I hate the canned bread crumbs. Use a coffee grinder and grind up some good bread. Season with your fav's and you will be a very happy person.....

I love the large ones with hunks of blue crab, peppers, and a little egg to hold it together......with a lemon buerre blanc sauce please

Speaking of crab cakes, I am just an absolute sucker for soft-shell crabs served in Japanese restaurants.

Sure, it's not a cake...but, it's still a dish made from crab!

Tonight I had chicken breast marinated in a lemon juice/poppyseed concoction, lightly breaded and baked in a convection oven. Home made mashed potatoes, tossed salad ( ) and raspberries. it was quite lovely.

Homemade brats.
Ground the meat, stuffed em and poached in a nice beer/butter before the grill.

Topped with a whole grain mustard

Yummy

Well, with the talk about soft-shelled crab, I actually went out for some Japanese food tonight.

I had some shioyaki flying fish, soft-shelled crab, a plate of tai sashimi, and some rice.

Goddamn, I love Japanese food.

I was gonna make sea bass provencal (sauce of tomatoes, capers, garlic, kalamata olives) with a side of couscous. But, the sea bass was skunky so we only ended up making the couscous

I bought it on Saturday and it's been sitting in the refrigerator since. I guess it was close to the end of it's shelf life. The (uncooked) texture was still firm, but it had gotten slimey ( ) and smelled like it just crawled out of Paris Hilton's gidge.

That must have been seriously foul. Had it not been for that comment, I would have been looking up a recipe for that.

Tacos tonight. I usually mix together my own ingredients with the store-bought taco seasoning to go into the ground beef. I like some chiptole powder, some sauteed onions, and diced jalapenos.

The biggest question for me with tacos is hard shell or soft? Tonight I'm going the soft flour tortilla route.

We had Taco Hell, pregnant wife was craving......

It was horrible, as expected. Now I am eating a peanut butter and relish sandwich. My Grandaddy taught me some great things.
