haha well,im still too big to see any diff, but i give it a month and ill start really seeing the changes..

i noticed my biceps are getting bigger, and my chest... but im trying to notice the belly fat more than anything.

but in all reality like i said, the pics that will matter most to me are before and after.

well heres a few more pics, this time without a shirt on... (as requested by i hate cars ) jk.

i will admit, that my physique looks better when i have a shirt on,but as u can see,im already getting the line down the middle of my abs and my chest is poofing out again.
im trying to focus more on lower chest during my workouts cause my upper chest sticks out more it seems. ive always had trouble with my pecs right in the nipple area and below to get that lower definition.

im still doing cardio every day before my weight training, this is the first time ive ever done cardio first. as much as i hate cardio,im enjoying my workouts more and more.

my food intake is alot better and ive cut down on carbs some more.
the other day i didnt have enough pre workout carbs and i crashed by the time i finished 2 of my weight exercises (oops) so i had to pay attention more to my intake now.

im still at only 10lbs lost, but i feel like my bodyfat is going down..at least it seems that way to me. some of my shirts that were getting small in the stomache area are fitting better already.

anyway..on with the pics :

Oh yeah LOL.

Now we have something to compare to week to week.

Don't stop with the weights no matter what the goal is. You have nothing to lose by doing weights + cardio/diet/whatever.

Good luck!

i think ima start doing abs (which ive never really done too much of)

try and blast some of this belly fat if i can. i might just do somewhere between 1-3 days a week...not sure until i start doing it and see how i feel.

You're not going to "blast" belly fat by doing abs.

Abs are made in the kitchen man.

And after those seeing those pics, I would say you need to keep lifting heavy and do heavy cardio along with it.

^^^ True.

The way I look at this stuff when I'm getting discouraged is we're all human and we all react nearly the same to workout/cardio/diet. If you follow the plan consistently, you will lose the weight and you will put on the muscle. It's that consistency that's hard to come by. Hit it hard and think about the wife's reaction when she gets home. That would be motivation enough for me.

Off topic, but what kind of camera is that? My friend is selling me his first "professional" camera, a Cannon 10d. It's a bit overkill for me but for $100 it's hard to go wrong.

i agree with what u said 55...which is why i never did abs before...but SINCE ive never done them im hoping if i give them some attention they never had,it might help out the lower bellyfat budge.

^You need to do a little more research on lifting, learning about the muscles, how they react and how the body works.

If you do abs, it will not help your lower bellyfat budge. You need to do cardio cardio cardio. situps, crunches, or any core excercise does not remove your fat or give you a more trim line. You're simply building muscle behind your fat that you will never see.

Here's mine from last summer. I hadn't touched a weight in over a year but I had just finished a summer cut. This is 6'1"@ 195lbs. I look smaller in the photo than real life. Goal by this summer is 210lbs at the same bodyfat. Currently bulking at 226lbs. I've definately got the winter coat going on right now but it will only take about 6 weeks to take off.

Please bear with the gayness, it's a drunk myspace photo I put up to embarass my friend. I'm on the bottom (that sounds bad lol).

Marti, just keep doing what you're doing. The main thing is persistence and patience. You've got a good base and an idea of where you want to go, it will just take time. I'm not an expert, but I've tried dozens of things, some have worked and some haven't, but the common thing all the successful things shared was that I ate reasonably clean, did a fair amount of cardio, hit my core as much as possible, and lifted as heavy as I could everyday I was in the gym.

A good thing to do if you're not feeling like cardio that day is to run your reps in the range of 12 and cut your rest to around 30 secs between sets. Doing this I've been able to keep my heart rate elevated and get a good sweat going for my workout

Again, all of this is my

the pictures you take are terrible. put the camera on a self timer, and take the same poses at the same time of day if you want to track any real progress.

yea...i was being a smart ass.

90% of the posts in this thread are negative and everyone wrote their own book on fitness and bodybuilding.

i do what i do,and i know what im happy with, but everyone seems to have an opinion of it.
ill post more updates later.

i had mentioned something like this in another of his previous threads...he's "sucking" it in for the pose...thats how the body builders pose, i think you can still use it as a comparison as long as he keeps the same pose and "sucks" in the same (if that makes sense)

delta, good luck with it all kid...alot of these responses are negative, but alot of them make sense in some ways...like you said, do what you do, you know how your body is...

thanks backinblack.

i dont really suck in,what i do is try to flatten my abs,and flex,so i see where u are seeing that.

as for not making the thread,im fine with all the negative posts, cause i know what works for me,and im happy with the way im doing things,so its not gonna get me down.

like i said before, this is a progress thread, not an advice thread.
not one of u know how i do my workouts,or eat,or do my cardio..so u really cant tell me what im doing is wrong. it may be wrong to some of u,but youll never really know unless u come with me and see me do it for real.

anyhow, thanks for the positive posts, i dont plan on shutting this thread down becuase of a few know-it-all's (and i dont mean the ones that were actually meant to be helpful)

i just ordered some more protein since i ran out,i also bought this stuff i never tried before called "100% whey and natural oats"
its by optimum, sounds like its gonna be a good breakfast replacement. i hate eating oatmeal for breakfast then trying to add protein to it or eating something else to get the protein,so this sounds like my solution.

per serving:
200 cal
23G complex carbs
24G whey protein.

Dude, I have been stirring in protein powder with my oatmeal for years and it is delicious. Add a little banana or some berries and you're good to go.

As for all the negative posts on here, how bout a little friggin encouragement for a guy who is tryingto make a positive change in his life. Instead of bashing him or telling him what he is doing wrong, why don't you try to tell him to keep up the good work and that he will get there if he keeps up the work.

Everyone on the internet is Arnold or rocks 20" biceps and can bench 500 lbs. Pretty weak to kick a dude over the Internet if you ask me.

yea, SR71- ive done that many times, mixing the 2 but its so tough to get thru 1 whole shaker,as much as i like to eat,i cant take in that much, makes me wanna puke!

plus,i honestly hate the taste of most proteins so i just wanna get it over with when i drink them lol..

the only ones ive really liked is SYNTHA-6 but the cost to servings ratio isnt worth it to me. (pretty much $1 per serving)

ill link u in a sec fiftyfive..just one sec.
i agree it sounds like a great breakfast alternative...sounds like its gonna take the time and guesswork out of "what am i gonna have for breakfast today and how many grams of what will i get?"

link------v

I got tired of reading all of the replys..so if i'm saying whats already been said sorry...

First off- cardio- u want to lose fat you need to run, etc....
Get rid of the fat burners- i'm a fireman, i know guys who have had heart problems from fat burners. I took one guy to the ER because his heart rate was near 200. He was on stacker 2. Just stick to diet.
U can do ALLLLL the crunches u want, unless your dieting, it won't matter, you have a really nice 6 pack, under your belly.

I was 5'8 200lbs at the end of Dec right at 15% body fat. I'm now down to 187 ( havent done my body fat ). I'm using the ketogenics diet, basicly cut carbs out of your diet all together, the only carbs i take in during the day is from protien ( bsn syntha 6 ), and every 5th day i eat what ever i want. I'm down 13 lbs, all from my gut, google the keto diet. Its not bad...if you have any more ? just pm me!

good luck

sorry the keto diet, trains your body to burn stored fat for energy instead of carbs. U will be really tired the first couple of days, but once your body starts to burn stored fat, u will feel more energetic. Its a hard diet to do, but worth it!

the first couple of work outs are hard becuse your tired, but no xplode takes care of it!

I did Keto for a month and felt like I was hungover every day and workouts were impossible. It works for some but not all.

I don't believe in fat loss suppliments either. You need a combo of diet and cardio with diet being more important. I have a friend that always complains about his weight even though he does 1- 1.5 hours a day of cardio. Yet he still eats fast food 4X a day. When I did my biggest loser contest at work I did some bike rides here and there but I did 30lbs in 30 days using mostly diet.

no your right! keto is not an easy diet at all!!! It works for some people, so far i'm doing ok on it.

I used to take fat loss pills and i'll tell ya what, after being on a diet for just about over a month, i've seen alot more progress.

Do you really see yourself doing the keto diet forever? Obviously it works but that just seems like a crappy way to live.

i agree with the above..lol keto is horrible.

i love carbs, and as long as i stick to complex,i usualy have no prob losing weight.
plus like i hate cars said...workouts are so non existant if i dont have enough carbs pre workout...i made a mistake the other day of not getting any carbs before my workout and by my 3rd set of shrugs(after cardio depleted me),i was crashing,i had to go home and eat bigtime.
