Lithium-Ion Cordless Leaf Blowers
Question for the experts: I am looking to purchase a leaf blower (cordless and battery, please) that can help in the fall and winter when there's some fresh powder after a snowfall.
There are lots of brands out there but they all seem more or less similarly priced. Some guy at work swears by EGO Power but that's the most expensive brand from what I can see. I know Toro because I've bought stuff from them before and they offer something. Would you guys recommend it and if yes, which one? There is the PowerPlex which costs a bit less than the 605 model. Or, there's also Ryobi. Anyways, would appreciate some input from the experts here.

One of the primary purposes I would have this tool is to clear off some of the mulch/wood chips that fly onto my grass after a windy afternoon. But, I assume any model would achieve that anyways. So, really...I'm just wondering what is the best bang for my buck and recommended one.
Get a battery powered one that has various attachments so you can use the battery in multiple products. A buddy of mine up north has a snowblower, leaf blower, lawn mower, weed whacker and some other stuff that all use the same battery. He said it was a small fortune but much better than the corded or oil/gas versions.
Thanks guys.
I guess this would be the EGO model I'd go after...comes with battery too: https://igocordless.ca/en/produits/l...MaAuQNEALw_wcB

you shouldn't be surprised but I got a full electric lawncare setup. Yes I went full EGO, yes they're worth it, the hype is real! I got the EGO lawnmower, blower, trimmer and pole chainsaw. I briefly had the Dewalt mower but I returned it and went EGO. My power tools are all Dewalt and I'm happy with them but EGO wins when it comes to lawn maintenance.Yumcha I have that same blower and it works great.

The ability to use the battery that comes with your blower then put it in your lawn mower while your mower battery is charging is handy. I can usually get my lawn mowed on one battery but sometimes I have to swap batteries. The mower comes with the fast charger which can charge the battery faster than you can wear out a similarly sized battery.
Also the portable power inverter is pretty dope for running some electronics (up to 150w) while tailgating

My next door neighbor has the whole Ego set up (mower/weed-wacker/blower) and loves. I'm old school (gas - Echo) and bought my stuff a long time ago and it still runs and does the job so I just keep on keeping on until something happens.
For the "entry" EGO machine that I had linked above, I can get this Toro: https://www.homedepot.ca/product/tor...9001?rrec=true
But, given the endorsement for EGO Power, I would assume you gents would suggest I go with them over that device from Toro?

Nah get the EGO. The battery specs are similar but the EGO is 140Wh (56v * 2.5Ah) and can be used in a mower unlike the Toro which is (60V * 2.25Ah). Also the arc design of the EGO battery pack reduces overheating unlike the Toro's brick battery design where the batteries in the middle of the pack will get really hot. I mowed my front yard this week with the 2.5Ah battery that came with my blower, I didn't need to bust out the 5Ah because it wasn't charged. I don't have a massive front yard but by the time I was done the 5Ah was mostly charged and ready to go if I had needed it.

Also that price is pretty high. That same blower with battery is selling for $180 US at Lowe's which is $230CA

I'd have to ante up for a battery which sells separately for $329 CAD.

My Echo gas powered blower and weed-wacker are each at least 12-15 year old and have had good luck with them. They obviously aren't plug and play like the electric models but have served me well.
Yeah... Echo > Craftsman. My blower has never worked well as it should. My Stihl chainsaw and weed wacker works awesome and both start with the first or second pull no matter what. At this point battery tech has come far enough that I'm happy making the switch over from gas. Battery is for sure a better way through than gas unless you need the long run time and/or increased power of a gas product as I do for both my snow blower and lawn mower. It's definitely the way to go for intermittent use tools like weed wackers and leaf blowers.
