TV finally got delivered!!

Below are some quick shots of the set. I haven't even had a chance to tune it... but it is working. Please excuse the entertainment center. My dad and I removed the bridge last night b/c our whole first floor is having the hardwoods replaced! So the TV is setup until this weekend... then it will be safely snuggled away in our bedroom until the work is done. ONce that's all taken care of I'll get better pics

Behind the sofa...

Little bit closer...

Oh, and the 50" that was down there has been moved to the bonus room. One day this room will be decorated, but for now it will have to stay as is until we finish up outside

Right in front of the couch...

Behind the seating area near the air hockey...

Nice looking set. He needs to breathe though (not a fan of entertainment centers). Are you familiar with the Samsung service menu? It looks like you might be cropping the bottom of your ESPN ticker.

That's a nice entertainment center JB.

The 50 inch is nice, i just upgraded from a 36 inch Sony and it's a world of difference. Making more money does sound nice though.

how do you like having your center channel so distant from the focal point of your TV?

i'm struggling with center channel placement and may be forced to do something similar.

^^^ at least it's still in the center, and not off to teh side. If you are sitting at an optimal veiwing distance from a tv that large, then the sound wave dispersion will be significant enough that you won't even notice it.

Plenty of room to breathe. Has about 5" or so on each side and a good 12"-18" behind, plus there are small vents in the rear veneer... so it gets plenty of air circulation.

The bottom of the ticker was being cropped.. had to do with the output of the cable box. It reset itself b/c it was unplugged for a day... but I reconfigured it and all is well

That's how it has always been (it was the same way when the 50" set was in there) and we have never had a problem. I just made sure the center channel was centered over the TV and adjusted the speaker so it points slightly down towards the seating (rear "leg" on the speaker screws in and out to allow for this) and it's been great...

Thanks for the compliments on the entertainment center. It's actually not complete in that pic b/c it's missing the bridge.

And those with a keen eye will notice the console the 50" is sitting on in the bonus room is the same console piece as the full entertainment center downstairs . Yes, we like it that much that we bought the same console for upstair.

This may be coming from out in left field but has anyone watched any pron in Hi-Def yet? If so, can you see all the imperfections (stretch marks, hickeys, bruises, etc.)?

I thought about it before, but the way my TV's positioned, the people across the street can see it...
