Cant blame us. In the depression thread we told him to buy a dog.

And I wouldnt necessarily err on the side of divorce.

Depends on the laws of the state what the split might be, and if the money from the real estate sale came prior to his marriage, it may be excluded. In addition, he can bury the assets offshore (NOT literally, please........water-S) but in unrecorded accounts. My stepson's dad did that prior to his death, and we still turn up a random bank account and cash it out.......

Yes, if the sale from the realestate came before the marriage most of it will still be his, but she can rape him for child suport and alimony. I think the longer the marriage lasts the more stake she can have to his money.

Absolutely right on the latter. However, if he can document that she is an unfit mother due to untreated mental illness, he can gain custody and sue her for child support. It's been done, and I wouldn't take this guy's drive to pull this off, but he has a clear basis to gain custody. Leaving a daughter in the care of a woman with a serious untreated bipolar disorder is asking for disaster.

I was thinking "well she claims to have bipolar to justify spending all of Water-S' money"
(he's got money you know). "She wants it all" and also "Always Dirty is nearly Always Right" (in this thread)

"kid is gonna end up with the shaft, sad as it may be" <= that was my original thought
in stream-of-consciousness

Remember: these are COLLEGE-EDUCATED Buckeyes [both Mr and Mrs Water-S] that we are talking about here.

Just think about poor ole me, and all the idiotic louts around Ackron that I had to deal with for 10 months, or almost as bad, anytime I cross the border to Toledo.

With regards to the money... Lock that shit up tight.
At this point I think Water-S has gotta be asking himself:

What would this man do? ==>

what happened when dad sold the land is he sold it for a million bucks. he gave me 1/2 and I paid capital gains on it.
then with the left over money I've paid off shit(like my dad for our 00 Honda, my wife's student loans, misc)
Now as far as retireing by the time I'm 40. I never could do that. Even with farming when I was in college. I'd get bored in the winter. I have to work. If I'm not working I feel useless and get depressed. so I'll probably either work until something in my body doesn't let me or I die.

I've been talking with Dad and I've been thinking about buying a tractor(there's no way in hell it's worth this much) from him with all my assets that way if she would file for divorce all she get's 1/2 the value of the tractor(which is maybe 10 grand). dad would hold the assets until everything done. but she'd get SCREWED.

Wouldn't a career with Honda Motor offer better benefits and a more promising career trajectory than one with Botkins Grain & Feed?

I wasn't happy at Honda, my boss wouldn't work with me to give me overtime, plus you couldn't listen to the stereo. It was stupid shit that was pissing me off. I went to my supervisor and talked with him and he didn't want to work with me. I gave them my 2 week notice and quit.

Yeah I can see how that would be a pain in the ass, but you have to take the long view and picture what things will be like in five or six years. You'll have gotten rid of the wife and you'll find yourself as the BMIAO (Big Man in Anna, Ohio). I can picture all the latin mamcitas getting wet in their panties when you tell 'em you work for Honda Motor Corporation. I don't think Botkins Grain & Feed will hold the same cachet.

I didn't work at Honda for the money I worked at Honda for the benefits. yes the benefits were great. but my boss was a GIANT ASS BAG. hell I didn't really care about pay at Botkins Feed and Grain as long as they gave me health care.
I make more money off the farm than working at Botkins Grain and Feed. plus I get shit for the farm at a discount.

Yeah but there's a big difference between HAVING to work to survive, and just working because you WANT to.

Seems to me he would rather talk about tractors and farm land and the money that will come in 30years time...then taking the good advice given to him here and try save is marrage, even though sooner or later he is fucked..... this thread is a complete waste of time.
