btw i think im in slump these days... ive been very confident in my gameplan before, but nowadays, it feels like i'm always doing an uphill battle every game. maybe because i couldn't play for about 10 straight days last week due to work?

I think that there are times when you will feel that way. No one is actually THE BEST at SC because of the different variation that goes on. I'm concluding this because I've seen replays of top SC players and even they lose at times when I thought they could win. It's just the nature of the game

Yeah, unfortunately, slumps do come and go. I had a slump for a whole month during the early phase of Starcraft 2 Initial release, and it was dreadful. That is the main reason why I transitioned to custom games.
But it feels good doing ladder games again.

Don't worry about losing or what not :P

Ok...
I was looking up my friend's HP laptop model # on Google search engine and the first link directed me right into a virus....
It was one of those pop ups that says, "Potential malicious virus detected" (something along those lines). with a cheap graphic automated "virus scan" on my browser. I SHOULD have closed it from task manager, but I just went straight for the "x" button and then the notification : "If you close now, scan will be canceled, continue?"
Then I clicked "ok" to exit firefox.

I currently have a virus scan going on, but, do you think that there is a possible chance the virus could have gotten in?

Played with dbqkqh a while back. He's really good lol. We played a 3v3 with one of my roommates also. He's good lol. Although I will say I didnt play my best, I was kinda out of it. But still I did horrible compared to him lol.
I watched the replay with your camera view, and holy shit do you work fast. He averaged like 200 apm the whole game! I dont have the concentration you have lol. Good game though, I'll get better

I hadn't played in a couple weeks then I decided to play the other night.. It was 2v2AI and I was so far behind both computers and my partner in production. I thought I was doing pretty good until the AI came and destroyed my base but my partner saved me with his 25+ maruaders.

But yeah, that 3 v 3 game was a good game - except for the last guy who turtled up on an island expansion.

Most of the APM in the beginning is spam, but throughout the entire game? that is interesting xD

I disabled the background music and replaced it with New Age piano music, and it makes you all calm and stuff so, I guess I can concentrate good because of that? lol, don't know

So I played v Fidelis, and he is definitely more skilled than I am. His APM is nearly four times mine 150 vs. 40. I definitely a lot to improve on.

Wow... PvZ is slightly imbalanced imo.
Just got back from losing 6 games in a row to Zerg - Mutaling.

During those games I used variety of strategies:
- Blink Stalkers + Phoenixes + Sentries = Fail.
- Collosus + High Templar + Blink Stalkers + Sentries = Fail.
- High Templars + Blink Stalkers + Sentries + Charged Zealots = Fail.
- Blink Stalkers + Sentries = Fail
- Blink Stalkers + High Templars = Fail
- The sixth game was different. Opponent went to mutalisks to ultras somehow on 2 bases...

Don't really know what is going on - I am focusing on preventing the Zerg player expanding - almost all those games, the Zerg had no more then 2-3 expansions.

The Mutalisk harass is quite devastating. Props to the players and their micro.

There are some balancing issues in PvZ - as I have seen Huk, one of the greatest Protoss player out there, lose to mutaling combination as well.

Agh!!! So, to any fellow AZ members who play Zerg, I highly recommend going mutaling combination against Protoss players. If you go roaches or hydras, it will be a challenge - I have yet lost to a Zerg who went that build.

So pissed right now.. trying to get back into 1v1 and I had my opponent beat.. Survived a huge attack of zealots against my marauders but he sent in a dark templar, which I didn't have any detection for his cloak and he killed all my scvs so I quit

^ how long was that game? im assuming it was more than 20 mins as DT was out? can you tell me what happened in the early and mid stage of the game? you really have to constantly scout him in some way to figure out which tech tree he's taking. is he getting robo after gateway or stargate or twilight counsil? if you spot him getting one of those, then you should be able to expect which units he will ultimately make to get on you.

if you didn't know he was getting DTs at all, then you need to work on your basic scouting skills.

if your main race is terran, just throw me any questions, i'll try my best to help you out.

sup guys,

i took a vacation from work for about 2 weeks to visit korea. just got back couple days ago and i'm here at work trying not to fall asleep... freaking jetlag ftl

anyway, last night i tried to log on to the battle net, but it kept on saying my internet connection is not working or some other crap. my internet was working fine. what would cause this to happen?? my comp is acting up a little since i'm back from korea. maybe it caught some virus?? what should i do?

See if it does the same thing today. It did that once to me, but after a restart it worked, dunno what happened.

I've been playing pretty bad recently. I switched to protoss and now I'm back to terran lol. Hope this losing streak ends soon.

I really like how the system now pits you against people that are your level. I think that's a really effective way to balance out the online play. I notice that the average player has a 50/50 win/lose ratio because of this system.

Unlike in SC1, people would /stat a player and if they have a good winning streak, they would quit the lobby.

omg.. so i just formatted my comp and installed windows 7 64bit. just finished installing my sc2.. but now.. something's very weird. i've been waiting for sc2 to finish its updating for the past 30 minutes. the most weird thing is that it goes from 0% to 100% in like 3 mins, but then when it reaches 100%, it does the update thingy again! it just did it about 6 times already..

what's going on???

Because there's more than one update. It'll go through an update, then go onto another set of update. It's just not one big update file. Mine does the same thing. Although mine didn't take 30 min. Maybe you have a slower connection? Because mine took about 10 minutes with a 10mbit connection

When your Terran how often do you scout and using what? The one thing I loved about Protoss was the observers.

When you get your orbital command first with the first energy do you scan or use the mule??

using OC (orbital command)... hmmm it all depends on the situation... but i usually use the mule... 1 mule equals a lot of extra minerals, so i try my best not to use scan in the beg of the game. BUT if for some reason, i can't poke into his base to scout at all, then i would have to use it once or twice to gauge which build he is going with.

I'm pretty much always terran btw. so when i play terran, i usually scout with 1 or 2 scvs in the beg to see what he's doing since scouting in the beg of the game is pretty critical. during the mid to late, when i have my natural being pretty saturated with SCVs, i use scans to scout him every once in awhile.

but really, you have to constant monitor what he's doing in his base and what units the opponent is getting.

oh yeah, if the opponent walls off at the choke, just use 1 scv to go up the choke hill and down couple times to see how many of which units he have in front. this will help you figure out which build he is going with (some sneaky players don't gather his units by the choke, so you might not be able to get it right everytime... but just do what you gotta do to scout.

if you don't know what he's doing and you are going with some random typical build order, then you are already behind in the game. scounting is a must.

so.. i finally played couple games after a month of not playing at all.. i won most of the matches, but i do know that i'm playing pretty bad.

and i rarely watch replays but did once yesterday. i didn't know there's a feature that actually let you see the APM of the players! it was sweet! i've never knew what my APM was. i'm averaging a little above 100, and it peaks way up to 250-300 when i'm doing some sneaky drops and making mmm through like 8 production buildings at the same time. lol

i know some players go apeshit with their mouse and keyboard for no reason in the first 2 minutes of the games just trying to bring up their APM stat... that's fking dumb imo. haha
