Acura needs to give the TLX more balls in the announcement tomorrow. The article below specifically says Buick is going after the TLX V6 AWD

Next Buick Regal GS likely to have 300+ HP and torque vectoring AWD

My local Acura salesman confirmed that there are no mechanical changes. Cosmetic refresh is all.

Oh and the ILX desperately needs SH-AWD. They would sell quite a bit more volume with better handling/weight balance plus traction in snow belt states.
Ive noticed for most model vehicles sold here in NJ regardless of brand sell 90+% AWD variants. The dealers barely keep the 2WD variants in stock.

At minimum I think they switch from the ZF 9spd to their new in house built 10spd for the V6 models. It was already announced for the new Oddysey. Hoping for more than just that for their sales sake.

Maybe they're just working very very hard towards the 2G TLX? I dunno. But that's still 2 years away.

I don't know about you guys, but I am absolutely loving the latest generation of Buick products, both design and power train wise. Looks like both Ford and GM are now in on the active torque vectoring rear axle!

Based on the commercial, it looks like the new technology is Android Auto and Carplay, but the commercial is a little crazy so maybe there is more. I doubt it, though

Screen grabs from the commercial that was released this morning. Looks like there's a revision to the center console. More buttons I think. Also that's definitely a new OS for the infotainment. Graphics look much better.

I like how the rear looks and the red leather is nice but if there are no engine changes what's the point?

$$ Corporate Greed $$

let's fool consumers by giving them a tacked on body kit that cost pennies to make, but we'll net $2k on every single one we sell

yet, the only ones they are fooling are themselves as sales numbers fall month over month

consumers are super smart!! we love transparent companies! companies that are honest with us, we'll spend our hard earned cash!
Acura is not honest and transparent and feels like a cheating S/O....

i dont know, i was going on a rant.
in the past Acura's have all had tacked on body kits...where as the germans get brand new bumpers for their sport models.

i dont expect acura to change bumpers for their new aspec model, but rather tack something on?
i havent looked closely at the leaks either...as im waiting for production models

there is nothing tacked on the aspec model. the fascia, and rear bumper are complete single pieces. although there have been no drive train changes on the aspec it does have a stiffer dampers. supposedly, the 9 speed transmission is much more responsive with the current software.

The last screen shot looks like a "A-Spec" badge on rear left. We might just being seeing the sporty front/rear exterior treatments. Would be nice if they did suspension improvements like A-Spec of old.

Looks like they have fixed a lot of the TLX issues except for the powertrain:
- exhaust tips (yes exhaust tips first on my list LOL)
- proper bumper replacement as opposed to tacked on lip kit
- bigger, sportier rims that actually look decent (a-spec)
- updated infotainment system with nice graphics
- sporty looking interior (red seats with thick side bolsters)

At the very least, the A-spec model LOOKS sporty. Can't say the same about the pre-facelift TLX at all....

Yeah they are moving in the right direction, that's for sure. I will give them that much. They still need more, but I'm guessing it will be saved for the 2G TLX.

I dont foresee this MMC causing a bump in sales. If anything, it'll just keep them steady for this year.

What I found so far, god I hope the ZF9 is gone!!!!

Powering the 2018 TLX is your choice of 2.4-liter inline four-cylinder or V6 engines. Outputs for both powertrains have not yet been released.

There will be three distinct trims, including the new TLX A-Spec kit. Available with front or all-wheel drive, the V6 A-Spec adds round LED fog lights, aggressive side sills, large round dual-exhaust ports, and a gloss black decklid spoiler. The range-topping TLX is also fitted with dark-finish 19-inch wheels, a more precise steering system, and sport-tuned suspension.

Every 2018 TLX will ship with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and AcuraWatch safety technologies. An optional Advance Package adds a Surround View Camera, wireless phone charging, LED ambient lighting, power-folding side mirrors, a heated steering wheel, and heated rear seats. Acura’s new two-screen infotainment system debuts in the TLX with a faster response and more intuitive menus.

The 2018 TLX hits showrooms this June. Pricing information will be released closer to its on-sale date.

Oh I hope they do the ambient LED lighting like how Mercedes does on the new E-Class, sounds dumb, but when you see it in person, its really nice.

Talking Interior

OK I cannot link to the pic but this article shows an interior shot with the red leather. It also has red lines around the chrome bits. I really really hope that this is ambient lighting and not just some painted stripes.

Acura Debuts a Sharper, More Advanced TLX Sport Sedan

Written by Miles Branman — Posted on 4.11.17

ShareTweetPin It
Acura has had a rough go of it the last few years, proffering uninspired entry-level luxury vehicles with a vague sense of design language.

Finally, things are looking up. The all-new NSX supercar is here with its sophisticated hybrid drivetrain and futuristic looks. Acura’s MDX crossover has been significantly updated inside and out to make it one of the most compelling midsize models. Now, the Japanese automaker is throwing another log on the fire with a redesigned TLX sedan.

The 2018 TLX debuted at the 2017 New York Auto Show and we like what we see.

Acura’s Precision Concept can be seen throughout the new TLX’s sharp, aggressive exterior design cues. Most notably, a new diamond pentagon grille sits between new Jewel-eye headlights and below a re-sculpted hood. New 17- and 18-inch wheel designs give the sedan an eye-catching profile. At the rear, an updated fascia, dual chrome exhaust ports, and rear diffuser finish off the sporty aesthetic.

“We’ve really upped the ante in terms of styling, emotion, and road presence, more effectively communicating the TLX’s dynamic capabilities,” said Jon Ikeda, Acura vice president and general manager.

LED ambient lighting is pretty great. Until I had ambient lighting, I didn't know I needed it. Would like to know more about the differences. What, two hours left?

Unless they change out the ZF9 it will not matter to me. The changes look good, but what is the point if the transmission sucks!

I think we can all agree there are some nice changes (the back in almost every sense), some not so great changes (the headlight/grille angle), but the stuff under the hood is what is most desperately in need of an update.

I like the A-Spec. I like it that they seem to have brought A-Spec back. It's even better you can get A-Spec in FWD and SH-AWD trims, reportedly.

If only they gave it a wee bit more power....and a 6MT......I know.....I ain't gonna happen.....but a guy can dream....
