On another note - dropped my car off at the shop this morning. Hoping to have it back by Thursday is what they are saying. At least I got a free rental out of the deal since it's coming out of my pocket. It's like an '87 mercury station wagon. The thing floats. lol

So I got the iSimple installed this week and I gotta say I love it so far.. Fairly easy to use, just wish I could navigate through my music on my phone while it's plugged in..

Been a little difficult learning what each button does, still can't seem to figure out how to get music to start playing, without having it playing already before it's plugged in. I know I can go through playlists and select songs, but I want it to just start playing music from my "All Songs" folder..

Any tips I should know about this thing? Or any cool features I probably don't know about?

Hey guys, Curious if you guys have an pros/cons with Seafoaming your TLs? I haven't done it ever on mine, but did regularly on my Jetta GLX. Are our Vtecs picky about the sea foam in the oil and gas and vacuum hose line? Any input it appreciated I put it in the fuel occasionally but haven't done the whole system flush

Need a QUICK response from everyone....

So I got into a small accident today and got a hitch through my front bumper (thought a guy was gonna go at a stop light, so i went and he hit his brakes)... I need to know if there is there is a huge difference between a base TL and a TL-S front bumper, and if it's worth it to "upgrade" when it gets fixed. I am going to talk to the auto body shop about getting an A-Spec front lip, but wanted to see what other options I have.. Going to be putting the TL in the shop this week, so feedback is MUCH appreciated ASAP!

Sorry to hear about your rideLike I said on the phone I do believe that the Grill on the type-S is bigger. If you order the A-spec lip you need the Type-S and you have to replace the Grill

Well, I went and got my estimate, and got everything squared away... Car goes in on Wednesday, and it should be done on Friday...

And to top it off, I got me an A-Spec front lip coming with the new bumper

Hopefully things are all finished up by the meet this Saturday so I can show off my new toy

The type S and base should be the same size, the Type-S just gets the Fancy Chrome that you love so Much. The difference in size is between the 04-06 is smaller that the 07-08.

Thanks Joe I stand corrected but also the Type- S has a lipon the bottom of the front bumper that the base has not.

That's what I thought, but wasn't sure. I'm debating getting the Type-S grill, or debating if I should just black out my current grill since I've blacked out pretty much everything else on my TL

Hey guys - shit hit the fan this week, and I've got some miscellanious thing to take care of this weekend. I don't think I'm going to make it out on Saturday.

Things should be OK, but it's definately a "drop everything you are doing" type of situation. I actually left a job I was in the middle of doing and just said "I gotta go" and left the day it happened.

No deaths in the family or anything, but nothing I feel like discussing at this time either - hope you guys understand. Sometimes you just gotta take care of business before anything else (and no.... that "business" doesn't involve blowing away some douchebag that keyed my car.. lol)

Question 2012 TL SH-AWD Tech

Hey there.
So I pulled the trigger since weathers been so nice lately (with the exception of this snow) and am pulling my TL outta storage early. I want to get the rims on NOW Driving it to Bloomington Acura today I recall why I love that car so much. Handles amazing fun to drive and Opening up the Vtec is always fun on the highway. And even thought its a 05 it still turns heads with all the aspec stuff on it.

https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?f...type=3&theater
So my car went in to get the new RonJon Inspyres put on, and an alignment, and in cabin filter, and air filter, and some misc little lights changed that drive me nuts. I was curious from you guys, I haven't had 19 inch rims before. Any special precautions? I know that the rides going to be a lot tighter... and stiffer... It has Toyo Proxe4s on right now.. That cool?

On the plus side, they gave me a pretty cool brand new TL to drive, handnt driven a new one since the "beak" was introduced. I really like the seats

On a note for my car...
Seafoam? Plus' minus'? I have put it in my gasolin-a from time to time, but never the injectors or oil? I know that the book says not to add anything so perhaps I should stick with that? Have you guys ever done it?

Aspec Suspension. Now that I finally am getting 19's I am curious about the Aspec suspension. I read great reviews about how it rides and i think lowers... Any suggestions? Pricing? Direction for me on this? I don't want it to be lowered so its not feasible to drive. Its got 88,000 on it now, so I am sure Shocks/struts are coming around sooner than later?

I am having Janik shine it up in a few weeks. so will post some pics of that as well, I am pretty stoked, it looks like he does a great job. He said mine will be his first TL job

hmm... thats all, i hear its supposed to get up to 60 next week! Anyone else itching to get their cars outta cold storage?

I'm looking at the A-spec suspension as well. I'd get the manual set up as opposed to the automatic. The front sits a little lower with the manual A-spec suspension.

Thumbs down Tires are on...

Tires are on... but my advisor just sent me the following info :why me: So I assume that there is nothing I can really do?

"Speaking of suspensions I just ran into an issue on yours... The camber
in the rear has a maximum specification of 1.4 degrees and both rear
cambers on yours are out at 1.8 degrees, the only correction would be to
start by replacing both rear upper control arms. Without doing this the
excess camber is going to wear the tires more quickly than normal. Cost
to do that is $570.00 to do both sides together."

What pricing have you found? What Pros and cons? I hear the ride is great...
My guy at Bloomington said
"It looks like that kit is all four strut assemblies (which would need to
be done in a set), I could do $625.00 but that will be just those parts.
It will be another $800ish in labor." May have to wait until next tax season for that one

I do my John Reinen at Bloomington Acura. He made some great suggestions since I plan to add the Aspec Suspension. He suggest I get Comptech Camber Adj, R (rear arms) 04-08 UA6 TL 160-069 And have them installed to make sure that I don't ruin my existing tires until the Aspec Suspension is within grasp. I am somewhat shocked though that the HeelToe charges so much for shipping! YIKES!!!

Thoughts?

OK guys my Type-s has an A-Spec suspension lowers 1.5". The ride is sweet. Any time you lower a vehicle it will affect your camber and you will have to do something or plan on purchasing tires. As for your question on 19" rims what to be aware of #1 is the deep MN pot holes I had 19's on my 04 and I hit a pot hole on the Hwy. It blew out my tire and benty rim a little
