A green tea supplement may help. But its seriously just about calories in versus calories out.

Mizouse, I had a lot of success when I followed my calorie intake using Myfitnesspal.com. Set it at 1550 calories per day and tracked what I ate closely. I started January of this year and dropped over 20 lbs.

BTW, I'm 5'10" and went from 197 lbs down to 175 lbs in 3 months. Started at over 20% body fat and dropped to 16.9% body fat. Once I dropped the weight I felt I had become skinny fat so I started lifting weights in the gym. Zero cardio only lifting 2-3 days a week. 3 months later and I went from 175 lbs to 172 lbs, body fat went from 16.9% to 14.2%. But the numbers don't tell the whole story. My body looks completely different. I went from a size 38 pants to a 32. I only wore XL shirts now I wear only mediums.

Lifting weights turns up your metabolism and burns more calories. What are your fitness goals?

My goal is to lose 40lbs in a month.

I just want an unrealistic goal.

I've already lost 11lbs since the middle of May.

But I still feel/look just as fat guess its back to weights which I don't really have time for..

40 lbs in a month

You'd have to diet and excerise to lose over 3500 calories per day.

Be like that super fat guy who didn't eat for a whole year except for vitamins and water and burnt up all his fat excess. Don't go that long obviously....

Each fat cell stores an oil droplet that the body uses via a chemical reaction when it needs the energy. Therefore, fat is necessary as emergency rations when food is scarce. An overweight person can survive for a long time without food.

Take for example the study carried out by a Scottish Phd student in 1968:
She found a 450lb man who was desperate to lose weight. He fasted for a year and 2 weeks under her medical supervision, without eating any food. He managed to lose an incredible 275lbs of weight, just by drinking water and vitamins.

If you carb cycle correctly, you won't ever need to set foot in a gym and still lose a shit ton of weight.

Has anyone ever had problem with GNC constantly renewing your gold card every time you go in? I went there, bought a gold card, it has a one year limit. Go back in there a month later, buy a couple things, spot a $15 "gold card renewal" on my receipt.

Went in there recently, asked the clerk why there's seemingly a monthly fee with the card, he dodges the question, then slaps a $15 extension on my card. :dunce: When I bought the card it expired in June 2013, now 2 visits and $30 later it expires Sept. 2013

I get the same thing too, you get a discount I think of 20% everytime you renew. So sometimes it ends up a bit cheaper after renewing.

They don't ask me.... I think last time I was there I saved $4.00... but I figured I didn't need to renew, so I could have saved $19. At least that's the way I interpreted the receipt. No doubt their managers tell them to try and sneak it in... at least at my local GNC.

GNC is expensive as fuck. They want $90 for 4lbs of protein when you can get it online for like $50.

www.bodybuilding.com has pretty good prices and of course their misc. forum has some comedy gold

Currently taking:

Controlled Labs Orange Triad
Controlled Labs OxiMega Fish Oil (2-3g EPA/DHA)
ON 100% Whey Extreme Milk Chocolate
- Almost out, and just requested a sample of Controlled Lab's Pronom 23
DS Craze

Thinking about picking up White Flood as I've never tried it (as I'm not in love with Craze), and possibly getting back on Purple Wraath as I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Bumping the thread after a month of nothing. I have used the white flood, wasn't impressed with it.

Current Supps:
BSN Syntha 6
The Vitamin Shoppe Casine Protein
The Vitamin Shoppe daily Mens mulivitamin
ON Platinum Prework out.

Can anyone look at my maros for bulk and correct if they look bad?

Protein 332.6g
Carbs 332.6g
Fats 74g

Should be 3300 calories give or take a handful.

so im finally using a post-workout mix.

its called afterglow.

i've dropped about 5 lbs of fat in the last week and a half.
though i've also been a bit more careful about my food every day, i have to say this stuff is really doing the trick.

it achieved in less than 2 weeks what normally would take me 3-4

i've been using this for pre-workouts lately, (finally trying to gain weight opposed to losing it)

and it works excellent for energy! you get that tingle within 10-15 minutes of taking it and your overall motivation just picks up!

For you guys who are taking Creatine make sure that you are drinking plenty of water. The compound pulls water and "pools" it into your muscles which causes the pump/vanity look. If you lack hydration in the first place this can cause kidney troubles.

The C4 was alright, but I found by the end of the container that I was forced to use like 3 scoops to get the same tingle feeling. I'm taking ON Pre now (Hate the fact its almost $60).

You grow a tolerance to it. Only product that I didn't really grow a tolerance to was Jack3d, but they had to reformulate it due to FDA coming down on some of the ingredients.

If I were to take 3 scoops off the bat, haha... Hello ER. Heart Rate would make Blood Pressure sky rocket.

I'm going to make a 100% effort starting new year to really get back at it and put some weight up. Time to put up or shut up. My work life tends to interfere with my workouts due to meetings being scheduled at random times throughout the week, but it's not a good excuse.

Should we make a new motivation thread for the new year when it rolls around?

Also when I would go to GNC and pick up a tub of ON Gold Standard Whey they would always scold me, saying "No no no, you don't want that! I'd recommend our $70 GNC brand powder!" As if they're also trained to sway people away from the Optimum Nutrition stuff. I mean they have tried to recommend other brands to me, but they have a thing against the ON stuff they have a whole section of the wall dedicated to.

But the only supplements I'm taking is just Cellucor Super Sport powder, GNC multi-vitamin (they were on sale so I stocked up a couple months back), and fish oil. I dunno about you guys but I really didn't notice a lot of really anything when I would take creatine supplements.

by the way does anyone know of a good protein powder that isn't too crazy with the cholesterol besides ON? I currently take the pricey isolates after my workout. I'm looking for something I can take throughout the day.

Finally raw DL'd +500lbs...on NO supplements other than my PWO cocktail

What a fucking joke industry. Moving forward I'm done with all of that shit, save some antioxidants and fish oil. My money goes towards food and the PWO ONLY, holy hell did I waste some money in my earlier years. There are some legit PHs out there, but not worth the sides looking back.

Most of it really is placebo. I remember when I took my pre-workout supplement, thinking "holy shit this stuff really works!" But later on I noticed it also "works" when I don't even take it!

Right on, my man. My supplement budget is taking a big hit this year - I'll still cycle some ephedra/clen this summer, but those aside...this guy is done.

Word. I'm getting off creatine since it hasn't done much for me.

Just pre workout (White Flood) and protein (Gold standard whey)

lol nobody at my local GNC can even tell me what creatine does exactly.

"So what exactly do creatine supplements do?"
"They make you bigger and stronger after your workouts!"
".... Isn't that what protein does?"
"Well no, this will give you more pumps."

...?
