Thinking about picking up White Flood as I've never tried it (as I'm not in love with Craze), and possibly getting back on Purple Wraath as I thoroughly enjoyed it.

So I've been looking at some recipes online that require adding whey protein to it, is there any special kind I would get? Or anything will do?

Currently taking C4 for my pre-workout. I'll typically do a couple days at 1 scoop, a couples days at 2 scoops, then take a few days off so that I don't grow a tolerance to it.
My post workout is Cellmass Creating/Glutamin Matrix and ON's Whey Protein.
I shoot for 200 grams of protein per day from ON's Whey, Isopure, and lean meats. I'd love to try eating Paleo, but I love milk way too much!

Yeah I'm down to just multi-vitamins and protein powder for supplements. I sparingly use the powder as it is, mostly just for its ability to get to work quickly. I found that high protein foods really do much better than powders. Like 30 grams of protein from a chicken breast works better than ~50 grams of protein from powders. Maybe that's just me.
I once bought a bunch of protein bars from GNC and they sent me a sample pack of some Ronnie Coleman super stack. I never used it since I'm just too nervous to try it. The directions + warning labels make me wanna steer clear of it.

Depends on your goal, of course. I think if you're looking to lose weight, you need just enough to recover and rebuild muscle and continue your routines. iirc the figure for losing weight in regards to protein intake is like .75 grams per pound of lean mass or something like that.
In addition to the multivitamins I recommend you grab a bottle of HydroxyThermaDouche Formula X from GNC. It's got 17 different kinds of thermogenics and creatine that revitalize your workouts and let you push more and give you more energy and strength! $199 per bottle!

Does anyone know any supplements to take for muscle/weight loss that are okay for people with high blood pressure. I take high blood pressure medicine, so can't take most of the pre-workout stuff. Only thing I use right now is a pre-made 30 gram protein shake from costco.

This is by far the best protein I have ever tasted.

Cinnabun is the flavor. With water it tastes great, I can only imagine it tastes even better for those that use milk. Like a buttery cinnabon roll, mmmm mmmm mmm. Trutein is a protein blend and you get a good mixture or whey, casein and egg protein to supplement your muscle gains properly. I highly recommend it.

If you do go the caffeine route, don't go with supplements. I remember when I tried Image Sports' Alarm the label said it has roughly 3 times the amount of caffeine as a cup of coffee.
Hell if I had high blood pressure I'd probably stay away from any energy-focused supplements except maybe B-vitamins or something, especially if you're taking meds for high blood pressure.. That's just me, though, and I tend to be a bit of a worrywart.

Some are just plain silly. I remember bodybuilding.com used to have an exclusive ON flavor of "Chocolate Brownie Batter Mix" or something like that. I honestly doubt you could have used it to make brownies either way.

supposed to help you burn fat better
#462
From what I've read, it helps to keep your body from releasing glucose into your bloodstream, thus forcing your body to use existing reserves to supply you with energy. Not sure if that would translate to inhibiting proper liver function, though... I doubt it'd do any damage, though.

If you only read one line of this tirade, the last one should be it.
Another full of shit supplement, spouted by the latter day snakeoil salesman, aka Dr.Oz. Let's not forget its 2013, wherein the general populace has a general attention span of a fruitfly and will simply take anything if a talking celebrity whore spouts it as the next panacea for a total lack of discipline. (Not directed at OP, just my general disgust with the public as a whole)
So, let's get things clear, there was only ONE real study done, and there was only ONE doctor on the study to begin with. The subjects (only 16) were all preobesity, with a BMI mean of the 25-30 range, in which case its easy to burn off fat just by cutting the damn calories back. There's also NO mention of the SPECIFIC DIET or EXERCISE ROUTINE.
Here's the link: Randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, linear dose, crossover study to evaluate the efficacy and safety of a green coffee bean extract in overweight subjects
So here's the real shit kicker, and I hope everyone can see through the smoke and mirrors here:
The momentum of the green coffee supplement comes from a single, flawed study of only 16 people THAT WAS FUNDED BY A GREEN COFFEE MANUFACTURER!

I mostly got my info on green coffee from those magazines GNC keeps sending me. Lots of write-ups on specific types of fat burners, silk amino acids, and other supplements I've never heard of. Would make sense that the manufacturers are their biggest proponent.
Just got it yesterday. If you're a fan of pumpkin pie, you'll love the flavor. Easily the best protein powder flavor I've ever had. Odd thing about it is that the powder is like an off-white color (with I'm assuming bits of cinnamon) but when you mix it with water or milk it turns orange!

i ordered it the day i read your post and ran through the jug pretty quickly. great tasting stuff and mixes up a lot better than most other proteins (i'm sure this is due to the mixture of various proteins)
i may order another one OR try another flavor. chocolate is taking its toll...

Don't feel like reading through 12 pages but my question:
Anyone take Omega-3 fish oil stuff?
My mom says it is awesome and makes everything better such as makes you feel better, more energy, makes your skin and hair better, etc. My opinion... placebo effect.
Anyone's take on their own experience taking them?

My trainer friend recommends fish oil but I when I asked him which vitamins I should initially take he recommended A,C, and a multi. I eat tuna almost everyday but he said it still wasn't enough Omega 3.

My opinion: You generate misinformed opinions without an iota of research. There's enough published medical studies on the medicinal effect of Fish Oil to dick punch your baby bat to a hamburger helper looking vagina. Seriously, do some goddamned research before sounding like short bus riding troglodyte.
Fish oils contain a crapload of EFAs, but namely you want one with a decent EPA/DHA ratio. I would tout the benefits, but let google do the work; you'll find much more detail in an authoritative manner from industry experts, both trained an anecdotal alike. It's a f*cking staple, man. A superfood. An all-in-one-make-sure-you-take-me kinda supplement. Tuna is not a particularly fatty fish ergo doesn't have dickall worth of EFAs, let alone any reasonable a EPA/DHA.
I take 4 supplements: BCAA, Fish Oil, Flax Oil, and Vitamin C.
I consume 2 fish / 1 flax 6 times a day (1 with each meal).
On the reg I do about 200g protein a day, all food (protein powder is well marketed dog shit) - I don't receive enough dietary fats from my diet as I only utilize lean fish/pork/chicken, hence the high oil supplementation. For most, 2 fish oil a day is sufficient.

SILK AMINOS: Don't discredit them...yet. This has some legitimate theory.
FAT BURNERS: Unless it's got ephedra, any-albuterol, or T-3 in it, it'll only have a mild effect and is not worth your time

If you've run a solid 60 days with consuming a cup of white rice and 1/2 a chicken breast as a substitute for your current protein powder, I assure you you're gains would be even better.

I used to swear by it - hell, I carried a 2lb jug in my gym for over 2 years so I could immediatley get my PWO spike. I was convinced that all hell would break loose were I to go a PWO in the absence of this muscle building powerhouse.
Then I switched to whole food entirely and never looked back.
All I'm recommending is that we all, as intelligible individuals, spend a modicum of time and TRULY understand how we fuel our bodies and sculpt our potential.
Just try it. 60 days. 1 cup of white rice and 6oz. of chicken breast or tuna. You'll understand my position on the matter thereafter

Hell, ever 16 - 24oz. of whole chocolate milk will do you better, at least this stuff has University studies to back it up. (Sorry, I don't have time to find the direct thesis right now)

Dude I would but right now my circumstances aren't there. Plus I'm big time in Primal so I swore off rice and grains. I do usually eat a 6oz can of tuna in the morning, some sort of meat for lunch and dinner, my shake post wo, and like nuts at 3pm although that's low in protein. I might start taking some ground turkey or beef for my 3pm. I drive a lot after work between the gym and then seeing my kids after so time is tough to eat/cook.
BTW I hope with your s/n I hope you frequent our metal thread.

I hear ya, my dude...but it's a matter of prioritization. I cook about 20lbs of the same meal in to 24 tupperware containers every Friday night. Married with child leaves me with little other time, so while the lot of folks may spend those 10pm - midnight hours being all social like, I'm busy with Chef's knives, a small forest of vegetables and the grill. PLUS it forces me to minimize any/all alcohol intake. It CAN BE DONE
