P90x and P90x2

One of the things that has frustrated me (particularly recently since I took about 4 weeks off) during ABX, is every now and then a couple of the moves I end up not being able to do after about 4-5 reps. Not because of my abs/core, but because of my thighs and/or hip flexors. It's one of those pains that it's pulling or charlie horsing really bad.
Cross-leg/Wide Leg sit up, and Fifor Scissors are the two most common ones it happens on.
Maybe stretching quads before doing ABX??

^ Interesting. I haven't experienced the hip/thigh pain during Ab Ripper X, but I definitely start to feel a tender lower back pain on the Hip Rock n Raise moves. I also feel like I'm going to rip an ab muscle on the Fifor Scissors, so I can only get up to about the 3 count before my legs just give out and I have to rest my abs. I wonder if you do the over head stretch where you push one of your hips out and reach toward the sky on the oposite side would help? Not sure if that would target the area you're experiencing pain in?

Didn't know if this was thread worthy so decided to just post it in here:
Anyone know if a high metabolism can be cause for being constantly hot? Lol
Ever since I started P90x back up a couple weeks ago from taking a month break and starting to eat like an animal again, I am almost ALWAYS hot. I know it's June going on July, and I live in Texas. But still.
I'll sometimes take midday naps, and I'll wake up sweaty.
I'll be in class for hours since the last time I've been outside and I'll be hot and sweating sometimes.
I'll be sitting in my living room (which I keep my apartment around 74-75) doing not much of anything and I sweat.
Normal?
Didn't know if an increased metabolism could do this, or what? ha.

^ I don't know how old you are, but as I've gotten older I've gotten hotter, and my metabolism is definitely not as high as it was when I was younger, so don't I know. Sounds like it might just be the humid hot temps, but just a guess.
For me P90X this past week... not so good. Had too much to drink for NBA Final's Game 7, so I was out of commission Friday and although I attempted to do Legs & Back on Saturday, I only got about half way through before giving up on it. I was extremely sore and unable to keep up, suspecting due to dehydration.
I bought a new road bike, so I've gone for two rides in two days, so I suppose that makes up for it a little bit. Sunday was supposed to be my rest day but I was going to do Kenpo to make up for missing a routine and a half, but after my ride there was no way I was going to be doing leg kicks.
So although I sucked it up this past week, I'm looking forward to getting back on track this week. I went for a ride on the road bike this morning to kick start my metabolism this morning and I'm planning on doing Chest/Shoulders/Triceps + Ab Ripper X tonight as scheduled. Can't complain since I still feel good and haven't lost my desire to continue with the 90 days.

Plyometrics last night. Geeze, it just never gets any easier no matter how many times I've done it lol. Felt good though and after last weeks debocle I'm back on track this week, even adding in bike rides every other morning. 10.7 mile loop this morning and have Biceps and Back & Ab Ripper X tonight. Weighed myself two nights ago and was 217lbs. I feel like I might see 215lbs tonight, which would be the lightest I've been since probably freshman year of college.

Ok so i had to take 3 weeks off, almost 2 of which were for stitches in my hand. Im going to start tonight but im going to jump back in on what would normally be the 3rd workout of the week and finish this week as a warmup and restart every thing from scratch for weeks 5-7 on monday

Just finished Chest&Back.
Had a REALLY weird workout.
Started out with the standard pushups, and I almost was freaking myself out of how many I was doing and still not getting tired. I felt like an animal until about 2/3's of the way through the first round, and then all the sudden it felt like I had one of the worst metal crashes/blocks ever. Going through the workout, you obviously start to get progressively more tired, but I felt like my muscles could've kept going pretty hard afterwards, but mentally all the sudden everything was gone.
I still finished and pushed hard, and it was a good workout. But something happened about half way through. Hate it when that happens.

Today is the start of week 5 of Phase 2. I'm fine with a week off from strength training. Looking ahead to Phase 3 scares me.

Im on day 2 and wow, for just pure cardio stuff, its rough. I dont think Ive ever sweat like this before. I will eventually start p90x (ive got the videos and books and such) but thatll be when I move back down to miami.

^ Me too lol. I often find myself thinking about my soon-to-be workout around 3pm each day and wishing I could be jumping around like a madman at home in front of my laptop instead of being "lazy" sitting on my a*s at work till 5pm.

BTW, sweated out what seemed like 5lbs of sweat last night during Core Synergistics. Loved it.

About to do Legs&Back.
Excited because it's the last anaerobic till I start the second phase again, and I remember loving the second phase.
Both Chest/Shoul/Tri and Back/Bi are kick ass.

^ Oh oh, that's not good. Did it hurt during the Legs/Back routine or just today?
#706
Things that sound like they can't be good. But it usually never hurts during the workout.
I want to say I maybe noticed it slightly while working out, but it wasn't by any means painful. It seems better now. But I still feel like I should watch out.

One on the right for me
I should try to find the time for this. My diet has changed substantially now that I'm working all of the time and I've dropped a shit ton of weight. I guess eating right really does help. Problem is that I only get to the gym 2 or 3 times a week now.

Just finished Back and Biceps.
I definitely pushed myself. My muscles are exhausted.
Just didn't feel like I did nearly as well as I did when I first when through Phase II.
Hopefully it'll come back soon.

F1 cart racer
so i officially started P90x today...
after getting back into the gym after not being able to work out due to college life and being busy i felt like i needed something more to kick my ass back into gear. one of my friends started p90x last month and is seeing some pretty good results. just so happens that in coversation that my gf said she had p90 at her dads house so she picked it up for me.
i got the pull up bar and the free weights and the first day of back and chest was pretty good.
i'm going to try and diet as much as possible, i really don't eat unhealthy as it is and eat medium sized portions.
i'm going to see how this goes but so far im liking it a lot, i know the only results i'm going to get is what i put into it.
currently i'm 5'8 and 185, my goal is bring it weight down to 160 -165 lean but i also want to build the muscle so i would be happy at 170-175 if i was lean muscle.

^ That's awesome... 30lbs, damn. Looks like I'll be taking time off for my finger, so I'm curious how many lbs I'll put on in the meantime.

^^nice, I just started P90x today too. Did it with a friend, we both got our asses kicked. I think I could barely do one and a half dive bomber push ups (most didn't count because I didn't do it properly) in the middle of Ab Ripper because I was wasted from everything before it. Going to try to eventually mix it in with one or two short-medium bicycle rides each week, about 20-30 miles a day, anyone (svtmike?) wanna chime in on how they did it?
Don't know if I can stay with the diet, and I'm still unsure about anything-creatine but today I ate healthier than I ever have in a long time. I've heard that your diet is one of the most important things when it comes to something like getting a 6-pack.
I think 4-6 months ago I was quite in-shape and hovering around 135-140 (I'm 5'7"). I'm currently at 160, which is pretty bad IMO. I didn't have an injury that affected my mobility either... the weight just packed on. My day 1 pics are quite embarrassing considering how slim I was before. My goal is to lose the manboobs, beer belly and stay at the weight I am or go even higher. I want to get well defined muscle tone... which probably won't happen unless I change my diet drastically.
Cardio (blegh), diet and motivation will be my biggest obstacles. My workout buddy may not have the time soon, so I might have to do P90 on my own. me luck!

good luck man...like someone stated above, you only
get what you put into it...just stick with...
when my wife has our second child around the end of
september we have decided to try it together..the main
obstacle will be finding the time to do it with a 1 and half
year old and a newborn..

If you don't like the cardio days in P90X, just substitute in a good long bike ride on those days.
Since the weather got nice I haven't done any P90X; been riding too much. I'll pick it up again in the fall when it gets crappy out.
