I really wouldnt use a joystick with BF2 type games. I think the only case where it would work well is for flying fixed wing aircraft. Other then that, mouse and keyboard are much better...

I had a 30 dollar logitech joystick that worked just fine for bf2, the plane physics arent the most demanding on input devices.

Yea, really. Sure, its eaiser to fly both with a joystick, but how often do you jump in one? Maybe about 10% of the time, but I dont go out of my way to jump in a jet or copter...

Sure, it will work , but if you've ever played a first person shooter, its just not as easy as a mouse and joystick...

on the ground I find it's just best to use the keyboard and mouse, you can set bf up to have different controlls for air vehicles than land vehichles than just walking around.

Although, I could see the throttle thing being pretty handy in a heli...

If in BF2 you can trully hold throttle at 50% that would be super handy...

I usually have to tap W rapidly to keep the throttle steady.

I hate that. I dont understand why in the BF games the throttle is either all on or all off.

the throttle looks pretty advanced, maybe it could regulate it for us

the sickest thing about the joystick is the missle launch button, has the flip guard that covers it, so when you want to fire you have to lift the lever and hit the red button, just like the real thing

Because keys on your keyboard are either DOWN or UP

BF2 is fine, it would be ghey if it was a stepped throttle... it would make flying much more difficult.

The throttle IS progressive but you need a progressive control.
