of links.

BTW - you should be going all red dude. I never have been a huge fan of green (unless you have a green car that is). Red and black looks stealthy. Green just reminds me of some bad rice

i have 2nd gen.
and i already have green vips and shift indicator.
and from what i have heard, the red can start to creep you out after a while.
although it would look stealthy.

My BMW was red and I loved it, I have been trying to get back to it ever since I got rid of that car. I'm not much for the green and amber interior lights that a lot of manufacturers have gone with lately. Second to the red interior would be the blue/red combo on the newer V-dubs. I loved that color setup when I had my GTI.

I'll leave Uni to you kids. I feel like an old man every time I go over there. Not to mention, me getting arrested is not really a good career move.

So work is starting to suck again. I am working tonight until 10-11, then I work Sunday too. I usually have Wednesdays off, but there is a move this Wednesday so Isaid I would work. I made sure to tell them that I would be flexible since i'm taking wednesdays off. So, no big deal. I'll just take Tuesday off. Well yesterday they were like "We need you Tuesday". Ok. So I will be tired Tuesday since I am having a football party at my house for the game. "Oh... that Tuesday project starts Monday night". WTF? So as of right now, I have to cancel the damn party because Wells doesn't believe in asking anyone if they can do something - we are vendors, so we just get paid to do it anyways.

Needless to say, this just made my patience a little shorter. I actually submitted my resume at a couple of places on Monster that are closer to home.

Welcome to the wonderful world of contracting! Sounds like the last 8 years of my life summed up pretty well.

This is pretty much why I decided to work for the company I work for, if you know what I mean. That, and my promotions and raises were all completely random. The people performing my evaluation had no idea what I did or how I did it unless a client complained and that usually meant you got your booty canned.

Australia? WTF? I've thought about moving to Blaine a couple of times, but damn!! You're not messing around.

As for selling, I guess probably get her all shined up, and post some pictures on Car Soup? Also roll around with some dreaded 4-sale signs in the windows?

Other than that, I don't think there's really much of a secret to selling. If there was, I probably wouldn't have mine right now. But the reality is, I'd take too big of a hit.

Depending on your situation and goal, you could possibly ship your TL to australia for about the same amount you're going to lose selling the car (I'm in the 8-10k loss range now, although I've never checked on FedEx'ing a car before... lol)
