Vermont Castings Grills?

I think soopa is mentioning some of the materials used. Like the sides of the top (black in the above picture). While they are metal, they have a weird finish on 'em... The wheels are kinda chincy now, and the wire tray on the bottom blows IMHO. I've got a solid peice of metal boxed in by square tubing for the bottom tray on mine.
I like the plastic side shelves for easy clean up, but I'm also not a stainless person... I guess I'm "anti-bling"... While I wanted stainless for the cooking surface, I was ok with otherwise uninteresting look of the weber...
I love my $450 weber, but since it's a couple years old now, I've got to see if I can retrofit the newer doors on the front... (and yes, GM got the green cover)...

Are the cooking grates and sear plates dishwasher safe on these grills?

But that's their thing. No one would ever mistake it for anything but a Weber.

a little OT, but that's fuckin PIMP, that is a requirement for my kitchen when I get around to buying a house and building one.
Maybe instead of a charcoal grill have you thought about getting a smoker?
