Morimoto HID help ! Acura ILX

Hi y’all just wana talk about morimoto hid’s however it’s spelled. I have it on a ILX and it’s the worst Hid I’ve ever seen as in terms of turning on. But the best lights ever I’ve had. Mix bag.

i tried troubleshooting it with the seller I bought it from but still my lights either one side turns on or the other side or sometimes none turn on. Then the other 50% of the time they work fine. Needless to say 50% issues 50% working. Still no idea why I got replacement ballasts cause they have great support but it still doesn’t work properly.

something is missing here.
what do you mean you tried troubleshooting with the seller? you bought it 2nd hand????

p.s. it really sounds like user error/installation error.
perhaps it's not grounded correctly?

it’s a authorized dealer and no it was new. By troubleshooting they told me to check the leads for rust my ground and relays etc for rust which in California doesn’t happen but still checked. I have the + on my battery terminal. And the ground I changed from battery to the body radiator support brace area. Got a new battery and replacement ballasts still the same. It can’t be user error cause it works 50% of the time if it wasn’t hooked up correctly it would never work not just half the time :/

Pics please. Did you get a wiring harness as well? I’ve had nothing but good luck with Morimoto but perhaps you got a dud.

Did you sand down that 'grounding point' before putting the negative terminal there? id' get some sand paper or a file and sand it smooth to bare metal so you get the best contact, Justin is onto something there, That body part is coated i believe.

Under the screw was clean bare metal non painted. But either way i had it to my (-) battery post the same issue. Been talking to the dealer SWB or something like that and they said maybe its the wiring harness and i asked for a replacement under warranty hopefully they accept. :/ anyone else have or had the same lights on a ilx?

your issue isnt specific to the ILX.

it's either user installation error or faulty components.
