hey guys was curious to know what you guys use to mount your front plates. I originally was going to register it in florida and didnt take the bracket the dealer was going to install but since florida changed their laws im stuck with registering it in va till jan then i can register it in florida.

Being that ill need two plates till jan or so i dont want anything i have to drill into the bumper.

meh. I have lived here for ever and I have never mounted my front plate on my TL for the past 5 years. 2 tickets and both dismissed with a pic of the plate mounted. Either get the oem bracket from the dealer or just ride dirty like me lol

Only tickets i have gotten was going on base and on 460 going to petersburg. Dont have any problems in the 7 cities (just knocked on wood btw lol)

Yeah i feel ya. Im about 1/25 when someone will ask me and tell me its the law in VA blah blah. I just do one of these and keep it moving.

Dam Neck, Little Creek, and Oceana I never have probs, but NOB is iffy. I was at Ft.Eustis a while back and they have civillians doing the gate over there so u know they dont care. Either way man good luck

^ Ive never had issues with my previous cars (Civic, Prelude) on any bases in the Va Bch area, and those cars were highly illegal.

BTW, does anyone have an 07-08 base TL with OEM wheels? Would you be willing to let me test fit a wheel to see if it clears my BBK?

They look like this:

They remind me of the 03 CL-S wheels. They would make good winter wheels. I just hope they clear my BBK.

I like the base 5 spokes as well. Just havent seen the base 07-08 wheels on a CL yet. If they dont fit, Ill be getting the base 5 spoke wheels for winter duty.

Hmmmm. I really need a set to roll around on for a few days while I get my A-Specs powdercoated. Not sure when that will be happening though.

Morgan I doubt I'll be able to afford them but I'll try to grab them before your wheel whore self does

I'm also interested in knowing the asking price. Btw I would be driving up to get them. Shipping is a pain.

We could do this:

Since winter isnt for awhile, and the price is right, I can buy them and let you borrow them when you get your ASpecs powdercoated. Unless your looking for a dedicated winter wheel that is.

I just need something to get me to and from school for a week while they get powdercoated.

Go ahead and grab them if the price is right and I'll let you know when I need em. Of course I'll throw you some cash or something. I need to save my pennies for the powdercoating before I go and buy another set of wheels

Btw, 10mm or 15mm spacers for my A-Specs? I'll probably have Santa bring a set when he visits.

I remember seeing a black 2g CL on here that has the 07-08 base wheels. If I remember correctly, they looked really small on that car. I don't remember if it was dropped or not....but I think they look pretty good.

For some reason I have never been a big fan of the 04 base TL wheels on the CL...

I will try and search at some point and see if I can find that post

Found it, check this thread Morgan. I like these better than the 04 wheels. They are very similar to the stock 03 CL-S wheels

I learned something very valuable today. If you need to be down on Lynnhaven in Va Bch at 8am, leave at 5am I expected the traffic at the tunnel, but the backup on 264 was retarded.Took me an hour to go from 64 to Lynnhaven Pkwy

ok i got pulled over in my 3g Tl last night on Virginia Beach BLVD heading towards Town Center. I was not freaking speeding i was actually under the speed limit so when i passed the cop at the intersection i was amazed that his lights went on. Got pulled over cause my tint looked pretty dark. its freaking midnight dude got some good eyes i guess .my tint suppose to be only 30% so i was like wow really cause during the day time my tint is looks light as hell. So he put the window tint device and test my windows n the front came up to 19% and the back windows came up to 36%. I was like oh hell naw how my front windows darker than my back windows...i told him his machine is not working properly my back windows are way darker than the front. So anyways he takes my stuff and went back to his car and came back and said he was letting me go with a warning, since im in the military n have alaska plates registration and drivers license he told me to fix it i have to still abide with va law of tint.... i was like kool... i wanted to know if there tint machine if they can make it out to say what ever they want it to say? My tint in front is not no 20% but it read it that way wtf..... He also gave me crap about my tinted plate cover in the back.... Im just happy this my frist time getting pulled over and only got a damn warning....

I was nearly let off once. But the cop ran my license just to make sure I didnt have anything outstanding. I did though, so I got two tickets
