Great to hear! The only thing I've been concerned with is the difficulty of the workout, but it seems like you can try to go at a pace that won't kill you. Meaning, if he says to do 20 reps, and you can only do 5, then just do 5.

I'm honestly looking forward to it, I've reached the point where I'm just disgusted with how I feel, physically and mentally. Been stressed out with work, and this should be a great way to reduce that stress. Going to hit my elliptical machine this week to get back into the "workout" mode, and get into it on monday (or earlier if the stuff shows up beforehand).

That's good to hear Pete. Sounds like you are highly motivated when there's a structured plan, and P90X happens to be really well sorted out for what it is. There is some filler in the DVDs that advertises P90X-branded products like a "recovery drink" but I'd just recommend finding your own substitutes.

^^ Yea - I figured I would just make my own drink. I have been having fruit/veggie smoothies for breakfast for the past few months, so I'll just find a recipe online that will give me the same thing, but of course, adding protein to the mix.

Not sure if it's too late or what kind of deal you got, but there's a lot of good prices on CL if you trust it. My friend just got the whole thing, virtually unused, for $60.

Yea - thought about that, but had $50 gift card to amazon that I've had for a few months, so just figured it would be easier, that and prime shipping will have it here by Wed.

Alright, so here are my day 30 pics.... Let the flaming begin. LOL JK
My family has a history with back problems, thus the slipped disk in my day1 pic.
That is part of the reason I decided to do this program. I have to keep my abs in check to support my back. The pics may not show a dramatic difference, but my energy level is through the roof, PLUS the strength in my back has increased considerably. Look how my spine is waaaayy straighter than day 1. I am so far EXTREMELY SATIFIED WITH the program. Im guna run with it till the end, then keep going with round 2!

He will tell you over and over to go at your own pace. Hit the pause button. You will see that even they use light weights for a lot of things and lots of weights arent needed. The bands work exceptionally well.

There are a few things "I" recommend.
Pushup bars. You may be limited in the number you can do with them as opposed to without them but they do give you much more range of motion. Since using them i can do twice as many without them as before.

P90x Recovery drink. Its a little pricey, but worth it. Especially for the first 90 days. It works. It will take out a lot of the ache (which you will have as this will work your muscles)

If you use the bands which i recommend you do (unless you have just about every free weight at home) get an extra set of handles. It makes going from one band to the other much easier during the routine.

(My wife wasnt happy at first) but i put a eye hook with a strap/hook to attach the bands in the ceiling in my living room (its vaulted) and the only place high enough for me to use for chinup routines. (im 6'5") It will work for people not as tall as me in a 8 foot basement ceiling or in what ever room you workout it. Just find the rafter/stud center and drill a pilot hole and screw it in (use a good size one) The hole it leaves if you were to remove it can be patched in minutes.

Print out the "worksheets" and use them. They will help you keep track of your progress and what bands/weights you use. and keep notes.

Hope that helps

Awesome - thanks for the tips. Based on this tread, I actually did buy a set of pushup bars as well to help reduce strain on my wrists.

Package came and I spent the other day reading thru the book. I've got a bad knee so I don't think i'm going to do the Plyo (too high impact I think). But in the book they had a p90x "trim" plan that looks like more cardio and less high impact stuff. I'm going to start with that for the next 7 weeks before my trip to vegas to slim down, then after Vegas I'm going to start the program over doing the normal routine.

I am looking to start this program in the next few weeks.

My concerns are that the only space I have to really do this are in my basement and I am sort of limited in height, 7-8ft ceilings. I am 6ft tall, will this be a major issue for most of the program? Can I adapt workouts?

For the recovery shake, is a protein shake with some glutamine good enough?

Any other advice is welcome...

You can do most every thing at that height. Chinups are about the hardest thing to do with low ceiling, if you use the bands for them that wont be a issue

I prefer their recovery drink.

I have 2 bad knees and i can do it. There are modified versions of every thing. Plyo is probably the hardest on the joints but if you do the modified versions you should be able to do it. Just remember to go at YOUR pace, start slow, learn the moves and learn what you can do without pushing yourself to the hurting yourself point.

Started just a tick under 240 and am 203 today, Last day of P90, then monday i start a whole new 90day. I think the results were pretty good. (probably be much much better had i stuck to the diet better and didnt skip as many cardio days the last 30 or so of the program) I fully intend on not missing any if i cant help it this time around along with doubles.

I am seriously considering ordering this. It's not as expensive as I thought it was.
My ass it getting tubby.

I read a few reviews on Amazon and all the negatives dealt with faulty product. Anyone else order from Amazon have issues with their discs?

Ordered mine from Amazon and were great. I've been doing it for two weeks, but with a few days off from travel, have had to do hotel gym workouts to replace it.

No regrets at all.

You have a laptop? 99% of every thing can be done with the bands in the hotel room. I close a strap in the door and hook the bands to that and use that for the pullups. every thing else is push ups or arms which you can use the bands and they take up NO room in your suit case.

Being 6'5" i dont either. I put a Eye Hook in the ceiling and hook the bands to that. You can get a great workout with them.

Starting Day 1 of my 2nd P90 routine. Im going to attempt to do doubles as often as i can. Work wise this is one of the busiest times of year for me so even keeping up with just being able to do the workout is going to be tough. I misses a lot of days during the last 90 due to being sick and other things. I am going to try to avoid that as much as possible. Seeing i lost the starting photos from the last round i will start fresh with new ones (later) though the transformation probably wont be as good as the first having lost a great deal of fat . Wish me luck.

Yea - good point. I've been doing the p90x lean for the first 2months to just get a base in place and loose more fat. I like the cardio aspect also, so I figured that will help me get into a routine. I was considering bringing it, but in the end just decided to use the hotel gym. I can tell you that the workout I get there is nowhere near p90x level, I can totally tell a difference. Doing 45 on the elliptical and some weights I feel good and a bit tired. Doing 45 min of p90x and I'm just destroyed (in a good way).

I agree. I used to rely on what ever equipment they had in the hotel. Never again. Laptop (i loaded the DVDs onto the laptop hd) and bands. Most rooms typically have enough room for most of the routines. If there is a specific thing that doesnt have enough room for its not a big deal to skip that one or repeat a different one and move on.

Yea, i'm with ya - legs and back just kills me, my knee has been hurt too many times... But I go with what they say, and take it a bit easier when i'm on the bad knee.

I've been loving Kempo, that has been a ton of fun (and i'm just a huge calorie burn).

Kinda easing my way into starting this fully.. Did Shoulders & Arms Monday, and did Total Body Plus yesterday. Mixing that in with some cardio on my bike machine. My body still isn't used to the full stress of working out, but it's getting better. Hoping to start the full program in a week once my body can do a full workout.

I would just pick a day and go to it. Pace yourself, and motivate yourself to do it. I still have a hard time getting thru a full set on some of the cardio but i make my self do it.
