Xbox 360 Wireless set up?

I need too go the wireless route for my Xbox live. How do you have your Xbox 360's hooked up? What routers are you using?

I ended up running a cable to my XBOX. Cheaper and more reliable.

Screw paying $100 for a wireless adapter. The one for my PS2 was like $40. When prices drop I may switch... but for now I just ran a wire very discretely.

^ yep, I just snuck a cable over there too.

If you need to go wireless and don't want to spend $100, you might want to give this a try.

I need to go wireless. From where my computer is to the TV in the living room is too far to hook up a cable.

I bought the MS adapter since running a wire was not an option for me. But my router is a D-Link MIMO router and it has worked flawlessly via wireless with the XBOX, no log times or dropped connections.

Nice, I had a very similar one for the PS2 (said it was specifically for the PS2, otherwise, looked the same). Worked great. Wonder if I can just use that same one for the XBOX360.... why didn't I think of that before?

Yeah the reviews on Amazon say it works fine for the 360. For $15 I'm going to get one just for the hell of it.

One option might be to run a wired connection to the 360 and run wireless on your computer. In the end, this should end up cheaper than buying the 360 wireless adapter.

I'm running a Buffalo MIMO router. The cable modem runs to the router and then one of the ports runs to the 360. I installed a wireless adapter on the desktop and get great transfer speeds (don't remember speeds, it's been awhile since I tested).

That would save me some money I'll have to give it a shot tonight to see if it works or not...

1st I went out and purchased the Linksys WRT54GX router.Came home tried to hook it up,what a nightmare. I could not get connected to the internet after hooking this thing up. I got fed up,took this router back, and purchased the D-link DGL-4300 router. Hooked it up in 2 minutes,it works great. Thanks for all the info

So what do I need to get the 360 working with a wireless Router? I have a Netgear router that is according to Netgear site 360 compatible. The router works perfectly with my laptop so connection won't be a problem.

Get a wireless adapter, hook it up to the xbox 360 and then go through the wireless/network setup on the 360. Enter any information required, connect and viola!

I use a linksys wga54ag that i bought from ebay to connect my xbox360 to my router wirelessly. Never had an issue after the install. Think you could pick one up on ebay for less than 50 bucks shipped vs retail where they charge you close to 100 bux.

Thanks, I just bought this for $16+ shipping and hooked it up on two Xbox 360s, and it works great. It's pretty much plug n' play.

I see...

yeah, I know someone else that's got 2 360's too... but only because the first one kept breaking down, and he got sick of constantly sending it back to M.S. (it happened twice), so he took my advice.... bought a 2nd one from Costco... after a week... took the broken one into Costco and returned it... but I guess he felt bad for taking advantage of Costco, so he bought another one with the credit. Now, he's got 2
