DIY Pallet table

My wife loves Pinterest and I have to admit, once in a while I see some cool ideas in there.

Anyway, she talked me into making a pallet table. I got 3 good pallets that were the same 40x48 and took them apart. I put them back together (making 2 coffee tables actually) and finally finished the project today. We decided against staining and left it the original pallet color, I just put 2 coats of Polyurethane on them. It's been sanded down and I put it on some 4" red wheels I bought at Home Depot. All in all probably about $75 in random parts (wheels, sand paper, nails, screws, polyurethane) and it's finally complete.

Thinking about doing the same thing and making a 4'x8' outdoor patio table.

They make amazing vertical herb gardens as well. Though they should be lined.

So, this is a coffee table for an outdoor area?

This is a coffee table for our living room, now I'm working on ideas for side tables and sofa table that will match.

I am thinking about making the same table again but making two of them for a HUGE outdoor table. I need to find 2-3 more pallets that are the same though.

That's what I thought until I saw the wheels. Not my taste.

Cool but I'll be interested to see how it looks inside, feel you need a loft with exposed brick and such for this.

I'm kind of confused as well. It looks like it sits a foot off of the ground. Maybe it's the perspective but I'm having a hard time seeing this as a coffee table. Looks more like a dolly for the yard or garage or something.

Any pics of it in the house?

We're waiting to pick out a rug. Finally found side tables to match, just need a rug. I'll update with pictures once the rug is in. The coffee table will be in the middle of the room as the living room is huge.

I think it'll come together once the rug comes in. This is all the wife's vision, I just get to drink beer in the garage while making it

The wheels are there for the industrial look as well as function. When you do need to use it close to the table, it just rolls right over.

Finally found a rug this weekend along with a sofa table and side tables. Here is the pallet table in the house:

Now I need to figure out what I want to do with the TV. Tv stand or no tv stand in the corner.

Honestly, it works. It looks good and fits the space. I wasn't giving it enough credit at first.
I'm still not sure about the wheels though.

that is actually a pretty good idea. I just think it's a bit too low to the ground. Maybe another pallet on top of it would be better

With all the other wood, it does fit well, but I would still opt for some furniture feet.

I like the spaces underneath for magazines, books, and remotes. Very handy.

Agreed. Looks better than I was thinking but would be too low for my liking.

It looks great in the first pic, then when you see how low it is in the second pic it kind of threw me off.

Nice job either way

Thanks for the comments.

I agree on it being too low, but the wife likes it this way. We don't really use it for function since we got the new side tables, so it works.

Once I'm done with my yard work and fixing my deck, I will be making an outdoor table.

Ended up building a matching TV stand and some outdoor tables as well out of pallets over the summer.

Dark cell pic but you get the idea

Outside tables - I made two identical ones so that they can be put together for one long table that fits 8 comfortable or have a couple of tables set up.

Picked up some red chairs

I have a family member who puts in fireplaces so he's been able to get me some good ones that are all the same so they match. There are plenty of places out there that give them away or sell them for a couple bucks each. I see a ton on Craigslist.

Nice. I'm in the process of building one of these for the mountain house.
