The other day i took my car to Hall Acura to get the recall done and the 45,000 mile maintenance. They gave me an 08 TL base as a loaner for the day. This car had a lot of lag when you needed to tak off. I could not even chirp the tires and the roads were wet from the thunderstorms. Has anyone else noticed the lag in those cars.
The lag was my biggest complaint about my 07 TL-S.. Deactivating the traction control and upgrading to a lighter crank pulley works wonders. I haven't driven the 08 yet, but I don't believe there is really any difference.

I still have some AcurazineVA shirts that I can bring to the Aug 23 meet. If you are interested, just send me your tshirt size so I can make sure that I have it. Shirts are $10 (my cost). If you haven't seen them, here is a pic (front and back view):

Hell yeah! I had to do the same thing with my car last week with the recalls. I had an A/T 08 TL. That thing sucked big time on power and mpg's! When I got my car back, it was like night and day. Makes me really appreciate my mods!

Yeah, it feels like it takes a few seconds for the power to build up, i notice it when i am in a curve and try to excel...the best thing i do now is to but the car in manual mode and down shift 2 gears and i dont have that problem as much!

As i have been driving around the past few days, i don't think i have ever seen so many TL's. and of course everyone was beautiful to see. It also seems that there are a few more TL's on base now. I hope with as many that i saw we can get a really good turnout next month.

Yeah, I noticed that as well. And hopefully they do not try for the "box" or "donk" look by putting 20's on them without lowering. I have seen a lot of that here in Newport News. With the value of the Acuras (at least the 2nd gen TL's) dropping with age, too many people are buying them up and makin' them look horrible that way. I have actually tried circulating a flier when I see one to show people the right way to modify their Acura but most people do not seem interested or they just have not signed up on here.

LOL! I don't know about the one at the Hampton-Roads Bridge tunnel, but that was me at the beach. I didn't recognize you. I met you at the car show in Va Beach last month. Also I thought I was the only green TL with rims in this area. I'm curious about the other one you saw.

Well guys.. I just got the exhaust done today... and it is FREAKIN LOUD!! (a beautiful loud, but loud none the less) With the jpipe, race pipe (3rd cat delete) and the ATLP quad catbacks the power is phenomenal, but it sounds really "ricy" if you know what I mean. Definitely not what I expected. I think if I would have kept that 3rd cat it wouldn't be so bad.
Oh well.. she's definitely not a sleeper anymore!

I am deleting my first two cats then going to replace my 3rd cat with a Hi-Flowing 300 cell per inch cat with the stock exhaust!....I anticipating a nice, non raspy, deep monstrous growl.

Sounds like a cool idea.. but don't the first two cats have sensors on them? I was told that if you do anything to the first two cats you will get a check engine light.

Well in 2 days my car will not look the same. The AEM CAI has already arrived at my mom's house. I am stil waiting for the window roll-up module, shift boot, and new wheels to arrive. So while i am on leave for two weeks, the first 6 days will be to install everything and also clear out the headlight while the bumper is off for the CAI. I am also going to try and get some mole skin and retint the windows (that is a maybe). Hopefully everything goes as planned and i get everything ready for the 23rd.

I will be about 50 miles out of Knoxville, TN for the first 6 days, be in Jax, FL for the next 4, then head back to TN for the last 4 days. So i should be able to finish everything.

the roll up module is from www.kptechnologies.com. It costs about $60 with shipping. The shift boot is supposed to be for manual trannies but since i really do not like the plastic bezel that we have for the automatics, especially since we are able to see what position we are in by looking at the gauge cluster. So i ripped it out and ordered a manual shift boot to take its place. I know there are people that say its a manual envy thing but for me it is not. I just think it would look so much better.

well an update on all the parts that i ordered. The CAI is already at my mom's house. I just got the info today for everything else. The window roll up module is arriving tomorrow according to the UPS website. The boot will be there in the next few days. But the one i am not too happy about is the new wheels. They were originally ordered last friday and with all the problems they will not be there until monday. I was so hoping to put them on as soon as i got there, but i guess i have to do everything else first. This is going to be a busy weekend. I really want to have every thing done by monday morning, but i know my mom will sidetrack me to help here out with the yard work. But it is worth it since she had my baby in her garage for 7 months, and she will have my stock wheels and stock intake sitting in there when i am done. I am honestly thinking about getting the Tein SS suspension package now so i can drop the car, but i think that i have spent enough money on my car for this month.

Yeah joker, i also want to have a drop but that is a whole different ball park. I took for ever trying to figure out what wheels i wanted so not gonna rush into what suspension i want. I am thinking either the Teins SS or the HR Sport. I am sure there will be some at the meet with different drops that i can look at and then decide.

It took me more than a 6 month deployment to decide what rims i wanted. I swear i looked at thousands of rims and only landed on two that i would consider. There were a bunch more, but i do not think i would want to pay the prices they wanted. I think with maybe the Aug 15 or the Sept 1 paycheck i will go ahead and buy the suspension. I will be getting my SRB payment on the 1st of oct so i think i can manage my money well enough after i get it.

Tell me about it, what brand, what size, does it look good, LOL. I was and still have those thoughts running through my head. But figure i need to just go ahead and get the wheels i am looking at now before i change my mind for the 1,000th time.

I love my Tein SS with EDFC. It feels great, rides perfect, and I love having the freedom to adjust it "on the go" when I hit certain roads.
If you want to check it out before the meet, just let me know. I am sure we can meet up if time permits.

i ordered the Tork Imagine Gloss Black. It is very hard to order these. Most of the dealers that i talked to wont have them in until the mid september time frame. You should just do what i finally did. Get them and get it over with. The longer you wait the more likely chance you will have of changing you mind.

Alright another question for those with TPMS. Did you guys use your old sensors or did you buy new ones? And if new ones, where can you get them from? Thanks

If you want to check it out before the meet, just let me know. I am sure we can meet up if time permits.
Hell yeah man, we can probably plan for the weekend i come back. It will be the weekend prior to the meet Or if something comes up we can always do it at the meet.
