What's for Dinner?
Wife, son and I went to a Pizza Hut in the next town up....We get there and they tell us that they are closing soon and don't have that much stuff on the menu left....We attept to order some stuff and finally get our food. We really don't understand why they are running out of food, but this is out first Pizza Hut in London, so whatever....Turned out that this Pizza Hut was closing for good and we were one of the last customers....Unfortunately all the waitress spoke bad english and it wasn't too easy to tell.
Burgers on the charcoal tonight....
I used ground round.
Roasted two heads of garlic and smashed it out. Then ran it through a press.
Mixed that with EVOO and some fresh grated parm cheese
Grabbed a medium handful of meat, put it in between two sheets of saran wrap, and smashed it with a small plate.
Spread the garlic/cheese mixture on it and topped it with another flattened piece of meat. Sealed the edges.
Grill
Served in toasted Ciabatta bread with spciy brown mustard, onions, and pickles.....
Forgot about pics, sorry

Wifey and I made cookies tonight for dessert. Just regular chocolate chip/walnut cookies. We tested The Vanilla Hypothesis. That is, the quality of a cookie is probably highly dependant on the quality of vanilla used.
Batch #1 had regular Safeway brand vanilla (4 oz = $5) and batch #2 had an imported Tahitian vanilla from a gourmet market (4 oz = $21).
The wifey switched up the cookies and gve me a blind taste test. The cookies with the higher priced vanilla were so much better than the cookies with the safeway vanilla, it was crazy. Just goes to show: use quality vanilla.

To celebrate our 2-year anni, the GF and I had Chinese hotpot (kinda like fondu) tonight!
We used a chicken-stock and satay spiced soup base to cook our foods which included: large prawns (12-22lb. types), assortment of fish/octopus/and shrimp balls, enoki mushrooms, shitake mushrooms, king eryngii, broccoli, and quail eggs.
I'm so stuffed right now.

Peanut ginger chicken done in the crockpot. I like to put it on white rice from my rice cooker and some veggies on the side.
It is a really interesting recipe, and tastes really good. I will put up the recipe later tonight.

I disagree.
Dinner on a budget tonight...
Cut up some daikon radish and stewed it with some wakame (seaweed). Added some soya and sesame oil for flavoring.
Served it with some ramen noodles. And oh, I had a granola bar for dessert.

Boboli pizza. I really like these. Just cheese, red bell pepper, onion, garlic, artichoke hearts, mushrooms, pepperochini, jalepeno. Cheap and taste good. A strong IPA and dinner is set.
Round 2 of the cheap eating. Simple salad...onions and mushrooms in a sauce pan with olive oil for a few minutes to soften them up. Cut up artichoke hearts, red bell pepper, tomato, and pepperochini. Put all on top of the greens and then cover with Champagne dressing.
(yes, left-over ingredients from pizza.)

Had venison for the first time last night. Just cut into pieces and cooked on a stove top grill. My sister's bf is a hunter and sent us enough for a couple meals.
It was pretty good, but my biggest problem with it was it was really tough. I thing it was a little over-cooked, but it doesn't seem like a very forgiving meat. I think we planning on cooking the rest of it in the crock pot next time.

Had Rice and Kimchee, along with a spicy miso based soup with tofu in it. Also, chilled cooked meat, which is rather tasty.
Yes. I eat this everyday. I'm Korean

How is the coffee? Not exactly a dinner topic but I was in an IKEA the other day helping a friend pick out stuff and their coffee was tempting. If I wasn't so sick at the time I would have tried it.
salad-raddichio, red leaf + romaine lettuce, english cucumber, slivered baby carrots, fresh grated parmasan, with a homemade garlic/spinach vinegrette ( really really good )
-homemade 5 cheese ravioli with a butter/oil/garlic/wine sauce, with a tiny bit of pesto, cheese, and spices thrown in.
-dessert was homemade tiramisu
my girl loves when I cook...
