as u can see,hes VERY well porportioned.

he dosent stay cut like this year round, but ive seen pics of his off season and hes not that fat...cause he said he likes to stay about 6 weeks out at all times so he dosent have to kill himself to get ready for a shoot or appearance.

granted,he is 5 inches taller than me,so it wouldnt be the same to be his weight for me,but id like the size and porportion to be comparable.

To get like that, you have to make it your job. You have live, eat, and breath health and exercise. That's a bit much for me to aim for, but good luck to you.

^^I don't know what your mentality by comparing yourself to bodybuilders. I mean, yeah, its nice to know what you want and have a goal, but your goals also have to be realistic. 99% of those bodybuilders are not only blessed with freakish genes, but also have access to more exclusive/designer, or even illegal supplements.

It's really a complicated dillema, i know how you feel Delta.

I'm not very tall, I'm about 5'6'' too, but i not a fatty, so I'm never going to be over 200 pounds, unless I eat cake and sit on my ass all day.

I get aggravated because my grossly out of shape friend came to the gym with me the other day. This kid is about 6'3'' 320 and it's ALL fat. He lifts somewhat near the same weight as I do because he just is a big person. i feel bad because I'm busting my ass to get as strong as I am and he is a fat mess and is almost as strong as me. It's not like I'm Arnold, but my bench reps are around 225. Decent for someone who is 5'6'' 163lbs. It's annoying when I see him lift.

Sorry, I'm done ranting

I have a bigger, more defined chest than most of the people at my gym and I don't lift nearly as heavy as some of them.

Point being, don't worry how much you can lift. Focus on doing the excercise correctly in a controlled movement while contracting that muscle. Try doing negatives at the end of your bench work out and I bet you will be hurting for days if you do it right.

When I end my chest workout I do a set of 10rep Negatives on the Barbell and by the 10th rep, my spotter needs to lift it off me. LOL

+1, make sure you have a good spotter though

I usually do 2 or 3 sets of 2 reps. Very heavy.

I don't have anyone to work out with, so i have to use those metal bars that latch onto the smith machine as a spotter...sucks.

Anyone wanna come work out with me? I hate going alone.

Eww, smith machine? If they have dumbells, you're better off pressing those than the smith.

I do use dumbbells. I actually switch it up often. Variety is important to me, I sometimes even do a set or to on a cable machine.

Same. My workout consists of a 4x8 program right now, hitting each muscle twice a week. Chest for example, I do 6 different excersises a week. Keep those excercises for about 8 weeks and switch up the order or add new ones in. My body seems to be reacting nicely.

The stomach fat is the hardest to lose as I'm sure you have learned. I had to be beyond persistant. The rest of my body was extremely lean and it took a couple months of eating perfectly and cardio to get rid of the last bit of stomach fat. It's that last couple of months that separates the men from the boys.

If you're good at cutting, work out hard with no cardio until 6 weeks before you need to be cut and then hit it hard with weights, cardio, and clean eating.

I won the biggest loser at my work with 30lbs in 30 days. There was a little "manipulation" going on with water but not much. It wasn't easy but I figured I could stick with anything for 30 days.

As for the suppliments being used, I hate suppliments. Do the basic protein, vitamins, and creatine and call it a day. Most of the other stuff is a waste of money. Concentrate on the workouts and calorie consumption and forget suppliments.

you should be able to the bars and others without a spot, just be careful. Thing is, you're so young it doesn't even matter at your stage. I don't mean that as an insult, but you're body and ability is going to change a lot between your age and mine.

You need consistency in your photos if you want to show changes. Same pose, same lighting, etc.

Then why bother with pics? You're changing everything so it's hard to make comparisons. I'm not sure why you would take offense to this. The only way to make it valid is to take the same poses with the same lighting every week.....and the shirt doesn't help things.

LOL. I was trying to be careful in the wording...

I have friends, one of which is in Men's Health and various ads and he taught me to take pictures in the exact same conditions when you're trying to compare progress. It gets hard to remember what you looked like week to week. It can help with the motivation to have something to compare to. If I'm having a bad day, I think I look worse than I did a month ago. If I have a good day I think I look better. The pictures take the guess work and feelings out of it. Maybe I just think too much like a girl lol.
