It depends on your diet and routine. If you workout really hard, most of that 5 pounds can be muscle. If not most can be water.

+1. I found when I ate clean but upped my calories, my gains were solid. However I also found that when I upped my calories and ate anything, my gains weren't as good.

Well I just started back in the gym after a 10 month break. Got back on my fish oil (Carlson's), Controlled Labs Orange Traid (Multivitamin), Controlled Labs Purple Wraath, Controlled Labs Green Magnitude, & Controlled Labs GlycerGrow. Already I'm feeling better, I just better hope I stick to my routine!

Thanks for the replys on the Creatine, I cycled off, and lost defination and weight. Guess that shit actually works.
I've been using Dymatize Elite Whey for a little while now, Isolates only, and it tastes great! I'd put it on par with ON.

muscle milk should definitely be helping you gain weight since it has a lot of fat and is a meal replacement, especially if you aren't taking the light version.
optimum nutrition's whey has some sort of recipe that's friendly towards people that are lactose intolerant so it shouldn't have the same effect as drinking milk. i'm lactose intolerant too and i'm ok with they whey but the casein gives me gas sometimes. i mix it with soymilk. try drinking mm or whey protein right before and after you work out to build muscle and get the maximum benefit of your workout. it's especially important to drink it right after you work out since the body will metabolize the protein more efficiently. if you're looking to gain weight try taking as many grams of protein as your weight in pounds every day.

I hate lacking patience.
I've noticed that I've been getting stronger, but I can't hardly tell any difference body wise. Lol. Granted, I've only been working out for about 5-6 weeks , I just hate feeling like you haven't gone very far.
I've changed my diet quite a bit, but I think I can still buckle up on it a little more though.

And yea, 5 weeks is not that much time. You will see changes if you do it right.

^---Very true.
The first couple months, a considerable amount changes, but it's hard for you to really notice. Guaranteed other people have told you something like..."you're looking bigger/more fit/etc." Just keep at it man

Thanks.
As much as I hate to admit, I know it just takes time and hard work. Just glad I'm starting now.
I was reading on a page or two back about cycling. I planned on cycling the creatine I'm taking. Do yall cycle your NO supplement as well?

Well I'm trying to gain weight, good weight.
I started running about 4 months ago to build some endurance. Then about 5 weeks in, I started weight training. For the last month, I've been taking ON Whey Protein to help recovery.
I've been getting stronger, and I definitely see more definition in my muscles. But size has only increased slightly. And I've lost 7 lbs in that 4 months.
I'm considering taking Creatine and possibly a Multivitamin. Do you guys think it'll help gain weight?

NO is a protein, no need to cycle it. Take as much as you can, without overdoing it.

1 - Determine your maintenance calories and macros (% of proteins, carbs, fats)
2 - To bulk increase between 300 - 500 calories daily (hopefully from quality food sources)
3 - Keep the regimen and see how your body reacts (are you getting and keeping decent gains, are you putting on too much fat, etc)
4 - Adjust as needed...ex - If you get decent gains with little fat, bump the calories again
The key (for me once again) to gaining and keeping good weight is slow and steady. Adding creatine will also help. In terms of a multi, I've always been a believer you should be taking some type anyway in addition to additional C and fish oil. But that's just me.

I definitely recommend a multi, as there are quite a few great ones out there (personally I take Orange Triad by Controlled Labs), as well as fish oil. I've tried quite a few and hands down, Carlson Fish Oil is the shit, and tastes great. Not to mention I have never ONCE had fish burps with Carlson. I also recommend you jumpin' on creatine as it'll help your bulking regimen, and help add to strength.

Switched over from NO-Xplode to White Flood just for shits and giggles.
Tried it for the first time on Saturday.
Seems to work pretty damn good. Tastes like ass, but chugging for a few seconds seems to be worth it.
