Question Comptech or CT-E Supercharger Any Thoughts?

Anyone running a Comptech or CT-Engineering Supercharger in their 3rd Gen all year round in GTA or South Western Ontario area? I'm playing with the idea of doing the S/C on my daily driven '05 TL 5AT (Auto).

Heard there were some problems with surging after reading and searching zine, has anyone experienced this problem?

Any issues with cold start or running the car in the Winter season?

I'm open to any suggestions or advice on the S/C kit?

comptech is now called comptech engineering....same company. There is a guy here with a 3rd gen WDP TL with the s/c but i can't remember his user name, maybe he'll chime in. I think you're better off getting a 6speed and then doing the s/c.

make sure you get new spark plugs, good oil, good tranny fluid and you pretty much set

Yes I know the old Comptech is now CT-E many S/C kits out there available for sale are Comptech, I guess unless you order a new on bearing the CT-E name.

My TL is my daily driver wanted the auto to crawl through traffic on the 401 lol Plus I wanted to maintain the original driveability of the car and not take away from that by S/C'ing it for all year round. I finally got a hold of someone at CT-E who seemed very knowledgeable he assured me its compatible and fine for a 5AT car.

Hey are you also running on an auto TL? What year is your TL and how long have you been running it S/C'd?

CT-E recommended I use the new Denso IK22 plugs from the kit. I do plan on changing over to BG Synthetic oil for the motor, and do a fluid flush on the transmission I think mine is due next service for trans oil anyway.

I was worried about driving it in the Winter cold seasons seeing how many have the surging problem I've been researching on zine. Have you been experiencing this surging problem as well on your car?

Cool thanks for the info I took the plunge and picked up a used Comptech S/C kit complete. We'll see in a few weeks when it arrives I'll make the arrangements to install it.
