Sony: PS4 News and Discussion Thread
Guys Target this week will do Buy 2 get 1 free. 3 games for $120 as receipt will show games at $40 each.
And from Engadget:
Microsoft may have dropped a whole lot of news on us today, but that doesn't mean Sony hasn't got a few surprises up its sleeve. With just a week until the PlayStation 4 hits stores in North America, the company has revealed a trio of surprises for PlayStation 4 buyers when they receive their units on launch day. As part of a special promotion, Sony will include $10 credit for its PlayStation Store, which can be used to against games, music or movies, a free 30-day membership to PlayStation Plus and a 30-day trial for its Music Unlimited streaming service. Sony appears to be onboarding gamers in the hope they'll enjoy its multiplayer gaming and media services enough to stump up the cash for a full subscription. The company says the offer is available for a limited period, and that its music offer will only apply to new users.

uhh... so i went to the sony booth at the mall in downtown SF.
was not impressed at all with the graphics on call of duty ghosts on the PS4.
i was really hoping for something that would blow me away. did not honestly look all that much better than COD mw1&2 i played alot of. then again maybe useful if i had a side by side to compare.

It's going to be a little while until the next gen games look next gen. Right now most won't look much better then their predecessor. That's why I'll likely wait a year or so before I pick one up... just to see how things play out.
that doesn't compute in theory, since the PS4 is based on PC architecture. because of this, it should be comparatively easier to port games over from their PC counterparts, and the video should show a consequent improvement thereof. will have to see how it turns out.
Ghosts does look a lot better on the PS4 then it does on the PS3 and 360. Obviously, still not as good as the PC version.Anyways, this annoying fuck..

News that the PS4 can't play MP3s or CDs out of the box caught many off guard, and it turns out the backlash also surprised Shuhei Yoshida, Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide Studios head, and other folks at the company. While Yoshida previously revealed that he'd conferred with the PS4 developer team about the matter, he revealed in an interview with Giant Bomb that "the systems guys are discussing how and when we can put these features on PS4." In addition, the head honcho says DLNA support is being looked at as well.
Oh, and stow away your tinfoil hats, as the PlayStation boss says the functionality omission wasn't part of an elaborate ploy to rack up more Music Unlimited subscriptions. Instead, he says game features took priority when it came to launch day software, while media-focused ones took the back seat. "We didn't really think about MP3 or DLNA," Yoshida said. "We thought, 'we're going to do that eventually.' We've been doing it with all the products, so it caught us off guard." For now, you can rely on your Xbox One to spin your CDs -- and play MP3s as a PlayTo device -- or blow some dust off that stereo system of yours.

We've downloaded the 323MB patch on a system ourselves, while forum posters on NeoGAF point out a link (ostensibly) to Sony's servers where you can nab a copy in case they're completely crushed on launch day. Unlike the Xbox One you'll still be able to play games without the update, but things like logging onto the PSN, play games while they download or play Blu-ray movies require this patch. One way or another, all the software is lined up for the PS4's big debut in two more days, now all we need is the green light to purchase hardware (or a retailer with an itchy "ship now" trigger finger).
Although, it NEVER ceases to amaze me that idiots/fools out there would pay an inflated price for an item they had AMPLE time to pre-order. In these cases, these products are only advertised for weeks and weeks and weeks about the preorder...
So, the people who pay extra for one...WTF were they doing? Living in a cave and suddenly realized oh-snap...a PS4 came out and it's time to shell out $100+ more than retail?
